It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood for prayer, he would spread both his hands and perform Raf‘ al-Yadayn (raising of the hands).

When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered milk from a second goat, he could not finish it. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A Muslim drinks in one intestine, and a disbeliever drinks in seven intestines."

He said, "Yes, rather (the Prophet's prayer) was even shorter than this."

By Allah, if any of them knew that by coming to the prayer he would receive a large, fat bone or two fine hoofs, he would surely participate in it. And if they knew the reward for it, they would surely participate in the prayer, even if they had to crawl on their knees.

Marwan said, "By Allah, they will be the worst of youths."

(Sometimes the narrator would specify the restriction of the Isha prayer.)

We asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), please tell us, when ninety-nine out of every hundred of us are taken, what will remain behind?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The example of my Ummah compared to other nations is like a white hair on a black bull."
