Sayyiduna Abu al-Yusr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her): "O Aishah! Indeed, Allah Almighty has sent down a ruling about your innocence." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "I praise Allah Almighty; I do not praise you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went out from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her); he sent for Abdullah bin Ubayy and gave him the punishment of two prescribed punishments. Then he sent for a man named Mistah and a woman named Hamnah, and had them beaten as well.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed regarding the child of a husband and wife who have undertaken li'an (mutual imprecation) that the child will inherit from his mother and his mother will inherit from him; whoever accuses that woman of fornication will be given eighty lashes, and whoever calls her son one born of fornication will also be given eighty lashes.
