Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The supplication of the oppressed is surely accepted, even if he is a sinner and immoral, because his sinfulness and immorality concern only himself.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If there were no women and children in the houses, I would order the prayer of Isha to be established and then instruct my young men to set fire to whatever is in those houses.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If the mountain of Uhud were to be turned into gold for me, I would be pleased that I spend it in the way of Allah, and not even three days should pass over me with a single dinar or dirham remaining with me, except for that which I keep aside for the repayment of a debt that is due upon me.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first row among the rows of men is the best, and the last row is the closest to evil; and among the rows of women, the last row is the best, and the first row is the closest to evil.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has disliked three things for you and liked three things for you. He has liked that you worship Him alone and do not associate anyone with Him, that you hold firmly to the rope of Allah and do not be divided, and that you remain well-wishers of the rulers. And He has disliked that there be excessive talk, that wealth be wasted, and that too many questions be asked.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us to cover the water for ablution at night before sleeping, to tie the mouth of the water-skin, and to turn the vessels upside down.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I do not want to hear about any such person among you that when a hadith of mine is mentioned before him, he sits reclining on his couch and says, "Recite the Qur'an before me (do not recite hadith)." Whatever good reaches you from me, whether I have said it or not, it is indeed from me, and whatever false thing reaches you attributed to me, then remember that I do not say false things.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People should refrain from raising their eyes towards the sky during prayer, otherwise their eyesight will be taken away.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man was present in the gathering of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Where are you from?" He replied, "I am a Barbarian." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Get up from my presence." When he left, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Faith will not go below the throats of these people."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not make my grave a place of celebration, and do not make your homes into graveyards, and wherever you may be, continue to send blessings upon me, for your blessings will reach me.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until my Ummah becomes involved in the deeds of the previous nations, span by span and cubit by cubit. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), like the people of Persia and Rome did? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then who else besides them were among the previous people?

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that as long as the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was among us, our dowry was ten uqiyah of silver, and he joined his hands to show this. This amounts to a total of four hundred dirhams.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once in a dream I saw that I was drawing water from a reservoir and giving people water to drink. Then Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and, to give me relief, took the bucket from my hand and drew one or two buckets, but there were some signs of weakness in it. May Allah have mercy on him. Then Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me, he took the bucket, and the bucket became a large bucket in his hand. People drank their fill from it, and I have not seen any outstanding man draw water as well as Umar.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the funeral prayer, he would recite this supplication: O Allah, forgive our living and our deceased, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our men and our women. O Allah, whomever You keep alive from among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whomever You cause to die from among us, cause him to die upon faith.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Satan has despaired of being worshipped in your land of Arabia in two major ways, but he is pleased with those things which you consider insignificant.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "See what your Lord has said. He says: Whenever I bestowed blessings upon My servants, there was always a group among them who showed ingratitude for those blessings and kept saying, 'This is due to such-and-such star's influence,' and, 'This happened because of such-and-such star.'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a group of people were sitting in one place when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them and stood and said, "Shall I tell you who among you is the best and who is the worst?" The people remained silent. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated his statement three times. Then one of them said, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said, "The best among you is the one from whom good is expected and people are safe from his evil, and the worst among you is the one from whom no good is expected and people are not safe from his evil."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Man keeps saying, "My wealth, my wealth," whereas his wealth is only of three things: what he ate and consumed, what he wore and wore out, or what he gave in the way of Allah and made someone happy. Whatever is beyond this will be left for the people.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: No person should have intercourse with a woman who is pregnant from another man.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every newborn child is pricked by Satan, except for Jesus (peace be upon him) and his mother Mary (peace be upon her); this did not happen to them. Do you not see that when a child is born, he cries in some way? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah!" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is because Satan pricks him.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A disbeliever and his Muslim killer can never be gathered together in Hell.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, all people will be gathered on a mound, then the Lord of the worlds will look upon them, then it will be announced that every nation should follow those whom they used to worship. Thus, for the worshippers of the cross, a cross will be presented; for the worshippers of images, an image; and for the worshippers of fire, a representation of fire will be presented, and they will follow their deities, and only the Muslims will remain. Then the Lord of the worlds will look upon them and say: Why are you not going with the people? They will say: We seek refuge with Allah from You; Allah is our Lord, and we will remain here until we see our Lord. He will command them and keep them steadfast (then He will hide Himself and reappear to question and answer them again). The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah! Will we be able to see our Lord? The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on the night of the full moon? They replied: No. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then at that time you will have no difficulty in seeing Him either. In any case, after the third time of hiding, when He appears, He will grant them His recognition and inform them: I am your Lord, follow Me. Thus, the Muslims will stand up, and the bridge of Sirat will be set up, and the Muslims will cross it like the best horses and excellent riders, saying: "Save us, save us." The people of Hell will remain, and they will be thrown into Hell in groups, and it will be asked: Are you full? And it will say: Is there more? Another group will be thrown into it, and the same questions and answers will continue until the Most Merciful places His foot in it, and the parts of Hell will contract, and it will say: Enough, enough, enough. Then, when the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of Hell enter Hell, death will be brought and placed on the bridge of Sirat, and the people of Paradise will be called. They will look anxiously, fearing that they might be taken out of Paradise. Then it will be asked: Do you recognize this? They will say: Yes, O Lord! This is death. Then the people of Hell will be called and will look out in joy, hoping that perhaps they might be taken out from there. Then they will also be asked: Do you recognize this? They will say: Yes, this is death. Thus, by Allah's command, it will be slaughtered on the bridge of Sirat, and it will be said to both groups: The state in which you are now, you will remain in it forever; there will never be death again.