The virtue of waiting for the prayer after the prayer

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of that by which Allah Almighty wipes out sins and increases good deeds?" The Companions said: "Of course, O Messenger of Allah (please tell us)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing ablution (wudu) thoroughly despite hardship and dislike, and waiting for the next prayer after a prayer. There is no man among you who leaves his house, prays with the imam, and then sits waiting for the next prayer, except that the angels pray for him: 'O Allah, forgive him; O Allah, have mercy on him.'"
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, but they did not record it. This narration is gharib (unusual) from Sufyan al-Thawri, and only Abu Asim al-Nabil transmitted it from him.

Ziyad bin Abd al-Rahman al-Nakha'i narrates: We were sitting with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in the great mosque of Kufah, at a time when Kufah consisted of reed huts. The mu'adhdhin came and said: "O Commander of the Believers, the time of the Asr prayer has come." He said: "Sit down." So he sat down. Then he came again and said the same thing, so Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This dog is teaching us the Sunnah!" Then he stood up and led us in the Asr prayer. When we returned to the place where we had been sitting, we sat down on our knees, and the sun was inclining towards setting, and we were watching it.
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain; the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) used all of its narrators as evidence, yet they did not record it.

Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We used to pray Asr with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then we would slaughter a camel and divide it into ten portions, then cook it and eat the cooked meat before the sun set.
Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim agreed on Rafi' bin Khadij's narration about Maghrib, that after the prayer we could see where our arrows landed; but this narration about praying Asr early is on their condition, yet they did not record it.

Bashir bin Abi Mas'ud narrates from his father, Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray Asr while the sun was white and high; then a man would finish the prayer and reach Dhul-Hulayfah (which is six miles from Madinah) before the sun set.
The two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) recorded the narration of Bashir bin Abi Mas'ud through al-Zuhri with different wording, but they did not record this wording, even though it is sahih (authentic) on their condition.
