أخبرنا أبو العبَّاس قاسم بن القاسم السَّيّاري، حدَّثنا محمد بن موسى الباشَاني، حدَّثنا علي بن الحسن بن شَقِيق، حدَّثنا الحسين بن واقد، عن الأعمش، عن أبي صالح، عن أبي هريرة في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا﴾ قال: هي الملائكةُ أُرسِلَت بالعُروف (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "By those sent forth in succession" [Al-Mursalat: 1], that he said: It refers to the angels who have been sent with commands of goodness and virtue.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 3931

أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدَّثنا أحمد بن مِهْران، حدَّثنا عُبيد الله بن موسى، حدَّثنا إسرائيل، حدَّثنا سِمَاك بن حَرْب، عن خالد بن عَرعَرة قال: قام رجل إلى علي فقال: ما العاصفاتُ عَصْفًا؟ قال: الرِّياح (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Khalid bin Ar'arah (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man stood up before Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked: What is meant by "al-'asifat 'asfan" (those that blow violently)? He said: It refers to the fierce, violent winds.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 3932

أخبرني أبو بكر الشافعي، حدَّثنا إسحاق بن الحسن، حدَّثنا أبو حُذَيفة، حدَّثنا سفيان، عن عبد الرحمن بن عابس: سمعتُ ابنَ عبَّاس وسُئِل عن هذه الآية: (تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كالقَصَرِ (1)) [المرسلات: 32]، قال: كنا في الجاهلية نَقصُر (2) ذراعين أو ثلاثةً، فنَرفعُه في الشتاء ونسمِّيه القَصَرَ. قال: وسمعتُ ابنَ عبَّاس وسُئِل عن ﴿جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ﴾ [المرسلات: 33] قال: حِبالُ السُّفن يُجمَع بعضُها إلى بعض حتى تكون كأوساط الرِّجال (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه! 78 - تفسير (عمَّ يتساءلون) ﷽

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he was asked about this verse: "Indeed, it throws sparks like the qasar" [Al-Mursalat: 32], and he said: In the days of ignorance (Jahiliyyah) we used to gather pieces of wood two or three cubits long into a heap and store them away for the winter, and we called it "al-qasar". The narrator said: I also heard Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), when he was asked about "yellow camels (jimalatun sufr)" [Al-Mursalat: 33], say: It refers to the thick ropes of ships that are joined to one another until they become as thick as the waists of men.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it!