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The expiation for a gathering is that when a person gets up from a gathering, he should say: "Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdika astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A good dream is one of the forty-six parts of prophethood.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard Hazrat Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) reciting (the Qur'an), so he said: "Abu Musa Ash'ari has been given a voice like that of Hazrat Dawud (peace be upon him)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you about the people of Paradise? The people of Paradise will be the weak and oppressed ones. Shall I not tell you about the people of Hell? The people of Hell will be every foolish and arrogant person.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you about the worst of people? Those who utter nonsense and mock others. Shall I not tell you about the best of people? Those among you who have the best character.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that it is narrated from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that my beloved and truthful Prophet Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) informed me that an army from this Ummah will go towards Sindh and Hind. If I witness that time and am martyred, then that is very good, and if I return alive, then I will be Abu Huraira al-Muharrar, the one who has been freed from the fire of Hell.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour (Day of Judgment) will be established while two men are engaged in buying and selling with each other; the cloth will be between them, they will have spread it out, but the transaction will not be completed. Similarly, a man will have milked his animal, but before he can drink it, the Hour will be established. A man will have lifted a morsel to his mouth, but before he can eat it, the Hour will be established. And a man will be plastering his pond, but before he can water it, the Hour will be established.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you not amazed at how, in such a strange way, the abuses of the Quraysh are kept away from me? They curse and revile a certain 'Mudhammam', while my name is Muhammad (not Mudhammam)."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, on the Day of Resurrection, the tribe of Aslam, Ghifar, and a portion of Muzaina and Juhaina will be better in the sight of Allah than Banu Asad, Banu Tai, and Banu Ghatafan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever enters Paradise will remain in bliss and comfort, will not be distressed, his clothes will not wear out, and his youth will not fade away. And in Paradise there will be such things as no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has ever imagined.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were sitting with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a cloud passed over from the sky. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you know what this is?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "This is 'anan' which is driving the earth's moisture to those people who do not thank Allah and never call upon Him. Do you know what is above you?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) know best." He said, "Its name is 'Raqee‘', it is a folded wave and a protected roof. Do you know what the distance is between you and it?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The distance is five hundred years." Then he said, "Do you know what is above that?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The second sky." He said, "Do you know what the distance is between you and it?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The distance is five hundred years." In this way, after mentioning all seven skies, he said, "Do you know what is above that?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Above that is the Throne (Arsh). Do you know what the distance is between it and the seventh sky?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) know best." He said, "The distance is five hundred years." He said, "Do you know what is beneath you?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) know best." He said, "The earth." He said, "Do you know what is beneath that?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) know best." He said, "The second earth." He said, "Do you know what the distance is between the two?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) know best." He said, "The distance is seven hundred years." In this way, after mentioning all seven earths, he said, "By Allah, if any one of you were to hang down with a rope to the seventh earth, he would reach it." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "He is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is, of all things, Knowing."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: In the sight of Allah, a strong believer is better, superior, and more beloved than a weak believer, and there is goodness in each. Strive for those things that benefit you and do not become helpless. If any matter overpowers you, then say: "Allah has decreed it thus, and Allah does what He wills." And protect yourself from "if" and "but," for "if" and "but" open the door of Satan.

Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would spread his hands in supplication in such a way that I could see the whiteness of his blessed armpits. The narrator says that in my opinion, this was on the occasion of the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Abu Jahl said to the chiefs of the Quraysh, "Does Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) place his face on the ground in your presence?" They said, "Yes." Upon this, he said, "By Lat and Uzza, if I see him doing so, I will trample his neck under my foot and rub his face in the dust." Saying this, he came towards the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was praying. He advanced to place his impure foot on the neck of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but suddenly he turned back and started running away, shielding himself with his hands from something. The chiefs of the Quraysh asked him, "What happened?" He said, "A trench of fire came between me and him, and various hands started reaching out towards me." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If he had come near me, the angels would have snatched away one of his limbs." And on this occasion, the last verses of Surah Al-‘Alaq were revealed: "Indeed, man transgresses..." to the end.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he reports from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Allah Almighty will say on the Day of Resurrection: "Where are those who loved one another for My sake? By My Majesty, today I will grant them a place in My shade, on a day when there is no shade except My shade."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until the land of Arabia becomes filled with rivers and streams, and until a rider travels between Iraq and Mecca and has no fear except of losing his way, and until killing (harj) becomes widespread. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by harj? He replied: Killing.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever, after every prayer, recites "Allahu Akbar" thirty-three times, "Subhan Allah" thirty-three times, and "Alhamdulillah" thirty-three times, thus reaching ninety-nine, and to complete one hundred says at the end: "La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer," then all his sins will be forgiven, even if they are as much as the foam of the sea.
