أخبرنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنبَري، حدَّثنا محمد بن عبد السلام، حدَّثنا إسحاق بن إبراهيم، أخبرنا جَرِير، عن منصور، عن مجاهدٍ، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ (1) وَأَنْتَ حِلٌّ بِهَذَا الْبَلَدِ﴾، قال: أُحِلَّ له أن يَصنَعَ فيه ما شاءَ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty "I swear by this city, and you are free (to act) in this city" [Surah al-Balad: 1-2], that he said: (It means that on the occasion of the Conquest of Makkah) it was made lawful for him (peace and blessings be upon him) to do whatever he wished in this city (that is, to fight and enforce rulings).
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 3976

أخبرنا عبد الرحمن بن الحسن القاضي بهَمَذان، حدَّثنا إبراهيم بن الحسين، حدَّثنا آدم بن أبي إياس، حدَّثنا وَرْقاءُ، عن ابن أبي نَجيحٍ، عن مجاهدٍ، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ﴾، قال: يعني بالوالد: آدم، وما وَلَدَ: ولدَه (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty "And by the father and what he begot" [Surah al-Balad: 3], that he said: "The father" means Adam (peace be upon him), and "what he begot" means his offspring.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 3977

أخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله الشافعي، حدَّثنا إسحاق بن الحسن، حدَّثنا أبو حُذَيفة، حدَّثنا سفيان، عن ابن جُرَيج، عن عطاء، عن ابن عبَّاس: ﴿لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ﴾، قال: في شِدَّة خَلْقٍ في ولادته، ونَبَتِ أسنانِه وسَرَره، ومعيشته وخِتَانِه (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty "We have certainly created man in hardship" [Surah al-Balad: 4], that he said: (What is meant is that man) has been created in toil and hardship through the stages of his birth, the growing of his teeth, the cutting of his navel cord, the struggle for a livelihood, circumcision and the like.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 3978

حدَّثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدَّثنا أحمد بن عبد الجبار العُطارِدي، حدَّثنا أبو بكر بن عيَّاش، حدَّثنا عاصم، عن زرٍّ، عن عبد الله: ﴿وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ﴾ قال: الخيرَ والشرَّ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty "And We showed him the two ways" [Surah al-Balad: 10], that he said: What is meant is the two paths of good and evil.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.
