It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When these verses were revealed: "Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he" up to "And his wife, the carrier of firewood; around her neck is a rope of palm fibre" [Surah al-Masad: 1, 4-5], it was said to the wife of Abu Lahab (Umm Jamil): "Indeed Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has satirised (condemned) you." So she came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was sitting in a gathering, and said: "O Muhammad, for what reason are you satirising me?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah, I have not satirised you; it is only Allah who has satirised you." She said: "Have you seen me carrying firewood, or have you seen a rope of palm fibre around my neck?!" Then she left. After that, no revelation came down to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for some days, so she came again and said: "O Muhammad, I think that your companion (meaning Allah) has abandoned you and become displeased with you." So Allah Almighty revealed this surah: "By the morning brightness, and by the night when it grows still, your Lord has not abandoned you, nor is He displeased" [Surah al-Duha: 1-3].
This chain is sahih (authentic) just as this Shaykh narrated it to us, except that I have found a hidden defect ('illah) in it.

It is narrated from Yazid bin Zayd (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: When this verse was revealed: "Perish the hands of Abu Lahab" [Surah al-Masad: 1], then the narrator mentioned the whole hadith in the same way, word for word. Concerning the words of Allah Almighty: "And as for the favour of your Lord, proclaim it" [Surah al-Duha: 11], I did not find any marfu' hadith or any statement of the Companions, so I have mentioned two statements of the Successors (Tabi'in) about it.

It is narrated from Abu Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "O company of young men! Take advantage (of your time). Hardly a night passes over me in which I do not recite a thousand verses; I recite Surah al-Baqarah in a single rak'ah; I fast in the sacred months, and three days of every month (the White Days), and Monday and Thursday." Then he recited this verse: "And as for the favour of your Lord, proclaim it" [Surah al-Duha: 11].

It is narrated from Amr bin Maymun (may Allah have mercy on him) that he would meet a man from among his brothers and say: "Last night Allah Almighty granted me so much prayer (tahajjud), and granted so much goodness and good."
Imam al-Hakim says: May Allah Almighty have mercy on Amr bin Abdullah al-Sabi'i and Amr bin Maymun al-Awdi, for they drew attention to something that encourages young people towards worship. (Tafsir of Surah Alam Nashrah):
The two Shaykhs agreed upon the hadith of Qatadah, which he narrates from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) from Malik bin Sa'sa'ah regarding the Mi'raj, which mentions the splitting open of the chest of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and what was taken out of it. Thabit al-Bunani narrated it from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) without mentioning Malik bin Sa'sa'ah, apart from the event of the Mi'raj, with additional wording, as follows (in the next hadith):
