Hadith 8875
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " كَانَ إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ مَدًّا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood for prayer, he would spread both his hands and perform Raf‘ al-Yadayn (raising of the hands).
Hadith 8876
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَى أَنْقَابِ الْمَدِينَةِ مَلَائِكَةٌ ، لَا يَدْخُلُهَا الدَّجَّالُ وَلَا الطَّاعُونُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are angels guarding the entrances of Madinah Munawwarah, therefore neither Dajjal nor plague can enter here.
Hadith 8877
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " هَلْ تَرَوْنَ قِبْلَتِي هَاهُنَا ؟ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا يَخْفَى عَلَيَّ خُشُوعُكُمْ وَلَا رُكُوعُكُمْ ، إِنِّي لَأَرَاكُمْ مِنْ وَرَاءِ ظَهْرِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you think my Qiblah is here? By Allah, your humility is not hidden from me, nor do I fail to see you behind my back while you are in bowing (ruku’)."
Hadith 8878
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمَقَابِرِ ، فَقَالَ : " السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the graveyard. Upon reaching there, he greeted the inhabitants of the graveyard and said: "O dwellers of the community of believers! Peace be upon you. InshaAllah, we too will join you."
Hadith 8879
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَافَهُ ضَيْفٌ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ ، فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ فَحُلِبَتْ ، فَشَرِبَ الْكَافِرُ حِلَابَهَا ، ثُمَّ أُخْرَى فَشَرِبَهُ ، ثُمَّ أُخْرَى فَشَرِبَهُ ، حَتَّى شَرِبَ حِلَابَ سَبْعِ شِيَاهٍ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ أَصْبَحَ فَأَسْلَمَ ، فَأَمَرَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ ، فَشَرِبَ حِلَابَهَا ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِأُخْرَى ، فَلَمْ يَسْتَتِمَّهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمُؤْمِنُ يَشْرَبُ فِي مِعًى وَاحِدٍ ، وَالْكَافِرُ يَشْرَبُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a guest came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) who was a disbeliever. At the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), milk from a goat was milked for him and he drank all of it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered milk from a second goat, and he drank that as well. In this way, he drank the milk of seven goats. The next day, he accepted Islam. At the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), milk from a goat was milked for him and he drank it. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered milk from a second goat, he could not finish it. Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A Muslim drinks in one intestine, and a disbeliever drinks in seven intestines."
Hadith 8880
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نِمْتُ هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةَ ، لَدَغَتْنِي عَقْرَبٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمَا لَوْ قُلْتَ حِينَ أَمْسَيْتَ أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ، لَمْ يَضُرَّكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man from the tribe of Aslam presented himself in the court of the Messenger and said, "Last night while I was sleeping, a scorpion stung me." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you had recited these words in the evening: 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,' it would never have harmed you."
Hadith 8881
حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الدِّيلِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْغَيْثِ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَافِلُ الْيَتِيمِ لَهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ ، أَنَا وَهُوَ كَهَاتَيْنِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، إِذَا اتَّقَى اللَّهَ " ، وَأَشَارَ مَالِكٌ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ وَالْوُسْطَى .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The one who takes care of an orphan child, whether his own or someone else's, I and he will be in Paradise like this, provided that he fears Allah. Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) gestured with his index and middle fingers.
Hadith 8882
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلَاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيَّ وَاحِدَةً ، يُصَلِّي اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرَاً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever catches one rak'ah of any prayer, it is as if he has caught the whole prayer.
Hadith 8883
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ رَكْعَةً ، فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا كُلَّهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever catches one rak'ah of any prayer, it is as if he has caught the whole prayer.
Hadith 8884
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " َنَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْغَرَرِ ، وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَصَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling by throwing pebbles and from deceptive trade.
