Sayyiduna Amr bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The world will not come to an end until the Muslims have a garrison post at a place called 'Bulan', until they fight the Banu al-Asfar (the Romans). They will strive in the path of Allah, and the blame of any blamer will not hold them back concerning Allah, until Allah Almighty conquers Constantinople and Rome for them, which will be by means of tasbih and takbir (glorifying and magnifying Allah). The fort there will be demolished, and they will divide the wealth by placing it in shields." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then a caller will cry out: 'O people of Islam! The Dajjal has emerged in your lands and in your cities.' They will say: 'Who is this caller?' They will not know who he is. Then they will send someone ahead to look into whether the Dajjal has come. Those who went ahead will come back and say: 'We did not see anything, and we did not hear of it.' They will say: 'By Allah! This caller must have cried out from the sky or from the earth. Come, let us all go out. If the Dajjal has emerged, we will fight him until Allah Almighty judges between us and him, and He is the best of judges. And if it turns out otherwise, then they are your lands, your armies are there and your clans are there, and you will return to them.'" (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Ibn Majah recorded it in abridged form.
Al-Bazzar recorded it. Its chain contains Kathir bin Abdullah, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), while al-Tirmidhi declared his hadith hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have told you so much about the Dajjal that I feared (and he mentioned a word). Beware! He will be a short man, with a wide gap between his knees, curly-haired and one-eyed; one of his eyes will be wiped out, neither standing out nor sunken into a hollow. If you are confused about this, then know that you will not see your Lord until you die."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain contains Baqiyyah, who is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain).

Sayyiduna Nahik bin Suraym al-Sakuni (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will certainly fight the polytheists, until those of you who remain will fight the Dajjal at the river Jordan, you being on its eastern side and he on its western side." The narrator says: I do not know where on earth the Jordan was at that time.
Al-Tabarani and al-Bazzar recorded it, and the narrators of al-Bazzar are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him), the truthful and the one confirmed as truthful, saying: "The one-eyed Dajjal, the one of misguidance, will emerge from the direction of the east at a time when there is disagreement and division among the people. He will travel, in forty days, as far as Allah wills, and Allah knows best what their length will be. The believers will face severe hardship during that time. Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) will descend from the sky and lead the people in prayer. Then, when he raises his head from the bowing and says 'Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah' (Allah hears the one who praises Him), Allah Almighty will kill the Dajjal, and the Muslims will prevail." I swear that Sayyiduna Abu al-Qasim, the truthful and the one confirmed as truthful (peace and blessings be upon him), said: "It is true, and it is near; everything that is coming is near."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Ali bin al-Mundhir, who is thiqah (trustworthy).

Meanwhile someone will cry out: 'The Dajjal has come behind you among your families.' So they will put aside everything they have with them, set out, and fight."

It is also narrated from him (Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Dajjal will not be able to enter Madinah; rather he will halt within the trench, and on every pass leading to Madinah there will be angels guarding the city. The first to follow him will be women, and they (the people) will harm him, until he returns in anger and camps by the trench. At that time Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) will descend."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), while mentioning the Dajjal, said: "I will tell you something about him that no prophet before me has told: he will be one-eyed, and Allah Almighty is not one-eyed, and between the Dajjal's two eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever)." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Every believer, whether literate or not, will be able to read this word. The Dajjal will remain on earth for forty days. He will reach every city except these two cities, Madinah and Makkah; Allah Almighty has made both of these cities forbidden to him. One of his days will be like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of his days will be like your ordinary days. He will remain only forty days."

Uryan bin al-Haytham narrates: I went to Yazid bin Mu'awiyah. While we were sitting with him, a man came to him, took his cushion and leaned on it. We asked: "Who is this gentleman?" Someone said: "This is Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him)." One of us said: "O Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him)! We keep hearing hadiths reported from you." He said: "O people of Iraq, you take hadith from those at the bottom and do not take it from those at the top." The people mentioned the Dajjal, so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Is there a place in your land called 'Kutha', a salty marshland with date palms?" We replied: "Yes." So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Dajjal will emerge from there."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said about the Dajjal: "You should have no confusion about him, for Allah Almighty is not one-eyed. The Dajjal will emerge and remain on earth for forty days. He will reach every place, except that he will not be able to reach the Ka'bah, Bayt al-Maqdis and Madinah. (At that time) a month will be like a week and a week like a day. The Dajjal will have with him a Paradise and a Hell; his Hell will in reality be Paradise, and his Paradise will in reality be Hell. With him will be a mountain of bread and a river of water. He will summon a man, and Allah Almighty will give the Dajjal power over that man alone. The Dajjal will ask: 'What do you say about me?' The man will say: 'You are the enemy of Allah; you are the lying Dajjal.' So the Dajjal will call for a saw, place it on his head and split him into two parts, until the man's body falls to the ground. Then the Dajjal will bring him back to life and ask: 'What do you say?' The man will say: 'By Allah! I never had such clear insight about you as I have now. You are the enemy of Allah, the Dajjal, about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) told us.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then the Dajjal will lunge at him with his sword, but will not be able to overpower him, so he will say: 'Take him away from me.'"

Jubayr bin Nufayr narrates from his father that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the Dajjal and said: "If he emerges while I am among you, I will stand as a barrier against him on your behalf; and if he emerges when I am not among you, then every person will have to protect himself, and Allah Almighty will be, in my place, the guardian of every Muslim. Beware! One of his eyes will be wiped out, and he will resemble Abd al-Uzza bin Qatan al-Khuza'i. Beware! Between his two eyes will be written 'Kafir' (disbeliever), which every Muslim will read. Whoever of you meets him should recite Surah al-Fatihah before him. Beware! I have seen that he will emerge from a place between Syria and Iraq and will go to the right and to the left. O servants of Allah, remain steadfast!" He said this three times. It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! How fast will he move through the earth?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Like a cloud driven along by the wind." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! How long will he remain on earth?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He will remain forty days, of which one day will be like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of the days like your ordinary days." The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! How will we perform the prayer at that time? Will we offer the prayers of one day, or will we make an estimate?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, you will make an estimate for it."
