Hadith 8715
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الصَّلَوَاتُ الْخَمْسُ ، وَالْجُمُعَةُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ ، كَفَّارَاتٌ لِمَا بَيْنَهُنَّ مَا اجْتُنِبَتْ الْكَبَائِرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Five prayers and one Friday to the next Friday are expiation for the sins committed in between, provided that major sins are avoided.
Hadith 8716
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ شُبَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَائِمًا يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ ، فَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ : " مَنْ كَانَ أَصْبَحَ مِنْكُمْ صَائِمًا ، فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ ، وَمَنْ كَانَ أَصَابَ مِنْ غَدَاءِ أَهْلِهِ ، فَلْيُتِمَّ بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once on the day of Ashura, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) observed a fast and said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them): Whoever among you has kept a fast should complete his fast, and whoever has eaten something in the morning should not eat or drink for the rest of the day.
Hadith 8717
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ شُبَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأُنَاسٍ مِنْ الْيَهُودِ قَدْ صَامُوا يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا هَذَا مِنَ الصَّوْمِ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : هَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي نَجَّى اللَّهُ مُوسَى وَبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنَ الْغَرَقِ وَغَرَّقَ فِيهِ فِرْعَوْنَ ، وَهَذَا يَوْمُ اسْتَوَتْ فِيهِ السَّفِينَةُ عَلَى الْجُودِيِّ ، فَصَامَهُ نُوحٌ وَمُوسَى شُكْرًا لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَا أَحَقُّ بِمُوسَى وَأَحَقُّ بِصَوْمِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ فَأَمَرَ أَصْحَابَهُ بِالصَّوْمِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by some Jews who were observing the fast of Ashura. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked them, "What is this fast?" They replied, "On this day, Allah saved Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) and the Children of Israel from drowning and drowned Pharaoh. On this same day, the ark of Hazrat Nuh (peace be upon him) came to rest on Mount Judi. So Hazrat Nuh and Musa (peace be upon them) fasted on this day to thank Allah." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I have more right to Musa than you, and I am more deserving of fasting on this day." Thus, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed his companions to fast on this day.
Hadith 8718
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رَضِيَ لَكُمْ ثَلَاثًا ، وَكَرِهَ لَكُمْ ثَلَاثًا : رَضِيَ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا ، وَأَنْ تَنْصَحُوا لِمَنْ وَلَّاهُ اللَّهُ أَمْرَكُمْ ، وَأَنْ تَعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا ، وَكَرِهَ لَكُمْ قِيلَ وَقَالَ ، وَكَثْرَةَ السُّؤَالِ ، وَإِضَاعَةَ الْمَالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah has disliked three things for you and liked three things for you. He has liked that you worship Him alone and do not associate anyone with Him, that you hold firmly to the rope of Allah and do not be divided, and that you remain well-wishers of the rulers. And He has disliked that there be excessive talk and argument, that wealth be wasted, and that too many questions be asked.
Hadith 8719
حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سُمَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، مَنْ قَالَهَا عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ ، كُتِبَ لَهُ بِهَا مِائَةُ حَسَنَةٍ ، وَمُحِيَ عَنْهُ بِهَا مِائَةُ سَيِّئَةٍ ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُ عَدْلَ رَقَبَةٍ ، وَحُفِظَ بِهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ ، وَمَنْ قَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يُمْسِي ، كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever recites these words ten times in the morning: "La ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulk wa lahul hamd wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadeer" — it will be equal to freeing a slave, and a hundred good deeds will be written for him, a hundred sins will be erased, and it will be a means of protection from Satan until the evening. And whoever does this in the evening, the same ruling applies to him.
Hadith 8720
حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا تَحْتَ ثَنِيَّةِ لِفْتٍ ، طَلَعَ عَلَيْنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : " انْظُرْ مَنْ هَذَا " قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نِعْمَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ هَذَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we went out with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When we reached below Thaniyyah Laffat, Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) appeared from the front. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me, "See, who is this?" I submitted, "It is Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him)." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "How beloved a servant of Allah he is."
