Majma al-Zawaid 10685 — The prescribed punishment for false accusation

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) decreed regarding the child of a husband and wife who have undertaken li'an (mutual imprecation) that the child will inherit from his mother and his mother will inherit from him; whoever accuses that woman of fornication will be given eighty lashes, and whoever calls her son one born of fornication will also be given eighty lashes.
Ahmad recorded it by way of Ibn Ishaq, and stated that Amr bin Shu'ayb mentioned it. If there is an explicit statement of hearing in this, then its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); otherwise it is a narration by 'an'anah (using "from") of Ibn Ishaq, and he is a mudallis; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
