Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, people will be gathered in three groups: one group will be those who walk on foot, one group will be those who ride, and one group will be those who walk on their faces. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How will people walk on their faces?" He replied, "The One who made them walk on their feet is surely able to make them walk on their faces as well. Therefore, they should protect their faces from every slippery place and thorn."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, retribution will be taken among the creatures from one another, to the extent that the hornless goat will be given retribution from the horned goat, and even the ant will be given retribution from another ant.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the night of Mi'raj, when we reached the seventh heaven, my gaze was lifted upwards. There was thunder, lightning, and roaring of clouds. Then I came upon a people whose bellies were like rooms, in which snakes and the like could be seen from outside their bellies. I asked, "O Jibreel (peace be upon him), who are these people?" He replied, "These are those who consumed usury." Then when I returned to the lowest heaven, my gaze fell downwards. There were screams, smoke, and voices to be heard. I asked, "O Jibreel, what is this?" He replied, "These are the devils who are throwing dust into the eyes of the children of Adam so that they do not ponder over the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. If it were not so, people would see great wonders."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In one qintar there are twelve thousand uqiyyah, and each uqiyyah is better than all the things between the earth and the sky.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the buying and selling of fruit before it ripens.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) attended a funeral, he would say: Walk with spaciousness, do not walk in the manner that the Jews walk with their funerals.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The capability for leadership is in the Quraysh, the capability for judiciary is in the Ansar, the capability for calling to prayer is in the Abyssinians, and swiftness is in the people of Yemen. (The narrator of the hadith, Zaid, once also said that trustworthiness is in the people of Azd.)

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once performing ablution and washing each limb of ablution only twice.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I saw that someone struck my head and I saw him rolling away." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to smile and then said, "At night, Satan comes before one of you and frightens him, and then that person goes around in the morning telling people about it."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you hear the braying of a donkey at night, it has seen a devil, so seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the devil. And when you hear the crowing of a rooster at night, remember that it has seen an angel, so at that time ask Allah for His bounty.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the occasion of Hajj or Umrah when, on the way, we saw a swarm of locusts. We started hitting them with our whips and sticks, and they began to fall one by one in front of us. We thought, since we are in the state of Ihram, what should we do about them? Then we asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and he said: "There is no harm in hunting from the sea."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person can be a complete believer until he gives up lying even in jest, and abandons quarrelling even when he is truthful.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that Khawla bint Yasar (may Allah be pleased with her) once came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I have only one garment and during my days of impurity, I also wear it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When you become pure, wash the place where the blood has stained, and then pray in it." She said, "O Messenger of Allah! What if the mark of the blood stain does not go away?" He said, "Water is sufficient; it does not matter if the mark does not disappear."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The fast of both the one who applies cupping and the one to whom it is applied is broken.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person is near death, angels come to him. If he is a righteous person, they say to him, "O pure soul! Who resided in a pure body, come out, come out praiseworthy, and accept the glad tidings of comfort and fragrance, and of meeting that Lord who is not displeased with you." These words are repeated to him until his soul departs. After that, he is taken up to the heavens, the door is knocked, and a voice asks, "Who is it?" The reply is given, "So-and-so." The inhabitants of the heaven say, "Welcome to this pure soul who resided in a pure body, enter praiseworthy, and accept the glad tidings of comfort and fragrance, and of meeting a Lord who is not displeased." These words are said to him at every heaven until he is taken to the heaven where the Lord of the worlds Himself is present.

And if he is a sinful person, the angels say, "O wicked soul! Who resided in a wicked body, come out, come out blameworthy, and accept the tidings of boiling water and thorny food, and also accept the tidings of various other kinds of punishment." These words are repeated to him until his soul departs. The angels then take him up to the heavens and knock on the door. It is asked, "Who is it?" It is told, "So-and-so." The reply comes, "There is no welcome for this wicked soul who resided in a wicked body. Return blameworthy, for the doors of the heavens will not be opened for you." Thus, he returns from the heavens and goes back into the grave.