Hadith 8721
حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مِنْبَرِي هَذَا عَلَى تُرْعَةٍ مِنْ تُرَعِ الْجَنَّةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This pulpit of mine will be at one of the gates of Paradise."
Hadith 8722
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ كُرَيْزٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَنَاجَشُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا ، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا ، وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا ، وَلَا يَبِعْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ بَعْضٍ ، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا ، الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ ، لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَحْقِرُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُه ، كُلُّ الْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ حَرَامٌ : دَمُهُ قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : وَمَالُهُ وَعِرْضُهُ ، التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا ، التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا ، يُشِيرُ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ ثَلَاثًا ، بحَسْبُ امْرِئٍ مِنَ الشَّرِّ أَنْ يَحْقِرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُسْلِمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not envy one another. Do not deceive one another. Do not bear malice. Do not sever relations, and none of you should sell over the sale of his brother. O servants of Allah! Be brothers to one another. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He does not oppress him, does not forsake him helpless, does not humiliate him. The life, wealth, and honor of every Muslim are sacred to another Muslim. Piety is here—saying this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed to his blessed chest three times. It is enough evil for a Muslim that he considers his Muslim brother insignificant.
Hadith 8723
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ المُبَارَكٍ ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَال : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّكَ تُدَاعِبُنَا ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَا أَقُولُ إِلَّا حَقًّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I always speak the truth." A companion (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), do you also joke with us?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Even in jest, I always speak the truth."
Hadith 8724
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مُطَرِّفٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عُدِيَ عَلَى مَالِي ؟ قَالَ : " فَانْشُدْ اللَّهَ " ، قال : فَإِنْ أَبَوْا ، قال : " فانشُدِ اللهِ " ، قال : فإنْ أَبَوْا ، قال : " فَقَاتِلْ ، فَإِنْ قُتِلْتَ فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَ فَفِي النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), tell me, if someone tries to seize my wealth, what should I do?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Remind him of Allah." He asked, "If he does not accept?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then remind him of Allah again." For the third time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then fight him. If you are killed, you will go to Paradise, and if you kill him, he will go to Hell."
Hadith 8725
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُوتِرْ " . " وَإِذَا وَلَغَ الْكَلْبُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْهُ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ " . " وَلَا يَمْنَعْ فَضْلَ مَاءٍ لِيَمْنَعَ بِهِ الْكَلَأَ " . " وَمِنْ حَقِّ الْإِبِلِ أَنْ تُحْلَبَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ يَوْمَ وِرْدِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you performs istinja with stones, he should use an odd number of stones. When a dog licks any of your vessels, he should wash it seven times. And no one should be prevented from using excess water so that extra grass can be withheld through it. And it is the right of the camel that when it is brought to the watering place, it should be milked then.
Hadith 8726
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ : وَأَنْذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ الأَقْرَبِينَ سورة الشعراء آية 214 ، دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُرَيْشًا ، فَعَمَّ وَخَصَّ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ قُرَيْشٍ ، أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ ، يَا مَعْشَرَ بَنِي كَعْبِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ ، أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ ، يَا مَعْشَرَ بَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ ، أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ ، يَا مَعْشَرَ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ ، يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، أَنْقِذُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ ، يَا فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ ، أَنْقِذِي نَفْسَكِ مِنَ النَّارِ ، فَإِنِّي وَاللَّهِ مَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ، إِلَّا أَنَّ لَكُمْ رَحِمًا سَأَبُلُّهَا بِبِلَالِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the command was revealed to warn your close relatives, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called each clan of the Quraysh and said: O group of Quraysh! Save yourselves from the fire of Hell. O group of Banu Ka'b bin Lu'ay! Save yourselves from the fire of Hell. O group of Banu Abd Manaf! Save yourselves from the fire of Hell. O group of Banu Hashim! Save yourselves from the fire of Hell. I do not possess anything for you, except that I will maintain the ties of kinship with you.
