حَدَّثَنَا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبد الوهاب، حَدَّثَنَا يعلى بن عُبيد، حَدَّثَنَا ابن إسحاق، عن الصَّبّاح بن محمد، عن مُرَّةَ، عن عبد الله: ﴿أَهُمْ يَقْسِمُونَ رَحْمَتَ رَبِّكَ نَحْنُ قَسَمْنَا بَيْنَهُم﴾ الآية [الزخرف: 32]، فقال عبد الله: سمعتُ رسول الله ﷺ يقول: "إنَّ الله قَسَمَ بينكم أخلاقَكم كما قَسَمَ بينكم أرزاقَكم، وإِنَّ الله يُغطي الدنيا مَن أحبَّ ومن لا يُحِبُّ، ولا يُعطي الدِّينَ إِلَّا من يحبُّ، فمن أعطاه الدِّينَ فقد أحبَّه" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah Almighty: "Is it they who distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have distributed among them" [Surah al-Zukhruf: 32], that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has distributed your characters among you just as He has distributed your provisions among you. And indeed, Allah Almighty gives the world both to those He loves and to those He does not love, but He gives the religion only to those He loves. So whoever Allah has given the wealth of the religion, Allah has loved him."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

أخبرنا الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، حَدَّثَنَا الحسن بن علي بن زياد، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن عبيد بن حِسَاب، حَدَّثَنَا محمد بن ثَوْر، عن مَعمَر، عن قَتَادة: أنه تلا هذه الآية: ﴿فَإِمَّا نَذْهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنَّا مِنْهُمْ مُنْتَقِمُونَ﴾ [الزخرف: 41] فقال: قال أنس: ذَهَبَ رسولُ الله ﷺ وَبِقَيت النِّقمةُ، ولم يُرِ اللهُ نبيَّه ﷺ في أمَّته شيئًا يكرهُه حتَّى مَضَى، ولم يكن نبيٌّ إلَّا قد رأى العقوبةَ في أمَّته إلَّا نبيَّكم ﷺ (1). صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Qatadah that he recited this verse: "So even if We take you away (from the world), We will surely take retribution on them" [al-Zukhruf: 41], and then said that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) departed, but the retribution (punishment) remained. Allah Almighty did not show His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) anything displeasing in his Ummah that would pain his (peace and blessings be upon him) eyes until he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away. And there was no prophet who did not see punishment in his Ummah (during his own lifetime), except your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

حدثني علي بن عيسى الحِيرِي، حَدَّثَنَا مسدَّد بن قَطَن، حَدَّثَنَا عثمان بن أبي شَيْبة، حَدَّثَنَا معاوية بن هشام، حَدَّثَنَا سفيان، حَدَّثَنَا المُغيرة بن النُّعمان، عن سعيد بن جُبير، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "يُؤْخَذُ بناسٍ من أصحابي ذاتَ الشِّمال فأقول: أصحابي أصحابي! فيقال: إنَّهم لم يزالوا مُرتدِّين على أعقابهم بعدَك، فأقولُ كما قال العبدُ الصالحُ عيسى ابن مريمَ: ﴿وَكُنْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًا مَا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي كُنْتَ أَنْتَ الرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ﴾ [المائدة: 117] " (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه!

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(On the Day of Resurrection) some people from among my companions will be taken to the left (towards Hell), and I will call out: My companions! My companions! It will be said: These people kept turning back on their heels after you. Then I will say what the righteous servant (Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam, peace be upon him) said: 'And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them.' [Surah al-Ma'idah: 117]"
