It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "It has been told to me that supplication remains suspended between the heavens and the earth; no part of it rises upward (to the court of Allah) until blessings are sent upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Imam al-Tirmidhi recorded this hadith in his Sunan (no. 486) and Shaykh al-Albani declared it hasan (good); this narration is a mawquf (halted) saying of Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), or the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sat with him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "O Abu Dharr, have you prayed the forenoon (Duha) prayer?" Then the narrator mentioned the whole hadith, in which there is also (the saying) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Truly, the most misguided of people is the one in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send blessings upon me." (peace and blessings be upon him)
Imam al-Harith also narrated the same in his chain through Ubaydullah bin Muhammad bin A'ishah, Hammad, Ibn Hilal al-Anazi and a man.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no servant who sends blessings upon me once, with sincerity of heart and complete devotion, except that Allah Almighty writes for him in return ten blessings (mercies), records ten good deeds in his record of deeds, erases ten of his sins, and raises him ten degrees." Imam Ishaq said: I asked Abu Usamah: Did Sa'id bin Sa'id Abu al-Sabbah narrate to you, from Sa'id bin Umayr bin Uqbah, from his paternal uncle Sayyiduna Abu Burdah bin Niyar (may Allah be pleased with him), this saying of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Abu Usamah affirmed it and said: Yes.
Imam al-Nasa'i recorded it in his book 'Amal al-Yawm wa al-Laylah' through Zakariyya bin Yahya and Abu Kurayb; and the hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) is among the first hadith of the chapter on the Prophets (peace and blessings be upon them).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), advising us, said: "Do not make me like the rider's cup (which he keeps with him merely as a secondary item for his own need). For when the rider hangs his baggage on his mount, he takes his cup and fills it with water; then if he needs to make ablution, he makes ablution, and if he needs to drink, he drinks; otherwise he pours out whatever is in it. (Never do that; rather,) remember me at the beginning of your supplication, in the middle of the supplication and at the end of the supplication (with remembrance and blessings)."
Imam al-Bayhaqi recorded this hadith in 'Shu'ab al-Iman'; however, due to the weakness of Musa bin Ubaydah al-Rabadhi in its chain, its standing is weak according to the hadith scholars.

So whenever any servant sends blessings upon me, that angel will say (in my presence): 'O Muhammad, so-and-so son of so-and-so sends blessings upon you.' The angel will call him by his own name and his father's name, and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, in return for that one blessing, will send down ten mercies upon that person."
Imam al-Harith bin Abi Usamah recorded this hadith in his Musnad; its chain contains Abd al-Aziz bin Aban al-Umawi, who is matruk (abandoned) and da'if (weak) according to the hadith scholars. However, the basic subject of the virtues of sending blessings and of blessings being conveyed through angels is established by other sahih hadith and supporting evidence.

Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) became concerned and followed him (peace and blessings be upon him), carrying water in an earthenware vessel and a vessel for ablution. He found him (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrating in one of his small gardens, so he moved aside and sat behind him (peace and blessings be upon him) until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed head and said: "O Umar, you did very well when, seeing me in prostration, you moved aside from me. Truly, Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me and told me: Whoever sends blessings upon you once, Allah Almighty will send down ten mercies upon him and raise him ten degrees."
Imam Abu Bakr recorded this hadith.

Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had settled on the pulpit and sat down, his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Prophet of Allah, upon what did you say Amin? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me and said (invoking against them): 'May the nose of the man be rubbed in the dust (may he be humiliated) who found his parents, or one of them, (in their old age) and did not enter Paradise (by serving them).' It was said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when you mounted the pulpit you said "Amin" three times; what is the reason for that? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Truly, Jibril (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and said: 'May that person be deprived of Allah's mercy who found the month of Ramadan and was not forgiven, then (dying in that state) entered the Fire; may Allah Almighty keep him far from His mercy.
