Urwah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) reported that Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Ever since I came of understanding, I found my parents only upon Islam, and not a single day passed except that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to our house morning and evening."
Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was born upon Islam, because her parents were upon Islam from the very beginning. It is also narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married her she was six years old, when she was sent to his house she was nine, and when he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away she (may Allah be pleased with her) was eighteen years old. Sayyidah Asma' bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), however, was born in the Jahiliyyah, and then became Muslim through her father's Islam, because when she emigrated to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) she was pregnant with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both). Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) gave birth to him (Ibn al-Zubayr) in Quba', and she did not nurse him until she brought him to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) rubbed something on his palate (did tahnik) and supplicated for him, and he was the first child born in Islam after the arrival in Madinah.

Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was pregnant with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) in Makkah. When I set out (for the emigration), I was at full term. I reached Quba' in Madinah and gave birth to him there. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) placed him in his lap, then called for a date, chewed it and put it in the mouth of Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and also put in his own saliva. So the first thing to enter the stomach of Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) was the saliva of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for him and prayed for blessing for him, and he was the first child born in Islam.

Dawud bin al-Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I used to read with Umm Sa'd bint al-Rabi', who had been raised as an orphan in the care of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). I recited the verse: "And those with whom your oaths have made a pact" [Surah al-Nisa': 33]. She said: "Do not recite it like that; rather it is: 'And those with whom your oaths have made a pact' [Surah al-Nisa': 33]." This verse was revealed concerning Abu Bakr and his son Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with them both), when Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) refused to accept Islam, so Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) swore that he would deprive him of inheritance. When he became Muslim, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): "Give him his share."
One narration has the words that he was only brought to Islam by the sword.
Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Al-Waqidi held that Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) became Muslim during the truce of al-Hudaybiyah; Ali bin Zayd held that he emigrated to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with some young men of Quraysh before the Conquest of Makkah; Abu Ubaydah held that in the Jahiliyyah Abd al-Rahman's (may Allah be pleased with him) name was Abd al-Uzza, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) named him "Abd al-Rahman"; and Mus'ab bin Abdullah held that the mother of Abd al-Rahman and Aishah, Umm Ruman bint Amir (may Allah be pleased with her), accepted Islam and her Islam was excellent.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam, people gathered around him and began saying: "Umar has left his religion!" I was on the roof of the house. Al-As bin Wa'il came, wearing a cloak of silk, and said: "Umar has left his religion, but I have given him my protection." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The people dispersed, and I was greatly amazed at his standing that day.
Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam while Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was still a boy, so he too became Muslim through Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). This is based on the hadith that is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) reviewed me on the day of Uhud when I was fourteen (14) years old, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) considered me too young. It has also been said that Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) both became Muslim before their father, and Abdullah was young at that time, so his Islam was completed through his father's Islam.
As for Sayyiduna al-Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), he went out to Badr with the polytheists and was taken captive, until he ransomed himself and accepted Islam.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that some men of the Ansar sought permission from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), saying: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Give us permission to waive the ransom of our sister's son, Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah! Do not leave even a single dirham." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was a child at that time, but his mother had become Muslim, so Abdullah too became Muslim through his mother's Islam.
Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was, with his mother, among the oppressed weak ones, and he was not with his father upon the religion of his people.

Ubaydullah bin Abi Yazid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I heard Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) say: My mother and I were among the oppressed weak ones; my mother was among the women and I was among the children.

It is reported from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this verse: "Except the oppressed among the men, women and children who are unable to devise a plan and are not directed to a way" [Surah al-Nisa': 98], that is, the weak among the men, women and children who had no means and found no way out. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "My mother and I were among those whom Allah excused."

Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Islam increases and does not decrease."
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب اللقطة / 12153
Abd al-Warith (may Allah have mercy on him) also narrated it, from a man, from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him), likewise as the Prophet's words. What was meant, and Allah knows best, is that the ruling of Islam prevails, and part of its prevailing is that the child is judged to be Muslim when either one of his parents becomes Muslim.
Hadith Referenceالسنن الكبرى للبيهقي / كتاب اللقطة / 12154
Sayyiduna A'idh bin Amr and Sayyiduna Abu Sufyan bin Harb (may Allah be pleased with them both) came on the day of the Conquest of Makkah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is A'idh bin Amr and Abu Sufyan. Islam is mightier than both of them; Islam rises high and nothing rises above it."
Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Al-Hasan, Shurayh, Ibrahim and Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on them) said: When one of the two (parents) becomes Muslim, the child follows the Muslim one.