Hadith 8727
حَدَّثَنَا حُسنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . . . فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فَإِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا " يَعْنِي فَاطِمَةَ عَلَيْهَا السَّلَام .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 8728
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، وَسُرَيْجٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " كُلُّ أُمَّتِي يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، إِلَّا مَنْ أَبَى " ، قَالُوا : وَمَنْ يَأْبَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ أَبَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every one of my followers will enter Paradise on the Day of Judgment except those who refuse. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Who are those who refuse?" He said: Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me, he is the one who refuses.
Hadith 8729
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، وَسُرَيْجٌ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " بَيْنَمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ يُحَدِّثُ الْقَوْمَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ حَدِيثًا ، جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى السَّاعَة ؟ قَالَ : فَمَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُ ، فَقَالَ : بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ سَمِعَ فَكَرِهَ مَا قَالَ ، وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : بَلْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ ، حَتَّى إِذَا قَضَى حَدِيثَهُ ، قَالَ : " أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ ؟ " قَالَ : هَا أَنَا ذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا ضُيِّعَتْ الْأَمَانَةُ فَانْتَظِرْ السَّاعَةَ " ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ أَوْ قَالَ مَا إِضَاعَتُهَا ؟ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَوَسَّدَ الْأَمْرَ غَيْرُ أَهْلِهِ ، فَانْتَظِرْ السَّاعَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in his gathering narrating hadiths, when during this a Bedouin came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) continued his conversation. Upon this, some people said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard what he said but disliked it, and some people said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not even hear what he said. Until, when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had completed his talk, he said, "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?" He said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), here I am." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When trust is lost, then await the Hour." He asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is meant by the loss of trust?" He replied, "When matters are entrusted to those who are not qualified, then await the Hour."
Hadith 8730
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِنَّ رَجُلًا لَمْ يَعْمَلْ خَيْرًا قَطُّ فَكَانَ يُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ ، فَيَقُولُ لِرَسُولِهِ : خُذْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ ، وَاتْرُكْ مَا عَسُرَ وَتَجَاوَزْ ، لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنَّا ، فَلَمَّا هَلَكَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ : هَلْ عَمِلْتَ خَيْرًا قَطُّ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ كَانَ لِي غُلَامٌ ، وَكُنْتُ أُدَايِنُ النَّاسَ ، فَإِذَا بَعَثْتُهُ يَتَقَاضَى قُلْتُ لَهُ : خُذْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ ، وَاتْرُكْ مَا عَسُرَ وَتَجَاوَزْ ، لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنَّا ، قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : قَدْ تَجَاوَزْتُ عَنْكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There was a man who had never done any good deed except that he used to lend money to people and would say to his agent, "Take back from the one who can pay easily, and leave the one who is in difficulty, and forgive him. Perhaps Allah will forgive us." When he died, Allah asked him, "Have you ever done any good deed?" He said, "No, but there is one thing: I had a servant and I used to lend money to people. When I sent my servant to collect the debt, I would say to him, 'Take back from the one who can pay easily, and leave the one who is in difficulty, and forgive him. Perhaps Allah will forgive us.'" Upon this, Allah said, "I have forgiven you."
Hadith 8731
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ الأَنْدرَاَوَرْدِى ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ عِنْدِي لبِمَنْزِلَةِ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ ، يَحْمَدُنِي وَأَنَا أَنْزِعُ نَفْسَهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ جَنْبَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "In My sight, there is only good for My believing servant at every moment. He is praising Me, and I take out his soul from both his sides."
Hadith 8732
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم ، قَالَ : " السَّاعِي عَلَى الْأَرْمَلَةِ ، وَالْمِسْكِينِ كَالْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ كَالَّذِي يَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ وَيَصُومُ النَّهَارَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The one who serves widows and the poor is like a warrior in the way of Allah, or like the person who spends the whole night in prayer and the whole day in fasting.
