Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The first to be clothed in a garment of fire will be Iblis. He will place it on his eyebrow (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) on his eyebrows, and he will drag it behind him, and his offspring will be after him (the narrator is unsure, or perhaps the words are:) behind him, and he will be crying out: 'O destruction!' And his offspring will say twice: 'O destruction!' until they reach Hell. Then Iblis will say: 'O my destruction!' and they will say: 'O our destruction!' Then it will be said to them: 'Do not call out for one destruction today; rather, call out for many destructions.'"
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih except Ali bin Zayd, and he has been declared trustworthy.

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) states: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When Allah Almighty gathers all people on one plain on the Day of Resurrection, Hell will come forward, one part of it mounting upon another, while its guardian angels hold it back, and it will be saying: 'By the might of my Lord, either my people are handed over to me, or I will seize all the people at once.' The angels will ask: 'Who are your people?' It will say: 'Every arrogant tyrant.' Then it will put out its tongue and snatch them from among the people and cast them into its belly. Then it will come back, one part of it mounting upon another, while its guardian angels hold it back, and it will say: 'By the might of my Lord, either hand my people over to me, or I will seize all the people at once.' The angels will ask: 'Who are your people?' It will answer: 'Every ungrateful tyrant.' Then it will snatch them from among the other people and put them into its belly. Then it will come back, one part of it mounting upon another, while its guardian angels hold it back, and it will say: 'By the might of my Lord, either hand my people over to me, or I will engulf all the people at once.' The angels will ask: 'Who are your people?' It will say: 'Every arrogant, boastful person.' Then it will seize them with its tongue and put them into its belly. Then it will draw back, and Allah Almighty will judge between His servants."

It will take them away five hundred years before all the other people."
