Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1490

In al-Mu'jam al-Kabir this narration is reported from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to sleep while in a state of janabah, he would perform ablution like the ablution for prayer, and when he intended to eat something, he would wash his hands.
The narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir are thiqat (trustworthy). Among the narrators of al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Saghir is Jabir al-Ju'fi, about whom there is disagreement as to whether he can be used as evidence.
