أخبرنا الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا بشر بن موسى، حدثنا الحُميدي، حدثنا سفيان، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن أبي عبد الرحمن قال: تزوَّج رجلٌ، فكَرِهَت أُمُّه ذلك، فجاء يسأل أبا الدرداء، فقال: أطِعِ المرأة، فإنِّي سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "الوالدةُ أوسَطُ أبوابِ الجنَّة"، فأضِعْ ذلك أو احفَظْ (1). رواه شُعْبةُ عن عطاء بن السائب مفسَّرًا بالشرح:

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man got married and his mother disliked it. He came to Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask about it, and he said: Obey your mother, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The mother is the best, the middle, of the gates of Paradise." Now it is up to you whether you waste this virtue or preserve it.

Hadith 7439

أخبَرناه أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا يحيى بن محمد بن يحيى، حدثنا مسدَّد، حدثنا خالد بن الحارث، حدثنا شعبة، عن عطاء بن السائب، عن أبي عبد الرحمن: أنَّ رجلًا أمَرَه أبَوَاه - أو أحدُهما - أن يُطلِّقَ امرأتَه، فجعل ألفَ محرَّر - أو قال: مئة محرَّر (2) - وماله هَدْيًا إن فَعَلَ، فأتى أبا الدرداء، فذكر أنه صلَّى الضُّحى ثم سأله فقال: أَوْفِ بنَذْرك، وبِرَّ والدَيكَ، فإنِّي سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "الوالدُ أوسَطُ أبواب الجنَّة"، فإن شئتَ فحافِظْ على الباب أو اترُكْ (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man was ordered by his parents, or by one of them, to divorce his wife. He vowed that if he did so he would free a thousand slaves, or a hundred slaves, and pledged his wealth as an offering. Then he came to Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him); (the narrator) mentioned that he prayed the Duha prayer, and then the man asked him. He said: Fulfil your vow and be kind to your parents, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The father is the best, the middle, of the gates of Paradise." Now it is up to you whether you guard this gate or abandon it.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 7440

أخبرني الحسن بن حَليم (4) المروَزي، أخبرنا أبو الموجِّه، أخبرنا عَبْدانُ، أخبرنا عبد الله، أخبرني ابن أبي ذئب، حدثني خالي الحارث بن عبد الرحمن، عن حمزة بن عبد الله بن عمر، عن أبيه قال: كانت تحتي امرأةٌ تُعجبني، وكان عمرُ يكرهُها، فقال لي: طلِّقْها، فأَبيتُ، فأتى عمرُ رسولَ الله ﷺ، فقال: يا رسولَ الله، إنَّ عند عبد الله بن عمر امرأةً قد كرهتُها، فأمرتُه أن يُطلِّقَها فأَبى، فقال لي رسول الله ﷺ: "يا عبدَ الله بنَ عمر، طلِّقِ امرأتَك، وأطِعْ أباك"، قال عبدُ الله: فطلَّقتُها (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I had a wife whom I liked, but Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) disliked her. He said to me: Divorce her. I refused. Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) has a wife whom I dislike; I told him to divorce her, but he refused. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abdullah bin Umar! Divorce your wife and obey your father." Abdullah said: So I divorced her.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.
