Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) was among the most God-fearing and the most devoted to kinship ties

It is narrated from Yazid bin al-Asamm, the nephew (sister's son) of Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), that he said: I and the son of Talhah bin Ubaydullah (who was the nephew of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her)) met Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) as she was coming from Makkah. We had gone into one of the orchards of Madinah and eaten some fruit from it. When this reached her, she turned to her nephew, reproaching and scolding him; then she turned to me and gave me an eloquent admonition, and said: "Do you not know that Allah Almighty drew you along until He placed you among the household of His Prophet? By Allah, Maymunah has gone, and now your rope has been thrown over your back (that is, now you have no one watching over you). Indeed, she was the most God-fearing of us all towards Allah and the most diligent of us in upholding the ties of kinship (being good to relatives)."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), that she said: One night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out from my place, and I shut the door behind him. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) came back and wanted the door opened, I refused to open it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I adjure you to open the door for me." I said: Did you go to your other wives on the night of my turn? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I did not do so; rather, I felt an urgent need to urinate (so I went out)."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sisters are true believers: Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); her sister Umm al-Fadl bint al-Harith; her other sister Salma bint al-Harith, the wife of Hamzah; and their sister through their mother, Asma' bint Umays."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Ata' that he said: We were present with Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) at the funeral of Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) at Sarif. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "This is Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her); when you lift her bier, do not shake it much or jolt it, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had nine wives; he (peace and blessings be upon him) divided the turns among eight, and one had no turn allotted to her." Ata' says: She (the one who had no turn allotted) was Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), and they did not record it.

It is narrated from Qatadah bin Di'amah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Maymunah bint al-Harith bin Farwah, who was the sister of Umm al-Fadl, the wife of Sayyiduna al-Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib. This marriage took place when he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah in Makkah. She had offered herself to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as a gift, and it was about her that this verse was revealed: "And a believing woman if she offers herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet wishes to marry her; this is exclusively for you, not for the other believers." [Surah al-Ahzab: 50] Then she came with him (peace and blessings be upon him) to Madinah. Before him (peace and blessings be upon him) she had been married to Farwah bin Abd al-Uzza bin Asad of Banu Ghanm bin Dudan.
