Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Adorn your Eids with the takbir!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Umar bin Rashid, whom Ahmad, Yahya bin Ma'in and al-Nasa'i (may Allah have mercy on him) declared da'if (weak), while al-Ijli said: There is no harm in him.

Sayyiduna Shurayh bin Abrahah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); during the days of Tashriq, from the Zuhr prayer on the day of sacrifice until he left Mina, he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say the takbir after every obligatory prayer. Al-Shadhakuni says: This is also the way the people of Madinah say the takbir.
Al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Sharqi bin Qutami, whom Zakariyya al-Saji declared da'if (weak); Ibn Hibban mentioned him in the book al-Thiqat, and Ibn Adi mentioned him in the book al-Kamil.
It is reported about Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to say the takbir from the morning prayer on the day of Arafah until the Asr prayer on the day of sacrifice.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever spends the night of Eid al-Fitr and the night of Eid al-Adha in worship, his heart will not die on the day when hearts die."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Umar bin Harun al-Balkhi, in whom weakness predominates. Ibn Mahdi and others praised him, but a large group declared him da'if (weak). And Allah knows best.
Muhammad bin Ubaydullah narrates from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take a ritual bath (ghusl) for the two Eids.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; the narrator Mindal has been criticised, and I do not know this Muhammad or the narrators above him.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan, then goes to the Eid prayer ground after taking a ritual bath (on the day of Eid), and seals it with charity (that is, sadaqat al-fitr), when he returns he has already been forgiven."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Nasr bin Hammad, who is matruk (abandoned).
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We used to eat and drink (on the day of Eid al-Fitr), take a ritual bath, and then set out for the Eid prayer ground.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains Ibrahim bin Yazid al-Makki, who is matruk (abandoned).
Hushaym narrates: I said to Yazid bin Abi Ziyad: "Is a ritual bath to be taken on any day other than the day of Jumu'ah?" He replied: "Yes! The day of Arafah is a day of Eid; (a ritual bath is to be taken) on the day of Eid al-Fitr, the day of Eid al-Adha, the day of Arafah and the day of Jumu'ah."
Abu Ya'la recorded it; Hushaym and Yazid are both among the narrators of the Sahih.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to wear a red cloak on the day of Eid.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
