حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا بشر بن موسى، حدثنا الحُميدي، حدثنا سفيان، عن الزُّهْري، عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله بن عمر، عن إياس بن عبد الله ابن أبي ذُباب، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "لا تضرِبُوا إماءَ الله" فجاء عمرُ إلى النبي ﷺ، فقال: يا رسول الله، قد ذَئِرنَ النساءُ على أزواجهنّ، فأَذِنَ رسولُ الله ﷺ أن يَضربوهنّ، قال: فأطافَ بآل محمد ﷺ سبعون امرأةً، كلُّهن يشتَكين أزواجَهنَّ، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: "ليس (1) أولئك خِيارَكم" (2). صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه. وله شاهد بإسناد صحيح عن أم كُلثوم بنت أبي بكر:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Iyas bin Abdullah bin Abi Dhubab (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not strike the female servants of Allah." Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "The women have become emboldened against their husbands." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave permission to strike them (by way of discipline). The narrator said: After that, seventy women gathered around the household of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), complaining about their husbands. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those men (who beat women) are not the best among you."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it. It also has a supporting report (shahid) with a sahih chain from Umm Kulthum bint Abi Bakr.

(1) لفظة "ليس" سقطت من (ز) و (ص) و (ب) ثم ألحقت بهامش (ص) بخط مغاير، وهي ثابتة في (ع)، والصواب إثباتها لفساد المعنى بدونها.
Note / Clarification: The word "ليس" had dropped out of manuscripts (Z), (S) and (B), and was then added in the margin of manuscript (S) in a different hand. It is present in manuscript ('A), and the correct course is to include it, because without it the meaning is corrupted.
(2) إسناده صحيح، وقد تقدم برقم (2800).
Grading: The chain of this hadith is "sahih", and it has already passed at number (2800).