Hadith 8733
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَخَذَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ يُرِيدُ أَدَاءَهَا ، أَدَّاهَا اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، وَمَنْ أَخَذَهَا يُرِيدُ إِتْلَافَهَا ، أَتْلَفَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَل " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever takes people's wealth (as a loan) with the intention of repaying it, Allah enables him to repay that loan, and whoever takes it with the intention of wasting it, Allah causes it to be wasted.
Hadith 8734
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ فَرَأَى خَيْرًا مِنْهَا ، فَلْيُكَفِّرْ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، وَلْيَفْعَلْ الَّذِي هُوَ خَيْرٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever swears an oath about something, and later sees something better in that matter, should offer expiation for his oath and do what is better.
Hadith 8735
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ مِنْ آلِ ابْنِ الْأَزْرَقِ ، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ وَهُوَ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّا نَرْكَبُ الْبَحْرَ ، وَنَحْمِلُ مَعَنَا الْقَلِيلَ مِنَ الْمَاءِ ، فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأْنَا بِهِ ، عَطِشْنَا ، أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ ؟ قَالَ : فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ ، الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "We travel by sea and carry only a little water for drinking. If we use it for ablution, we will remain thirsty. Can we perform ablution with sea water?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The water of the sea is purifying and its dead (fish) is lawful."
Hadith 8736
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ أَذْهَبَ عَنْكُمْ عُبِّيَّةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَفَخْرَهَا بِالْآبَاء ، مُؤْمِنٌ تَقِيٌّ ، وَفَاجِرٌ شَقِيٌّ ، وَالنَّاسُ بَنُو آدَمَ ، وَآدَمُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ، لَيَنْتَهِيَنَّ أَقْوَامٌ فَخْرَهُمْ بِرِجَالٍ ، أَوْ لَيَكُونُنَّ أَهْوَنَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ عِدَّتِهِمْ مِنَ الْجِعْلَانِ الَّتِي تَدْفَعُ بِأَنْفِهَا النَّتَنَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, has removed from you the pride of the Age of Ignorance and boasting about your forefathers. Now, either a person will be a pious Muslim or a wretched sinner. All people are the children of Adam (peace be upon him), and Adam (peace be upon him) was created from clay. People should refrain from boasting about their ancestors, otherwise, in the sight of Allah, they will be more insignificant than a goat whose body has started to stink and people are willing to pay money to get rid of it.
Hadith 8737
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَقِيَّةُ ، عَنْ بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُتَوَكِّلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا ، وَأَدَّى زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ طَيِّبًا بِهَا نَفْسُهُ مُحْتَسِبًا ، وَسَمِعَ وَأَطَاعَ ، فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ أَوْ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَخَمْسٌ لَيْسَ لَهُنَّ كَفَّارَةٌ الشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَقَتْلُ النَّفْسِ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ، أَوْ نَهْبُ مُؤْمِنٍ ، أَوْ الْفِرَارُ يَوْمَ الزَّحْفِ ، أَوْ يَمِينٌ صَابِرَةٌ يَقْتَطِعُ بِهَا مَالًا بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever meets Allah in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Him, gives the zakat of his wealth with a happy heart and with the intention of reward, and listens and obeys, he will enter Paradise. And there are five things for which there is no expiation: associating partners with Allah, unjustly killing someone, slandering a Muslim, fleeing from the battlefield, and taking a false oath by which another's wealth is wrongfully acquired.
Hadith 8738
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ مُبَارَكٍ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " حَدٌّ يُقَامُ فِي الْأَرْضِ ، خَيْرٌ لِلنَّاسِ مِنْ أَنْ يُمْطَرُوا ثَلَاثِينَ أَوْ أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One punishment carried out on earth is better for the people than continuous rain for thirty or forty days.
