وَعَنْ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - : لَا حَدَّ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَيْنِ : أَنْ تُقْذَفَ مُحْصَنَةٌ ، أَوْ يُنْفَى رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَبِيهِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَلَكِنَّ رِجَالَهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Al-Qasim narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There is a prescribed punishment in one of two cases only: that you accuse a chaste woman of fornication, or that you deny a man's lineage from his father."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; the narrator al-Qasim did not hear from his grandfather Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), though its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
