حدثنا محمد بن صالح، حدثنا أبو سعيد محمد بن شاذان، حدثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم ومحمد بن رافع ومحمد بن يحيى، قالوا: حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرنا مَعمَر، عن ابن أبي ذئب، عن سعيد بن أبي سعيد، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ما أدري أتُبَّعٌ لعينًا كان أم لا، وما أدري ذو القَرْنين أنَبيًّا كان أم لا، وما أدري الحدودُ كفاراتٌ لأهلِها أم لا؟ " (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I do not know whether Tubba' (the king of Yemen) was accursed or not; and I do not know whether Dhu al-Qarnayn was a prophet or not; and I do not know whether the (legal) hadd punishments are an expiation for those who receive them or not."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.