Hadith 8739
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ هُوَ ابْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَمْ تَرَوْا إِلَى مَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، قَالَ : مَا أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَى عِبَادِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ ، إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرِينَ ، يَقُولُونَ : الْكَوْكَبُ وَبِالْكَوْكَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "See what your Lord has said. He says: Whenever I bestowed blessings upon My servants, there was always a group among them who showed ingratitude for those blessings and kept saying, 'This is due to such-and-such star's influence,' and, 'This happened because of such-and-such star.'"
Hadith 8740
حَدَّثَنَا رَجُلٌ قَدْ سَمَّاهُ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْمَاءِ الدَّائِمِ ، ثُمَّ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should urinate in standing water and then use it to perform ghusl (ritual bath).
Hadith 8741
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ كَعْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّكُمْ الْغُرُّ الْمُحَجَّلُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ آثَارِ الطُّهُورِ " ، فَمَنْ اسْتَطَاعَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يُطِيلَ غُرَّتَهُ فَلْيَفْعَلْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: On the Day of Resurrection, you will have radiant and shining foreheads from the marks of ablution, so whoever among you can increase his brightness should do so.
Hadith 8742
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، إِذْ ذَاكَ وَنَحْنُ بِالْمَدِينَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَجِيءُ الْأَعْمَالُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَتَجِيءُ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَتَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ ، أَنَا الصَّلَاةُ ، فَيَقُولُ : إِنَّكِ عَلَى خَيْرٍ ، فَتَجِيءُ الصَّدَقَةُ ، فَتَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ ، أَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ ، فَيَقُولُ : إِنَّكِ عَلَى خَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ الصِّيَامُ ، فَيَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ ، أَنَا الصِّيَامُ ، فَيَقُولُ : إِنَّكَ عَلَى خَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ تَجِيءُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ، فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : إِنَّكَ عَلَى خَيْرٍ ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ الْإِسْلَامُ ، فَيَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ ، وَأَنَا الْإِسْلَامُ ، فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : إِنَّكَ عَلَى خَيْرٍ ، بِكَ الْيَوْمَ آخُذُ ، وَبِكَ أُعْطِي " ، فَقَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي كِتَابِهِ : وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الإِسْلامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ سورة آل عمران آية 85 ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : عَبَّادُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ ثِقَةٌ ، وَلَكِنَّ الْحَسَنَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once in Madinah Munawwarah, this hadith was related: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "On the Day of Resurrection, righteous deeds will be presented before Allah. Thus, prayer will come and say, 'O Lord, I am prayer.' It will be said, 'You are upon goodness.' Then zakat will come and say, 'O Lord, I am zakat.' It will be said, 'You are upon goodness.' Then fasting will come and say, 'O Lord, I am fasting.' It will be said, 'You are also upon goodness.' In this way, all deeds will keep coming, and Allah will keep saying, 'You are upon goodness.' Then Islam will come and say, 'O Lord, You are Peace and I am Islam.' Allah will say, 'You are also upon goodness. Today, because of you, I will call to account, and because of you, I will grant.' The command of the Lord is: Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter."
Hadith 8743
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زَبْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ مَوْلَى يَزِيدَ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يقوَلَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ : يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ إِنْ تُعْطِ الْفَضْلَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ ، وَإِنْ تُمْسِكْهُ فَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَكَ ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ ، وَلَا يَلُومُ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْكَفَافِ ، وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى " .
This prophetic saying is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah Almighty says: O Adam, if you give something beyond your need to someone, it is better for you, and if you withhold it and keep it with yourself, it is bad for you. And begin with those who are under your responsibility, and Allah does not blame for withholding to the extent of sufficiency, and the upper hand is better than the lower hand.
Hadith 8744
وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : مُرْنِي بِأَمْرٍ ، وَلَا تُكْثِرْ عَلَيَّ حَتَّى أَعْقِلَهُ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَغْضَبْ " فَأَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَغْضَبْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "Command me to do one thing, not many things, so that I may understand it well." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do not get angry."
