مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُمَدَّ فِي رِزْقِهِ فَلْيَصِلْ ذَا رَحِمِهِ

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا بحر بن نصر بن سابق الخَوْلاني، حدثنا عبد الله بن وَهْب، أخبرني يحيى بن أيوب، عن عبيد الله بن زَحْر، عن القاسم بن عبد الرحمن، عن عُقْبة بن عامر قال: لقيتُ رسولَ الله ﷺ فَبَدَرتُه فأخذتُ بيده، وبَدَرَني فأخذ بيدي، فقال: "يا عقبةُ، ألا أُخبرك بأفضلِ أخلاقِ أهل الدنيا والآخرة؟ تَصِلُ من قَطَعَك، وتُعطي مَن حَرَمَك، وتَعفُو عمن ظلمَك، ألا ومن أراد أن يُمَدَّ في عمره ويُبسَطَ في رزقِه، فليَصِلْ ذا رَحِمِه" (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I hastened to take hold of his hand, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) also hastened to take hold of my hand. Then he said: "O Uqbah! Shall I not tell you of the best character of the people of this world and the Hereafter? It is that you join the one who cuts you off, give to the one who deprives you, and forgive the one who wrongs you. Indeed! Whoever wishes that his life be lengthened and his provision be expanded, let him join his ties of kinship."
أخبرنا أبو الحسين أحمد بن عثمان البزَّاز ببغداد، حدثنا العباس بن محمد الدُّوري، حدثنا أبو بكر عبيد الله (1) بن عبد المجيد الحَنَفي، حدثني معاوية بن [أبي] (2) مُزرِّد، حدثني عمِّي أبو الحُباب سعيد بن يَسَار، قال: سمعتُ أبا هريرة يقول: سمعتُ النبيَّ ﷺ يقول: "إِنَّ الله ﷿ لما فَرَغَ من الخلق، قامت الرَّحِمُ فَأَخَذَت بحَقْو الرحمن، فقال: مَهْ، فقالت: هذا مَقامُ العائذ بك من القَطيعة، فقال: أَتَرضَيْنَ أَن أَصِلَ من وَصَلَك، وأَقْطعَ من قَطَعَك"، اقرؤُوا إن شئتم ﴿فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَنْ تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوا أَرْحَامَكُمْ﴾ إلى قوله: ﴿أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ﴾ [محمد: 22 - 24] (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Indeed, when Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, finished creating the creation, the womb (kinship) stood up and took hold of the haqw (waist) of the Most Merciful. Allah said: 'Stop.' It said: 'This is the station of one who seeks refuge with You from being severed.' Allah said: 'Are you not pleased that I join (with My mercy) whoever joins you, and cut off whoever cuts you off?'" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite, if you wish, from: 'Would you then, if you turned away, cause corruption on the earth and sever your ties of kinship?' up to: 'Do they not then reflect upon the Qur'an?' [Surah Muhammad: 22-24]."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

حدثنا أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا محمد بن شاذانَ الجَوهَري، حدثنا عمرو بن مرزوق، أخبرنا شُعبة. وأخبرني أحمد بن موسى الفقيه، حدثنا إبراهيم بن أبي طالب، حدثنا محمد بن المثنّى ومحمد بن بشّار قالا: حدثنا محمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شُعبة، قال: سمعتُ محمد بن عبد الجبار يحدِّث عن محمد بن كعب، عن أبي هريرة، عن النبيِّ ﷺ قال: "إِنَّ الرَّحِمَ شُجْنةٌ من الرحمن، تقول: يا ربَّ إِنِّي قُطِعتُ، إِنِّي أُسِيءَ إِليَّ يا ربِّ، فيُجيبُها ربُّها فيقول: ألا تَرضَيْنَ أن أَصِلَ من وَصَلَكِ، وأقطعَ من قَطَعَكِ" (4).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the womb (kinship) is a branch from the Most Merciful. It says: 'O my Lord! I have been cut off! O my Lord! I have been treated badly!' Then its Lord answers it, saying: 'Are you not pleased that I join whoever joins you, and cut off whoever cuts you off?'"
