Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Ablution should not be performed with the water left over from her ritual bath for janabah."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

In al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, al-Tabarani has recorded these words from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in a state of janabah and intended to eat something or to sleep, he would perform ablution. Its chain contains a narrator, Ishaq bin Ibrahim al-Qarqasani, and the chain of this narration is hasan (good).

In al-Mu'jam al-Kabir this narration is reported from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to sleep while in a state of janabah, he would perform ablution like the ablution for prayer, and when he intended to eat something, he would wash his hands.
The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir are thiqat (trustworthy). Among the narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir is Jabir al-Ju'fi, about whom there is disagreement as to whether he can be used as evidence.

Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had relations with his wife and then did not wish to get up, he would strike his hand on the wall and perform tayammum (dry ablution). Sayyiduna Malik bin Abdullah al-Ghafiqi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate some food, then he said: "Screen me so that I may bathe." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Were you in a state of janabah?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes!" The narrator says: I told Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about this. He came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said to him: "This man says that you ate while in a state of janabah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! When I have performed ablution, I eat and drink, but I do not recite (the Qur'an) and I do not pray until I have bathed."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, in whom there is weakness, and it also contains a narrator who is not known.

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains Ahmad bin Yahya bin Malik al-Tunusi; Ibn Abi Hatim gave his biography in his book and said: "He is saduq (truthful)." Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy), and the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).

Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, Qays bin al-Rabi', whom Shu'bah and Sufyan declared thiqah (trustworthy) and others declared da'if (weak); however, lying has not been attributed to him.

Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Yusuf bin Khalid al-Samti, about whom Yahya bin Ma'in said: "He is a great liar, wicked, and an enemy of Allah."

With the same chain, it is also reported from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the angels do not come near a person in a state of janabah, nor one smeared with (forbidden) perfume, until both of them have bathed."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and the same criticism applies to it as to the narration before it.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He should not eat anything until he performs ablution." I said: "O Messenger of Allah! May a person in a state of janabah sleep?" He said: "I do not like that he should sleep in a state of janabah until he performs ablution, for I fear that if he dies in that state, Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) will not come to him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain mentions that Uthman bin Abd al-Rahman narrated it from Abd al-Hamid bin Yazid. The narrator Uthman bin Abd al-Rahman is al-Harrani al-Tara'ifi, whom Yahya bin Ma'in declared thiqah (trustworthy). Abu Hatim says: "He is saduq (truthful)." Abu Arubah al-Harrani and Ibn Adi say: "There is no harm in him; he narrates from unknown people." Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) and Abu Ahmad al-Hakim say: "He narrated from weak people." Abu Hatim says: "In narrating from weak people he resembles Baqiyyah."
