حدثني أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا محمد بن شاذانَ الجَوهَري، حدثنا مُعلَّى بن منصور، حدثنا ابن أبي زائدة، عن محمد بن إسحاق، عن أبان بن صالح، عن القعقاع بن حَكيم، عن سَلْمى أخت أبي رافع (3)، عن أبي رافع قال: أمَرنا رسول الله ﷺ بقتل الكلاب، فقال الناس: يا رسول الله، ما أُحِلَّ لنا من هذه الأُمَّة التي أمرتَ بقتلها؟ فأنزل الله: ﴿يَسْأَلُونَكَ مَاذَا أُحِلَّ لَهُمْ قُلْ أُحِلَّ لَكُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتُ وَمَا عَلَّمْتُمْ مِنَ الْجَوَارِحِ مُكَلِّبِينَ﴾ [المائدة: 4] (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to kill dogs. The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is permitted to us from this kind (of animal) which you have commanded to be killed?" Then Allah Almighty revealed this verse: "They ask you what has been made lawful for them. Say: Lawful for you are all good things, and (the game caught by) the hunting animals you have trained" [Surah al-Ma'idah: 4].
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 3252

حدثنا أبو العبَّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن عفَّان العامري، حدثنا يحيى بن فَصِيل (2)، حدثنا الحسن بن صالح، عن سِمَاك بن حَرْب، عن عِكْرمة، عن ابن عبَّاس قال: إنما أُحِلَّت ذبائحُ اليهود والنصارى من أجل أنهم آمنوا بالتَّوراة والإنجيل (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the slaughtered animals of the Jews and Christians have been made lawful only because they believed in the Torah and the Injil (Gospel).
This hadith has an authentic (sahih) chain of narration, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Hadith 3253

حدثنا أبو الحسن علي بن محمد القُرشي بالكوفة، حدثنا الحسن بن علي بن عفَّان العامري، حدثنا مُصعَب بن المقدام، حدثنا سفيان بن سعيد، عن الأعمش، عن مجاهد، عن ابن عبَّاس في قوله ﷿: ﴿جَعَلَ فِيكُمْ أَنْبِيَاءَ﴾ قال: جعل منكم (1) أنبياء ﴿وَجَعَلَكُمْ مُلُوكًا﴾ قال: المرأةُ والخادمُ ﴿وَآتَاكُمْ مَا لَمْ يُؤْتِ أَحَدًا مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ﴾ [المائدة: 20] قال: الذين هم بين ظَهرانَيهِم يومئذٍ (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) concerning this saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "He placed prophets among you" that it means He made prophets from among you; and concerning "and made you kings" he said: (It refers to one who has) a wife and a servant; and concerning "and gave you what He had not given anyone among the worlds" [Surah al-Ma'idah: 20] he said: (It refers to the people) who were present among them in that era.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Hadith 3254

حدثنا علي بن محمد القرشي، حدثنا الحسن بن علي، حدثنا مُصعَب ابن المِقدام، حدثنا سفيان، عن سَلَمة بن كُهيل، عن مالك بن حُصَين، عن أبيه، عن عليٍّ في قوله تعالى: ﴿رَبَّنَا أَرِنَا اللَّذَيْنِ أَضَلَّانَا مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ نَجْعَلْهُمَا تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِنَا﴾ [فصلت:29]، قال: إبليسُ، وابنُ آدمَ الذي قَتَل أخاه (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning this saying of Allah Almighty: "Our Lord, show us those two among the jinn and mankind who led us astray, so that we may put them beneath our feet" [Surah Fussilat: 29] that he said: "They are Iblis and that son of Adam (Qabil) who killed his brother."
