(O Allah! Send down upon us the blessing of righteous people (that is, the mercy that descends upon them), righteous people who are neither sinners nor wicked, who stand in voluntary prayer at night and fast during the day.)
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Uthman bin Sa'd, whom Abu Nu'aym and others declared thiqah (trustworthy), while more than one scholar declared him da'if (weak); the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

'Allahumma kaburat sinni, wa raqqa azmi, faqbidni ilayk'
(O Allah! I have grown old and my bones have become weak, so take me to You.)
The narrator says: One day I was in the mosque of Damascus when a very handsome young man, wearing green clothing, said: "What is this supplication you are making?" He said: "O my nephew! Then what should I supplicate?" He said: "Say: 'Allahumma hasuna al-amal, wa balagha al-ajal' (O Allah! Make the deeds good and bring me to the appointed term, that is, death)."
I said: "Who are you, may Allah Almighty have mercy on you?" He said: "I am Raba'il, who removes grief from the hearts of the believers."

I make a covenant with You in this worldly life that if You entrust me to my own self, You will bring me near to evil and far from good, and I trust only in Your mercy; so make this a covenant for me with You, which You will fulfil for me on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not break the promise.)"
