Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When Banu Qurayzah said that they would accept whatever judgement Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) gave, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for him, and he lived nearby. He came riding a donkey, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Stand up to receive your chief." He came and sat beside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These people have agreed to your judgement." He said: My judgement concerning them is that their fighting men be killed and their children be taken captive. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have judged concerning them with the very judgement of Allah Almighty."

Muhammad bin Yahya bin Habban said that a boy was brought before Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) who, in his poetry, had accused a girl of committing fornication with him. When they looked, it was found that his pubic hair had not grown, so he (may Allah be pleased with him) waived the prescribed punishment (hadd) from him. Abu Ubayd said: Some narrate it from Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). Abu Ubayd said: Ibtahara means that he made the accusation "I did this with her" while he is lying in his claim; if he really did it, that is called ibtiyar.
