Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a man to eat with his left hand or to drink with his left hand.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it. Its chain contains Ubaydullah or Abdullah bin Daqhan, from whom Rawh narrated; he narrated from Hisham bin Hassan. No one has declared him weak, and the remaining narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whoever eats with his left hand, the devil eats with him; and whoever drinks with his left hand, the devil drinks with him."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat recorded it. Ahmad's chain contains Rishdin bin Sa'd, and he is da'if (weak), though he has been declared trustworthy; the other chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, and his narration is hasan (good).

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When one of you eats, let him not eat with his left hand; when he drinks, let him not drink with his left hand; when he takes something, let him not take it with his left hand (or: when he receives something, let him not receive it with his left hand); and when he gives something, let him not give it with his left hand."
Ahmad recorded it.
It is mursal, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her), the honoured wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to his bed, he would lie down on his right side. His right hand was for eating, drinking, performing ablution, dressing, taking hold of things and giving things, and his left hand was for other tasks. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Abu Dawud recorded the opening part of this report.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Zayd narrates the account of a woman from his family: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me while I was eating with my left hand; I was a left-handed woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck my hand and the morsel fell. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not eat with your left hand! Allah Almighty has given you a right hand." (The narrator is unsure; perhaps the words are:) He said: "Allah Almighty has freed your right hand (i.e. it can be used)." The narrator says: That woman said: So I moved the tasks of my left hand over to my right hand, and I never ate with it (the left hand) again.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, and Ahmad's narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while there was food in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) put forward his left hand to eat. He says: My right hand was injured. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat with the right hand." He said: "It is injured." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) blew (with a little of his saliva) on it, and after that Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) never had any pain in that hand until he passed away.
Al-Tabarani recorded it by way of Sufyan bin Farwah from one of the two sons of Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him), and I do not know either of them. The remaining narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Subay'ah al-Aslamiyyah eating with her left hand and said: "What is the matter with her? She is eating with her left hand; I find her to be a corrupt woman." She said: "O Prophet of Allah! There is an ulcer on my hand." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if it be the death of a cow." The narrator says: Later, the plague seized that woman and caused her death. In one narration the words are: "And where is the death of a cow?"
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Dukhayn al-Hajari, and a group of narrators whom I do not know. If the narrator Dukhayn is Abu al-Ghusn, then he is da'if (weak).
