Abu Shaykh al-Huna'i said: Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to some of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Do you know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking from vessels of gold and silver? They replied: Yes.

In one narration the wording is: I was among some Companions, and Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I ask you by Allah: do you know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade drinking from silver vessels?" They replied: "Allah knows, yes!" Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "And I too bear witness to that."
Imam Ahmad mentioned this narration within a long hadith, and Imam al-Tabarani recorded part of it. The narrators of Imam Ahmad are the narrators of the Sahih, except Abu Shaykh al-Huna'i, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

Imam Ahmad recorded this narration within a long hadith, and Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, adding these words: "the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade silk that is pure silk; but if its warp or its weft is of silk, then there is no harm in wearing it." The narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih.

Kulthum bin Jabr narrates: They were at Wasit al-Qasab with Abd al-A'la bin Abdullah bin Amir. With him was a man called Abu al-Ghadiyah. He asked for water, and water was brought to him in a vessel plated with silver, so he refused to drink from it (that vessel) and mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) — after this the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.
Imam Ahmad recorded this narration in the course of a hadith, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Its chain contains Muhammad bin Yahya bin Abi Saminah, whom Abu Hatim, Ibn Hibban and others declared thiqah (trustworthy); there is some criticism of him that does no harm. The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).

Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir. Its chain contains Abu Taybah Abdullah bin Muslim, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy); he said: "He makes mistakes and contradicts others." The remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).

(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: the hadith of Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) is mentioned in the Sahih.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration. Its chain contains Sulayman bin Amr, and he is matruk (abandoned).
