Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Malik al-Ghafiqi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate some food, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Screen me so that I may bathe." I said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! Were you in a state of janabah?" He said: "Yes!" I told Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) about this, so he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "This man says that you ate while in a state of janabah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! When I have performed ablution, I eat and drink."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain also contains Ibn Lahi'ah.