Hadith 8885
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ خُبَيْبٍ يَعْنِي بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا بَيْنَ بَيْتِي وَمِنْبَرِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَمِنْبَرِي عَلَى حَوْضِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The area between my house and my pulpit is one of the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit will be set up over my cistern on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 8886
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا زَنَتْ أَمَةُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا وَلَا يُعَيِّرْهَا ، فَإِنْ عَادَتْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا وَلَا يُعَيِّرْهَا ، فَإِنْ عَادَتْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا وَلَا يُعَيِّرْهَا ، فَإِنْ عَادَتْ فِي الرَّابِعَةِ فَلْيَبِعْهَا وَلَوْ بِحَبْلٍ مِنْ شَعَرٍ ، أَوْ ضَفِيرٍ مِنْ شَعَرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If any of you has a slave-girl who commits adultery and her crime is proven, then give her the punishment of lashes but do not disgrace her. Then, if she commits the same sin a third or fourth time, he said: Sell her, even if you get only a rope made of hair as her price.
Hadith 8887
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَرَّمَ عَلَى لِسَانِي مَا بَيْنَ لَابَتَيْ الْمَدِينَةِ " ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَنُو فُلَانٍ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا أَرَاكُمْ إِلَّا قَدْ خَرَجْتُمْ مِنَ الْحَرَمِ " ، ثُمَّ نَظَرَ فَقَالَ : " بَلْ أَنْتُمْ فِيهِ ، بَلْ أَنْتُمْ فِيهِ " ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ : ثُمَّ جَاءَ بَنُو جَارِيَةَ ، وَإِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنُو حَارِثَةَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By my tongue, the area between the two boundaries of Madinah Munawwarah has been declared as Haram." After a short while, some people from Banu Harithah came. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to them: "I think your residence is going outside the Haram." Then, after pondering for a while, he said: "No, you are within the Haram. No, you are within the Haram."
Hadith 8888
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيه ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ نَازِلًا عَلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ، قَالَ : فَرَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً لَيْسَتْ بِالْخَفِيفَةِ ، وَلَا بِالطَّوِيلَةِ ، قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ : نَحْوًا مِنْ صَلَاةِ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لأبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَهَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي ؟ قَالَ : وَمَا أَنْكَرْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِي ؟ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : خَيْرًا ، أَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، أَوْ أَوْجَزَ .
Abu Khalid, may Allah have mercy on him, who was once a guest of Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, in Madinah Munawwarah, says that once I saw Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, performing a prayer which was neither very short nor very long. I asked him, "Did the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, also use to pray in this manner (as you are teaching us)?" Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, replied, "What do you find unusual or strange in my prayer?" I said, "I just wanted to ask you about it." He said, "Yes, rather (the Prophet's prayer) was even shorter than this."
Hadith 8889
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ الصَّاغَانِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُيَسَّرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ ، فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا ، وَإِذَا قَرَأَ فَأَنْصِتُوا ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : وَلا الضَّالِّينَ سورة الفاتحة آية 7 ، فَقُولُوا : آمِينَ ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَقُولُوا : رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، وَإِذَا صَلَّى جَالِسًا ، فَصَلُّوا جُلُوسًا أَجْمَعُونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Imam is appointed only so that he may be followed, so when he says the takbeer, you also say the takbeer; when he recites (Qur'an), you remain silent; when he says "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," you say "Rabbana wa lakal hamd"; and when he prays sitting, then all of you also pray sitting.
Hadith 8890
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ فِتْيَانِي فَيَجْمَعُوا حَطَبًا ، ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ ، ثُمَّ أُخَالِفُ إِلَى رِجَالٍ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ ، وَايْمُ اللَّهِ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ أَحَدُهُمْ أَنَّ لَهُ بِشُهُودِهَا عَرْقًا سَمِينًا أَوْ مِرْمَاتَيْنِ ، لَشَهِدَهَا ، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهَا لَأَتَوْهَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I intended to order my young men to collect firewood, then I would order a man to lead the people in prayer, and I would go behind to those people who do not participate in the prayer and set fire to their houses. By Allah, if any of them knew that by coming to the prayer he would receive a large, fat bone or two fine hoofs, he would surely participate in it. And if they knew the reward for it, they would surely participate in the prayer, even if they had to crawl on their knees.
