Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The greatest of lies is that a person ascribes himself to someone other than his father; and the greatest of lies is that a person shows his eyes what they have not seen (that is, he relates a false dream); and that a person alters the (boundary) markers of the land."
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abu Uthman al-Abbas bin al-Fadl al-Basri, who is matruk (abandoned).

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever deliberately lies about a dream will be obliged on the Day of Resurrection to tie a knot (between grains) of barley." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Al-Tirmidhi recorded this report, but he did not transmit the word "deliberately".
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-A'la bin Amir al-Tha'labi, who is da'if (weak).

Sayyiduna Abu Shurayh al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most insolent of people towards Allah Almighty is the one who kills someone other than his killer, or who seeks revenge in the era of Islam for blood shed in the era of Jahiliyyah, or who shows his eyes in sleep what they have not seen (that is, he relates a false dream)."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This report is mentioned in the Sahih, but without the words: "or who shows his eyes".
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
