Mustadrak al-Hakim 3715 — No people go astray after guidance

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No people went astray after being guided except that they were given over to disputation (jadal)." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "They did not present it to you except for argument; rather, they are a quarrelsome people." [al-Zukhruf: 58]
This hadith is sahih (authentic) in its chain of narration, and the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: On the basis of corroborations and supporting reports its chain is "hasan", because of Abu Ghalib (al-Basri, who settled in Isfahan), who is not very strong, but he has been corroborated. There is no harm in the narrators below him.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Imam Ahmad (36/ 22164 etc.), Ibn Majah (48) and al-Tirmidhi (3253) through various routes via Hajjaj bin Dinar, with this chain. Imam al-Tirmidhi called it "hasan sahih".
Reference / Source: It was narrated by Ibn Abi Hatim in his "Tafsir" and Ibn Battah in "al-Ibanah al-Kubra" (2/ 485) via Mu'ammal bin Isma'il, from Hammad bin Zayd, from Abu Makhzum, from al-Qasim bin Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Umamah. Hammad said: I do not know whether he narrated it as marfu' or not.
Grading: This chain is fit for consideration (i'tibar), although Abu Makhzum (whose name is Hammad) is unknown (jahalah) and there is criticism of Mu'ammal bin Isma'il's memory.