Hadith 8891
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ ، وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Saying "Subhan Allah" to remind the imam is for men, and clapping is for women.
Hadith 8892
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَقْتَسِمُ وَرَثَتِي دِينَارًا ، مَا تَرَكْتُهُ بَعْدَ نَفَقَةِ نِسَائِي وَمَئُونَةِ عَامِلِي يَعْنِي عَامِلَ أَرْضِهِ فَهُوَ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My heirs will not distribute dinars and dirhams. Whatever I leave, apart from the maintenance of my wives and the wages of the worker of my land, is all charity.
Hadith 8893
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَجْزِي وَلَدٌ وَالِدَهُ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِدَهُ مَمْلُوكًا فَيَشْتَرِيَهُ فَيُعْتِقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No child has the capacity to compensate for the crime of his father (the punishment for the father's crime will not be taken from his children). However, there is one thing: if someone finds his father in a state of slavery, he should buy him and set him free.
Hadith 8894
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنِ الْأَغْرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي : قَالَ اللَّهُ : " الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي ، وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي ، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا أَدْخَلْتُهُ جَهَنَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has said, "Majesty is My upper garment and honor is My lower garment; whoever disputes with Me regarding either of them, I will cast him into Hell."
Hadith 8895
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَفَعَهُ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَسْرِقُ السَّارِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَالتَّوْبَةُ مَعْرُوضَةٌ بَعْدُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person commits adultery, he is not a believer at that moment; when a person steals, he is not a believer at that moment; when a person drinks alcohol, he is not a believer at that moment. And the door of repentance is open.
Hadith 8896
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْمَطْلُ ظُلْمُ الْغَنِيِّ ، وَمَنْ أُتْبِعَ عَلَى مَلِيءٍ فَلْيَتْبَعْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Delaying repayment by a wealthy person is injustice, and when any of you is referred to a wealthy person, he should pursue him.
Hadith 8897
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ يَتَقَاضَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعِيرًا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْتَمِسُوا لَهُ مِثْلَ سِنِّ بَعِيرِهِ " قَالَ : فَالْتَمَسُوا لَهُ ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلَّا فَوْقَ سِنِّ بَعِيرِهِ ، قَالَ : " فَأَعْطُوهُ فَوْقَ بَعِيرِهِ " فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ : أَوْفَيْتَنِي أَوْفَاكَ اللَّهُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ خَيْرَكُمْ خَيْرُكُمْ قَضَاءً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to demand his camel. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Find a camel of the same age as his and bring it." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) searched but could not find a camel of the required age; every camel was older than that. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then give him a camel of an older age." The Bedouin said, "You have paid me in full, may Allah give you in full." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The best among you is the one who is best in repaying debts."
Hadith 8898
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَسَحَّرُوا ، فَإِنَّ فِي السَّحُورِ بَرَكَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Partake in suhoor, for there is blessing in eating suhoor."
Hadith 8899
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي نَعْلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offering prayer while wearing shoes.
Hadith 8900
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَبْرِدُوا بِالظُّهْرِ ، فَإِنَّ حَرَّهَا مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perform the Zuhr prayer when it becomes cooler, because the severity of heat is due to the effect of the heat of Hell.
Hadith 8901
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي غاضرةٍ ، قال : قَيل لِمَرْوَانَ : هَذَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى الْبَابِ ، قَالَ : ائْذَنُوا لَهُ ، قَالَ : يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " أَوْشَكَ الرَّجُلُ أَنْ يَتَمَنَّى أَنَّهُ خَرَّ مِنَ الثُّرَيَّا وَأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَتَوَلَّ أَوْ يَلِ ، شَكَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مِنْ أَمْرِ النَّاسِ شَيْئًا " . قَالَ : قَالَ : وَسَمِعْتُهُ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ هَلَاكَ الْعَرَبِ بِيَدَيْ فِتْيَةٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ " ، قَالَ : قَالَ مَرْوَانُ : بِئْسَ وَاللَّهِ الْفِتْيَةُ هَؤُلَاءِ .
