أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا إسماعيل بن إسحاق القاضي، حدثنا سليمان بن حَرْب. وحدثنا محمد بن صالح بن هانئ، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى، حدثنا أبو الرَّبيع؛ قالا: حدثنا حمَّاد بن زيد، حدثنا أيوب، عن أبي قِلَابة: أَنَّ أَبا ثَعْلبة (1) الخُشَني أتى النبيَّ ﷺ فقال: قلت: يا رسول الله، إنا بأرضٍ أرضِ أهل كتابٍ، يشربون الخمور ويأكلون الخنازير، فما ترى في آنيَتِهم وقُدورِهم؟ فقال: "دَعُوها ما وجدتُم عنها بُدًّا، فإذا لم تَجِدُوا عنها بُدًّا فاغسِلُوها بالماء" أو قال: "انضَحُوها بالماء"، ثم قال: "اطبُخُوا فيها وكُلُوا". قال حماد: وأحسَبُه قال: "واشرَبوا" (2). وهكذا رواه شعبة عن أيوب:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we live in a land of the People of the Book; they drink wine and eat the flesh of swine. What is your view about their vessels and cooking pots?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave them as long as you can find an alternative to them, but if you find no other way, wash them with water," or he said: "Sprinkle water on them. Then cook in them and eat." Hammad said: I think he (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "And drink."
أخبرَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، حدثنا أبو المثنَّى ومحمد بن أيوب وأحمد بن عمر بن حفص قالوا: حدثنا عَمْرو بن مرزوق، أخبرنا شُعْبة، عن أيوب، عن أبي قِلَابة، عن أبي ثَعْلبة الخُشَني: أنه سأل النبيَّ ﷺ فقال: إنا بأرضٍ عامَّتُه أهلُ كتاب، فكيف نَصنَعُ بآنيَتِهم؟ فقال: "دَعُوا ما وجدتُم منها بُدًّا، فإذا لم تجِدُوا منها بُدًّا فاغسِلُوها بالماء ثم اطبُخوا" (1). وهكذا رواه خالد الحذَّاء عن أبي قِلابة:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "We are in a land whose population is mostly People of the Book, so what should we do with their vessels?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave them as long as some other means is available to you, but if you find no other way, wash them with water and then cook in them."
حدثنا أبو علي الحسين بن علي الحافظ، أخبرنا محمد بن الحسين بن مُكرَم، حدثنا نصر بن علي، حدثنا أبو أحمد، حدثنا سفيان، عن خالدٍ، عن أبي قِلَابة، عن أبي ثعلبة الخُشَني قال: سألت النبيَّ ﷺ عن آنيةِ المشركين، فقال: "اغسِلُوها ثم اطبُخوا فيها" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه، فإن علَّلاه بحديث حمَّاد بن سَلَمة وهُشَيم عن خالد حيث زاد أبا أسماءَ الرَّحَبي في الإسناد، فإنه أيضًا صحيح يلزم إخراجه في "الصحيح"، على أنَّ أبا قِلابةَ قد سمع من أبي ثَعْلبة. أما حديث حمَّاد بن سَلَمة:

هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه، فإن علَّلاه بحديث حمَّاد بن سَلَمة وهُشَيم عن خالد حيث زاد أبا أسماءَ الرَّحَبي في الإسناد، فإنه أيضًا صحيح يلزم إخراجه في "الصحيح"، على أنَّ أبا قِلابةَ قد سمع من أبي ثَعْلبة. أما حديث حمَّاد بن سَلَمة:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the vessels of the polytheists, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wash them, then cook in them."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Bukhari and Muslim, but the two Shaykhs did not record it. And if it is declared defective on account of the narration of Hammad bin Salamah and Hushaym, in which Khalid added Abu Asma' al-Rahabi to the chain, it is still sahih and should have been recorded in the Sahih; moreover, Abu Qilabah did hear from Abu Tha'labah.

فأخبرَناه أبو بكر إسماعيل بن محمد الفقيه بالرَّيّ، حدثنا أبو حاتم الرازي، حدثنا أبو سَلَمة وحجَّاج بن مِنْهال قالا: حدثنا حمَّاد بن سَلَمة، عن أيوب، عن أبي قِلَابة، عن أبي أسماءَ الرَّحَبي، عن أبي ثعلبة الخُشَني أنه قال: يا رسول الله، إنا بأرضِ أهل الكتاب، فنَطَبُخُ في قُدورِهم، ونَشرَبُ في آنيتِهم؟ قال: "فإن لم تَجِدُوا غيرَها فارحَضُوها" (1). وأما حديث هُشَيم:
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "O Messenger of Allah, we live in a land of the People of the Book; may we cook in their pots and drink from their vessels?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you do not find other vessels besides them, then wash them."
فحدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتيبة، حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى، أخبرنا هُشَيم، عن خالد الحذّاء، عن أبي قِلَابة، عن أبي أسماء [عن أبي ثعلبة الخُشَني قال: سألتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ فقلت: إنّا نَغزو ونسير في أرض] (2) المشركين، فنحتاجُ إلى آنيةٍ من آنيتهم فنطبخُ فيها، فقال: "اغسِلُوها بالماء ثم اطبُخوا فيها، وانتفِعُوا بها" (3). كلا الإسنادين صحيح على شرط الشيخين.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "We are in the land of the polytheists on campaigns and journeys, and we need some of their vessels; may we cook in them?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wash them with water, then cook in them and make use of them."
Both of these chains are sahih (authentic) on the condition of Bukhari and Muslim.