Then the righteous person is made to sit in his grave, and the same words are said to him as were said the first time. And the sinful person is also made to sit in his grave, and the same is said to him as was said before.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Send blessings upon me, for it is a means of purification for you, and ask Allah to grant me al-Wasilah, which is the name of the highest rank in Paradise that will be given to only one person, and I hope that I will be that person."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you think my Qiblah is here? By Allah, your humility is not hidden from me, nor do I fail to see you behind my back while you are in bowing (ruku’)."

Abu Al-Awbar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a man came to Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "Are you the one who has seen people praying while wearing shoes and then returning?" However, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting only on the day of Jumu'ah unless it is included in one's regular practice.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A woman who applies perfume and leaves her house with the intention of going to the mosque, Allah does not accept her prayer until she returns home and washes it off in the manner of washing after impurity."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person's generosity, his religion, his chivalry, his intellect, and his lineage are his morals.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Black flags will emerge from Khorasan, nothing will be able to turn them back until they are planted in Bayt al-Maqdis.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever attributes to me something which I have not said, he should make his abode in Hell. Whoever is given an unauthentic fatwa, its sin is upon the one who gave the fatwa. And whoever is asked for advice by his Muslim brother and does not give him correct advice, then he has committed a betrayal.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever is made a judge among the people, it is as if he has been slaughtered without a knife. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Trim the moustaches well and let the beard grow abundantly.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from four things: from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that is devoid of fear and humility, from a soul that is never satisfied, and from a supplication that is not accepted.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Even my most humble follower can grant protection to someone (and it will be binding upon the entire Ummah).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not possible for a double-faced person to be trustworthy.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not appropriate for a truthful person or a friend to be one who curses.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The bell is the musical instrument of Satan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Reconciliation will be enforced among the Muslims.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Trim the moustaches well and let the beard grow fully, and oppose the Magians.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the eyes have gone inside, then seeking permission has no significance.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: I saw Amr bin Amir Khuza'i in Hell dragging his intestines. He was the first person who established the custom of setting animals free in the name of idols and making Bahira.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah's curse be upon the Jews, for they made the graves of their prophets places of prostration.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of Khaybar, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared as forbidden every predatory animal that hunts with its fangs, animals tied and targeted on a stake, and domesticated donkeys.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever spends a pair or two of something from his wealth in the way of Allah, the gatekeepers of Paradise call him, "O Muslim, this is goodness, come forward towards it." Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted, "No harm can come to such a person." Upon this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The benefit I have received from Abu Bakr's wealth, I have not received from anyone else's wealth." Hearing this, Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I and my wealth are all yours. Allah has benefited me through you." (He said this three times.)

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: In the sight of Allah, a strong believer is better, superior, and more beloved than a weak believer, and there is goodness in each. Strive for those things that benefit you and do not become helpless. If any matter overpowers you, then say: Allah has decreed it thus, and Allah does whatever He wills. And protect yourself from "if" and "but," for "if" and "but" open the door of Satan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People should stop boasting about their ancestors, otherwise in the sight of Allah they will be more insignificant than a dung beetle.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man presented himself in the court of the Messenger and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a man intends to perform jihad in the way of Allah, but his purpose is to acquire worldly goods?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He will not receive any reward." This was very burdensome for the people. They said to that man, "Ask the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the matter again; perhaps the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not understand the question well." He asked the same question again, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the same answer. He asked the same question a third time, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again gave the same answer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a healthy Bedouin came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Has 'Umm Mildam' ever seized you?" He said, "What is 'Umm Mildam'?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Fever." He asked, "What is fever?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It is the heat between the body and the flesh." He said, "I have never felt such a thing in my body." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Has 'Suda'' ever afflicted you?" He asked, "What is meant by 'Suda''?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The veins that run in a person's head (and because of which there is pain in the head)." He said, "I have never felt this pain in my body." When he left, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Whoever wants to see a person of Hell, he should look at this man."
