أخبرنا أبو العبَّاس قاسم بن القاسم السَّيّاري، حدَّثنا محمد بن موسى الباشَاني، حدَّثنا علي بن الحسن بن شَقِيق، حدَّثنا الحسين بن واقد، عن الأعمش، عن أبي صالح، عن أبي هريرة في قوله ﷿: ﴿وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا﴾ قال: هي الملائكةُ أُرسِلَت بالعُروف (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "By those sent forth in succession" [Al-Mursalat: 1], that he said: It refers to the angels who have been sent with commands of goodness and virtue.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

(2) إسناده حسن من أجل محمد بن موس بن حاتم الباشاني. أبو صالح: هو ذكوان السمّان. والعُرْف: ضد النُّكْر.
Grading: Its chain is "hasan" because of Muhammad bin Musa bin Hatim al-Bashani. Abu Salih is "Dhakwan al-Samman". And "al-'urf" is the opposite of "al-nukr" (evil), i.e. good.
