Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "After me nothing remains of prophethood except the mubashshirat (glad tidings)." The people asked: O Messenger of Allah, what are the mubashshirat? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Good dreams which a servant sees himself, or which are seen for him (by someone else)." The narrators of Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih.
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, though al-Bazzar's wording is: "Which a righteous man sees."

Sulayman bin Arib reports from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The dreams of a believer are glad tidings from Allah Almighty, and they are one part of the forty-six parts of prophethood." The narrator says: I narrated this hadith to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One of the fifty parts of prophethood (that is, it is a fiftieth part)."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: The hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) is mentioned in the Sahih, without the hadith narrated from Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him).
Al-Bazzar recorded it; al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; and Abu Ya'la recorded it as a marfu' hadith, though with the words "a sixtieth part". Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Ishaq, who is a mudallis, and the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).

Al-Tabarani and al-Bazzar recorded it, though al-Bazzar's wording is: "He interprets dreams." The chain of al-Tabarani contains a narrator whom I do not know, and the chain of al-Bazzar is saqit (very weak).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A good dream is one part of the seventy parts of prophethood; and the samum (scorching wind) from which the jinn were created is one part of the seventy parts of Hell; and this (worldly) fire of yours is a seventieth part of the fire of Hell.
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak). This report has various chains, which have passed earlier in the chapter on walking to the mosques and waiting for one prayer after another.
