Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites:
(There is no deity except Allah; He alone is the deity, He has no partner; to Him alone belongs the dominion, to Him alone belongs all praise, and He has power over all things)
these words will be for him like freeing 10 slaves, or one slave." Here the narrator is in doubt about a word.
(Allamah Haythami says:) I say: In the Sahih there is a hadith from this Companion other than this narration, about the one who recites this phrase ten times.
Ahmad and Tabarani recorded it; in one chain he recorded these words: "It will be for him like freeing 10 slaves from the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him)."
In this narration he did not mention the narrator's doubt. The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, and among the narrators of Tabarani is al-Hajjaj bin Nusayr, whom the majority have declared da'if (weak); Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat and said: He makes mistakes and falls into error (wahm). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Rabi' bin Khaytham says: Whoever recites: 'La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, yuhyi wa yumitu, wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir' (There is no deity except Allah; He alone is the deity, He has no partner; to Him alone belongs the dominion, to Him alone belongs all praise; He gives life and He gives death, and He has power over all things), (the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, says:) it will be for him like freeing four slaves from the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma'il (peace be upon him).
The narrator states: I asked Rabi' bin Khaytham: "From whom did you hear this narration?" He replied: "From Amr bin Maymun." The narrator says: I came to Amr bin Maymun and asked:
"From whom did you hear this narration?" He replied: "From Ibn Abi Layla." I came to Ibn Abi Layla and asked: "From whom did you hear this narration?" He told me: "From Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), and he narrated it from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

The narrator is in doubt about both these words. The narrators of both narrations are the narrators of the Sahih.

Here the narrator is in doubt about a word.
(Allamah Haythami says:) I say:

Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Sulaym bin Uthman al-Ta'i al-Fawzi, Abu Uthman al-Himsi, as mentioned in Mizan al-I'tidal. More than one scholar has declared him da'if (weak) on account of his memory. Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat and said: No one narrated from him except Sulayman bin Salamah al-Khaba'iri, and this narrator is da'if (weak); if another narrator from him is found, his hadith will be taken into consideration, and he will be placed with those regarding whom leniency is shown in criticism or commendation (jarh or ta'dil). Ibn Abi Hatim mentioned him and stated: He narrated from his father, and Muhammad bin Awf and Abu Utbah Ahmad bin Abi al-Faraj narrated from him; he is majhul (unknown) and narrated strange reports; three people narrated from him. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
