حدَّثنا أبو علي الحسين بن علي الحافظ، أخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن وَهْب الحافظ، أخبرنا عبد الله بن محمد بن يوسف الفِرْيابي، حدثني أبي، حدَّثنا سفيان، عن عُبيد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن مَوهَب، قال: سمعتُ عليَّ بن الحسين يحدِّث عن أبيه، عن جدِّه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ستةٌ لَعنتُهم، ولَعَنَهم الله وكلُّ نبيٍّ مُجابٍ: الزائدُ في كتاب الله، والمكذِّبُ بقَدَر الله، والمتسلِّطُ بالجَبَروتِ ليُذِلُّ من أعزَّ اللهُ ويُعِزَّ من أذلَّ الله، والتاركُ لسُنَّتي، والمستحِلُّ من عِتْرتي ما حرَّم الله، والمستحلُّ لحُرَم الله (1). قال سفيان: اقرؤوا سورة ﴿وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى﴾: ﴿فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى (5) وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى (6) فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى (7) وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى (8) وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى (9) فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى﴾. هكذا حدَّثَناه أبو علي، وله إسنادٌ صحيح أخشى أني ذكرتُه فيما تقدَّم (2):

Sayyiduna Ali bin al-Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him)), that he said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Six people I have cursed, and Allah and every prophet whose supplication is answered has cursed them: (1) the one who adds to the Book of Allah, (2) the one who denies the decree of Allah, (3) the one who takes control with arrogance and tyranny in order to humiliate those whom Allah has honoured and to honour those whom Allah has humiliated, (4) the one who abandons my Sunnah, (5) the one who regards as lawful, with regard to my offspring (the Ahl al-Bayt), what Allah has made unlawful, (6) and the one who regards as lawful what Allah has made unlawful." (After narrating this hadith,) Sufyan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Recite the surah "By the night when it covers": "As for he who gives and fears (Allah), and affirms the best (reward), We will ease him towards ease. But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need, and denies the best (reward), We will ease him towards difficulty." [Surah al-Layl: 5-10] Abu Ali (al-Husayn bin Ali al-Hafiz) narrated this hadith to us in this way, and it has (another) sahih chain which I fear I have already mentioned earlier.
حدَّثَناه عبد الله بن جعفر بن دَرَستَوَيهِ الفارسي، حدَّثنا يعقوب بن سفيان، حدَّثنا إسحاق بن محمد الفَرْوي، حدَّثنا عبد الرحمن بن أبي المَوَال (1)، عن عبيد الله بن مَوهَب، عن عَمْرة، عن عائشة قالت: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "ستةٌ لَعنتُهم، لَعَنَهم الله وكلُّ نبيٍّ مجاب: الزائدُ في كتاب الله، والمكذِّبُ بأقدار الله، والمتسلِّطُ بالجَبَروت ليُذِلُّ من أعزَّ الله ويُعزَّ من أذلَّ الله، والمستحِلُّ لحُرَمِ الله، والمستحِلُّ من عِتْرتي ما حرَّم الله، والتاركُ لسُنَّتي" (2). قد احتجَّ الإمامُ البخاري بإسحاق بن محمد الفَرْوي وعبد الرحمن بن أبي المَوَال في "الجامع الصحيح"، وهذا أولى بالصواب من الإسناد الأول.

Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) used Ishaq bin Muhammad al-Farwi and Abd al-Rahman bin Abi al-Mawal as evidence in his "al-Jami' al-Sahih", and this chain is more correct than the first chain.

حدَّثنا أحمد بن سهل الفقيه ببُخارَى، حدَّثنا صالح بن محمد بن حبيب الحافظ، حدَّثنا سعيدٌ بن يحيى الأُمَوي، حدثني عمِّي عبد الله بن سعيد، عن زياد بن عبد الله، عن محمد بن إسحاق قال: حدثني محمد بن عبد الله بن أبي عَتِيق، عن عامر بن عبد الله بن الزُّبير، عن أبيه قال: قال أبو قُحَافة لأبي بكر: أَراك تُعتِقُ رِقابًا ضِعافًا، فلو أنك إذ فعلتَ ما فعلتَ، أعتقتَ رجالًا جُلْدًا يَمنعونَك ويقومون دُونَك، فقال أبو بكر: يا أبت، إني إنما أريدُ ما أريد، إنما نَزَلت هذه الآياتُ فيه: ﴿فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى (5) وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى (6) فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى﴾ إلى قوله ﷿: ﴿وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى (19) إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى (20) وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَى﴾ (3).

Amir bin Abdullah bin al-Zubayr narrates from his father that he said: Abu Quhafah (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him): I see that you free weak slaves. If you want to do this, then free strong and powerful men who would defend you and stand up for you. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "O my father, I only intend what I intend (that is, the pleasure of Allah)." So these verses were revealed concerning him: "As for he who gives and fears (Allah), and affirms the best (reward), We will ease him towards ease," up to the saying of Allah Almighty: "And not for anyone with him is any favour to be recompensed, but only seeking the Face of his Lord, the Most High. And he is surely going to be pleased." [Surah al-Layl: 5-7, 19-21]
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
