It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: "By Allah! Were it not for a particular matter, I would not narrate any hadith to you." The people said (supposing so): You had said that the Hour would come by such-and-such a time. He clarified: "I only said that it would not happen until such-and-such great matters had taken place," and those matters have taken place, such as the burning of the House of Allah, and so on. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Dajjal will emerge and will stay in my Ummah for as long as Allah wills." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Forty" (the narrator says:) I do not know whether forty nights, months or years. Then he said: "Then Allah Almighty will send Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him), who will resemble (in appearance) Urwah bin Mas'ud al-Thaqafi. He will seek him out and destroy him. Then the people will remain for seven years in such a state that there will be no enmity even between two men. Then Allah Almighty will send a cool wind from the direction of Syria, which will not leave on the face of the earth anyone in whose heart there is even an atom's weight of faith except that it will take his soul, so much so that if one of you were hiding even in the interior of a mountain, that wind would enter there too." I heard these words, that is, 'the interior of a mountain', from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then the worst of people will remain, with the swiftness of birds and the minds of beasts of prey; they will neither recognise good nor forbid evil. Then Satan will come to them and say: Will you not obey me? They will ask: What do you command us? He will command them to worship idols, and they will begin worshipping them. Even in this state their provision will be abundant and their life prosperous. Then the Trumpet will be blown, and everyone who hears it will tilt his neck to one side (in terror). The first to hear it will be a man plastering the water trough of his camels; he will fall unconscious, and then all the people will fall unconscious. Then Allah Almighty will send down a rain like dew, from which people's bodies will grow (again). Then the Trumpet will be blown again, and suddenly they will be standing and looking on. Then it will be said: Come to your Lord, 'And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned' [Surah al-Saffat: 24]. Then it will be said: Bring out the contingent of Hell. It will be asked: How many? The reply will be: Out of every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine (999)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I see what you do not see and I hear what you do not hear. The sky is creaking (under the weight of the angels), and it has every right to creak, for there is not a space in it the size of four fingers except that an angel is prostrating in it before Allah. By Allah! If you knew what I know, you would laugh little and weep much, you would not take pleasure in your women on your beds, but you would go out to the heights and open plains, crying out humbly before Allah." (Hearing this, Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said:) By Allah! I wish that I were a tree that would be cut down.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever of you lives to see Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him) should convey my greeting of salam to him."
I think that this narrator Isma'il is Isma'il bin Ayyash, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not accept him as evidence.
