Tafsir of Surah al-Duha: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was shown what would be opened up for his Ummah after him

Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was shown the conquests that his Ummah would attain after him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was pleased by that. So Allah Almighty revealed these verses: "By the morning brightness, and by the night when it grows still" up to His words: "And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied" [Surah al-Duha: 1-2, 5]. He (Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both) said: So Allah Almighty granted him (peace and blessings be upon him) a thousand palaces of pearl in Paradise, whose soil is musk, and in every palace is everything befitting it.
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I asked Allah a question which I wish I had not asked. I mentioned the messengers of my Lord and said: 'You subjugated the wind for Sulayman (peace be upon him), and You spoke to Musa (peace be upon him).' So Allah Almighty said: 'Did I not find you an orphan and give you shelter, and find you lost and guide you, and find you in need and make you self-sufficient?'" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I said: 'Yes (O my Lord).' So I wished that I had not asked Him that question."
The chain of this hadith is sahih (authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
