Urwah narrates: (His name and lineage are:) "Talhah bin Ubaydullah bin Uthman bin Amr bin Ka'b bin Sa'd bin Taym bin Murrah." Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) was in Syria; he came and spoke to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about his share, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) allotted him his share. He said: "O Messenger of Allah! And my reward?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will have your reward too." The narrator says: This means that it happened on the occasion of the Battle of Badr.
Al-Tabarani recorded it.
This report is mursal, and it is hasan (good) with respect to its chain.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were discussing the Battle of Uhud while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was standing in prayer. When he finished the prayer, after concluding it he (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards us and said: "Shall I tell you about the day of Uhud? At that time there was no one with me except Jibril on my right and Talhah on my left."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains al-Qa'qa' bin Zakariyya al-Talhi, and I do not know him. The rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: By Allah! One day I was in my house, while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions were in the courtyard, with a curtain between me and them. Meanwhile Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever would like to look at a man walking upon the earth who has fulfilled his vow, let him look at Talhah."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains Salih bin Musa, who is matruk (abandoned).

With the same chain it is reported that he said: "On the day of Uhud I carried the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on my back until he rose up; he got onto the rock and took cover from the polytheists. Then he gestured with his hand like this, that is, he pointed with his blessed hand behind my back, and said: 'This is Jibril, and he has told me that he will not see you in any terror on the Day of Resurrection without rescuing you from it.'"

With the same chain it is reported that he said: "The riding mounts of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were in my charge. A man came to him and asked him to give him (charge of) one of the mounts. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'That is up to Talhah bin Ubaydullah.' The man came to me and told me, but I did not agree. He went back to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him about it, and he said the same thing. Then he came to me and told me about it, and I did not agree. He went again to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said the same to him. He came back to me, and I thought to myself that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent him only because he wished to fulfil his need; whenever the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked for anything, he would do it. I thought: to be a cause of joy to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ought to be dearer to me than to be the one who saddles the mount of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So I handed it over to him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to go on a journey, and that man intended to saddle a mount for him. He came to me and asked: 'Which of the two mounts did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) like best?' I said: 'The Ta'ifi one.' So he saddled it for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and then brought it to him. When it set off carrying the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it stumbled and fell on its face. He asked: 'Who saddled this?' The people said: 'So-and-so.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Give this task back to Talhah!' So the task came back to me." Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: By Allah! Apart from this, I have never deceived anyone in Islam, and the purpose of this too was that the charge of the mount of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) should come back to me.