Hadith 8745
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْيَهُودَ ، حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ الشُّحُومُ فَبَاعُوهَا ، وَأَكَلُوا أَثْمَانَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah's curse be upon the Jews; fat was made unlawful for them, but they sold it and consumed its price."
Hadith 8746
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مِرَايَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تُصَلِّي الْمَلَائِكَةُ عَلَى نَائِحَةٍ ، وَلَا عَلَى مُرِنَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The angels do not pray for forgiveness for any woman who wails or laments.
Hadith 8747
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْعَدَوِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " بِنَاءُ الْجَنَّةِ لَبِنَةٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَلَبِنَةٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the construction of Paradise, one brick is of gold and one brick is of silver.
Hadith 8748
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَكْرَمَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Nothing is more honorable in the sight of Allah than supplication (du'a).
Hadith 8749
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ضَمْضَمُ بْنُ جَوْسٍ الْهِفَّانِيُّ ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُول : ُسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " كَانَ فِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ رَجُلَانِ ، أَحَدُهُمَا مُجْتَهِدٌ فِي الْعِبَادَةِ ، وَالْآخَرُ مُسْرِفٌ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ ، وَكَانَا مُتَآخِيَيْنِ ، فَكَانَ الْمُجْتَهِدُ لَا يَزَالُ يَرَى عَلَى الْآخَرِ ذَنْبًا ، فَيَقُولُ : وَيْحَكَ أَقْصِرْ ، فَيَقُولُ : الْمُذْنِب خَلِّنِي وَرَبِّي " فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي عَامِرٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Among the Children of Israel there were two men, one of whom was greatly devoted to worship and the other was a great sinner. There was a bond of brotherhood between them. Whenever the worshipper saw the other person committing a sin, he would say to him, "Refrain from this." But he would reply, "Leave me to my Lord and myself..." Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith.
Hadith 8750
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَوْ آمَنَ عَشَرَةٌ مِنْ أَحْبَارِ الْيَهُودِ ، آمَنُوا بِي كُلُّهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If ten of the great Jewish scholars believe in me, then every Jew on the face of the earth would believe in me.
Hadith 8751
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْجُلَاسِ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ شَمَّاخٍ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ مَرْوَانَ سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ : كَيْفَ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجِنَازَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبُّهَا ، وَأَنْتَ خَلَقْتَهَا ، وَأَنْتَ هَدَيْتَهَا لِلْإِسْلَامِ ، وَأَنْتَ قَبَضْتَ رُوحَهَا ، وَأَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِسِرِّهَا وَعَلَانِيَتِهَا ، جِئْنَا شُفَعَاءَ فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا " .
Usman bin Shamakh reports that once Marwan asked Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) in my presence, "Which supplication did you hear the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recite in the funeral prayer?" He replied, "I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: O Allah, You are his Lord, You created him, You guided him to Islam, and You took his soul. You know his hidden and apparent (deeds). We have come to You as intercessors for him, so forgive him."
Hadith 8752
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَطْفِئُوا السُّرُجَ ، وَأَغْلِقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ ، وَخَمِّرُوا الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّرَابَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: At night, extinguish the lamps when you go to sleep, close the doors, and cover the food and drink.
Hadith 8753
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَلْجٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ مَيْمُونٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْعَرْشِ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), shall I not tell you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? Say: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah' (There is no power and no strength except with Allah)."
Hadith 8754
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ , عن أبيه ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَيْسَ السَّنَةُ أَنْ لَا يَكُونَ مَطَرٌ ، وَلَكِنَّ السَّنَةَ أَنْ تُمْطِرَ السَّمَاءُ وَلَا تُنْبِتُ الْأَرْضُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Famine is not that there is no rainfall; famine is that rain falls abundantly from the sky but nothing grows from the earth.
