نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَنْ نَقْرَةِ الْغُرَابِ وَافْتِرَاشِ السَّبُعِ وَأَنْ يُوطِّنَ الرَّجُلُ الْمَكَانَ كَمَا يُوطِّنُهُ الْبَعِيرُ
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade pecking like a crow, spreading the arms like a beast of prey, and a man fixing a place for himself as a camel does

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق الصَّغاني، حدثنا أبو عاصم، حدثنا عبد الحميد بن جعفر، حدثني أَبي، عن تَمِيم بن محمود، عن عبد الرحمن بن شِبْل قال: نَهَى رسولُ الله ﷺ عن نَقْرة الغُراب، وافتراشِ السَّبُع، وأن يُوطِنَ الرجلُ المكانَ كما يُوطِنُه البعيرُ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح، ولم يُخرجاه لما قدَّمتُ ذِكرَه من التفرُّد عن الصحابة بالرواية (2).

Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Shibl (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade pecking like a crow (i.e. hurrying through the prayer), spreading out the arms like a beast of prey, and a man settling on one fixed place as a camel settles on its spot.
This hadith is sahih (authentic), and the two Shaykhs did not record it only because in it a single narrator alone reports from the Companion.

حدثنا أبو العباس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الرَّبيع بن سليمان، حدثنا شعيب بن الليث بن سعد، حدثنا أَبي، عن محمد بن عَجْلان، عن سُمَيٍّ مولى أبي بكر، عن أبي صالح عن أبي هريرة أنه قال: شَكَا أصحابُ رسول الله ﷺ مَشَقَّةَ السجود عليهم إذا انفَرَجُوا، فقال: "استَعِينوا بالرُّكَب". قال ابن عَجْلانَ: وذلك أن يَضَعَ مِرفَقَيهِ على رُكْبتيه إذا أطال السجودَ ودَعَا (1).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) complained to him (peace and blessings be upon him) of the strain they felt in prostration (from keeping their arms spread apart), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek help from your knees." Ibn Ajlan said: This means that when the prostration becomes long and one is supplicating, he should rest his elbows on his knees.

حدثنا أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنبَري، حدثنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن إبراهيم العَبْدي، حدثنا أبو صالح الحَكَم بن موسى القَنطَري، حدثنا الوليد بن مسلم، عن الأوزاعي، عن يحيى بن أبي كَثير، عن عبد الله بن أبي قَتَادة، عن أبيه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: "أسوأُ الناسِ سرقةً الذي يَسرِقُ صلاتَه" قالوا: يا رسول الله، كيف يسرقُ صلاتَه؟ قال: "لا يُتِمُّ ركوعَها ولا سجودَها" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه، والذي عندي أنهما لم يخرجاه لخلافٍ فيه بين كاتب الأوزاعي والوليد بن مسلم.

هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه، والذي عندي أنهما لم يخرجاه لخلافٍ فيه بين كاتب الأوزاعي والوليد بن مسلم.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst thief among people is the one who steals from his prayer." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, how does he steal from his prayer? He said: "He does not complete its bowing and its prostrations."
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it. In my view, the reason for this is a disagreement over it between the scribe of al-Awza'i and al-Walid bin Muslim.
