بَابٌ فِي أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، وَعَلَامَتِهَا ، وَأَوَّلِ مَنْ يُكْسَى حُلَلَهَا .

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ نَبِيًّا إِلَى قَوْمٍ فَقَبَضَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ بَعْدَهُ فَتْرَةً يَمْلَأُ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْفَتْرَةِ جَهَنَّمَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ صَدَقَةِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whenever Allah Almighty sent a prophet to a people and then caused that prophet to pass away, after him there remained a period in which no prophet was sent, and Allah Almighty will fill Hell with the people of that intervening period."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih except Sadaqah bin Sabiq, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
