أخبرَناه أبو الحسن أحمد بن محمد العَنَزي، حدثنا عثمان بن سعيد، حدثنا عبد الله بن صالح، أخبرني معاوية بن صالح. وأخبرنا أحمد بن جعفر، أخبرنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل، حدثني أبي، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مَهْدي، عن معاوية بن صالح، عن عبد الرحمن بن جُبَير بن نُفَير، عن أبيه، عن نَوَّاس بن سِمْعان الأنصاري، قال: سألتُ النبيَّ ﷺ عن البِرِّ والإثمِ، قال: "البِرُّ حسنُ الخُلُق، والإثمُ ما حاكَ في صدرِك وكرهتَ أن يَطَّلعَ عليه الناسُ" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Nawwas bin Sim'an al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about righteousness and sin, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Righteousness is good character, and sin is what troubles your heart and you dislike that people should come to know of it."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith 2203

أخبرنا أبو العباس القاسم بن القاسم السَّيّاري، حدثنا أبو المُوجِّه، حدثنا عَبْدان، أخبرنا عبد الله بن المبارك، أخبرنا أسامة بن زيد، عن عمرو بن شعيب، عن أبيه، عن جده: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ تَضَوَّرَ ذاتَ ليلةٍ، فقيل له: ما أسهَرَك؟ قال: "إني وَجدتُ تمرةً ساقِطةً فأكلتُها، ثم ذَكَرتُ تمرًا كان عندنا من تمر الصَّدقة، فما أدري أمِن ذلك كانتِ التمرةُ، أو من تمرِ أهلي، فذلك أسْهَرَني" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

Amr bin Shu'ayb narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both)), that one night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was very restless. It was said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): What has kept you awake? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I found a fallen date and ate it. Then I remembered that we also had some dates of charity, and now I do not know whether that date was from them or from the dates of my household. It is this that kept me awake."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith 2204

حدثنا محمد بن صالح، حدثنا أبو سعيد محمد بن شاذان، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ومحمد بن رافع ومحمد بن يحيى، قالوا: حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن ابن أبي ذئب، عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ما أدري أتُبَّعٌ لعينًا كان أم لا، وما أدري ذو القَرْنين أنَبيًّا كان أم لا، وما أدري الحدودُ كفاراتٌ لأهلِها أم لا؟ " (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not know whether Tubba' (the king of Yemen) was accursed or not; and I do not know whether Dhu al-Qarnayn was a prophet or not; and I do not know whether the (legal) hadd punishments are an expiation for those who receive them or not."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

Hadith 2205

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا أحمد بن عيسى اللَّخْمي، حدثنا عمرو بن أبي سلمة، حدثنا أبو مُعَيد حفص بن غَيلان، حدثنا سليمان بن موسى، عن نافع، عن ابن عُمر، وعن عطاء بن أبي رَبَاح، عن ابن عبّاس؛ أنهما كانا يقولان: عن رسول الله ﷺ: "مَن اشترى بَيعًا فوَجَبَ له، فهو بالخيار ما لم يُفارِقْه صاحبُه، إن شاء أخذَه، فإن فارقَه فلا خِيارَ له" (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه بهذا اللفظ.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that they both used to report from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever buys something and the sale becomes binding for him, he has the option as long as he has not parted from his companion (the seller); if he wishes, he may take it. But once he has parted from him, he no longer has the option (to cancel)."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs did not record it with these words.