Once Marwan was informed that Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) was standing at his door. He said, "Call him inside." When he came in, Marwan said, "O Abu Hurairah, narrate to us a hadith which you yourself heard from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said, "I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'A time will soon come when a person will wish that he would fall from the height of the star Thurayya rather than be given any responsibility from the affairs of government.' And I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The destruction of the Arabs will be at the hands of a few young men from the Quraysh.'" Marwan said, "By Allah, they will be the worst of youths."
Hadith 8902
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ " ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ ! قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ ، إِنِّي أَظَلُّ عِنْدَ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Protect yourselves from fasting continuously for several days with only one pre-dawn meal (suhoor)." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), but you fast continuously in this manner?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds me and gives me drink."
Hadith 8903
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَرَآهُمْ عِزِينَ مُتَفَرِّقِينَ ، قَالَ : فَغَضِبَ غَضَبًا شَدِيدًا ، مَا رَأَيْنَاهُ غَضِبَ غَضَبًا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُ ، قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ ، لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ ، ثُمَّ أَتَتَبَّعَ هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي دُورِهِمْ ، فَأُحَرِّقَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ " وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ : دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the mosque and saw people in separate groups. The Prophet (peace be upon him) became so intensely angry that we had never seen him in such severe anger before, and he said: "By Allah, I had intended to order a man to lead the people in prayer, and then go out in search of those who stay back from the prayer and remain sitting in their homes, and set fire to their houses." (Sometimes the narrator would specify the restriction of the Isha prayer.)
Hadith 8904
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَد بن عامر ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، فَإِذَا قَالُوهَا عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ ، إِلَّا مِن أَمْرِ حَقَّ ، وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight against the people until they testify that there is no god but Allah. When they say this kalimah, then they have protected their lives and property from me, except for its due right, and their reckoning is with Allah.
Hadith 8905
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَد بن عامر ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " اثْنَانِ هُمَا كُفْرٌ النِّيَاحَةُ ، وَالطَّعْنُ فِي النَّسَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: Two things are acts of disbelief: one is wailing and the other is casting aspersions on someone's lineage.
Hadith 8906
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُؤْتَ بِالْمَوْتِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَبْشًا أَمْلَحَ ، فَيُقَالُ : يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ ، تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا ؟ قال : فَيَطَّلِعُونَ خَائِفِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ ، قَالَ : يَقُولُونَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ يُنَادَى أَهْلُ النَّارِ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا ؟ فَيَقُولُونَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَيُذْبَحُ ، ثُمَّ يُقَالُ : خُلُودٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، وَخُلُودٌ فِي النَّارِ " .
Narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, death will be brought in the form of a ram and will be made to stand on the Bridge of Sirat. The people of Paradise will be called and they will look out in fear, thinking perhaps they have been taken out of Paradise. Then it will be asked of them, "Do you recognize this?" They will say, "Yes (O Lord), this is death." Then the people of Hell will be called and asked, "Do you recognize this?" They will say, "Yes, this is death." Then, by Allah's command, it will be slaughtered on the Bridge of Sirat, and both groups will be told, "The state in which you are now, you will remain in it forever."
Hadith 8907
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ مِثْلَهُ ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ زَادَ فِيهِ : " فيُؤْتَى بِهِ عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ فَيُذْبَحُ " .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 8908
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ لِغَنِيٍّ ، وَلَا لِذِي مِرَّةٍ سَوِيٍّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not lawful for a wealthy person or a strong, healthy man to take zakat money.
Hadith 8909
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمُؤَذِّنُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ ، وَالْإِمَامُ ضَامِنٌ ، اللَّهُمَّ أَرْشِدْ الْأَئِمَّةَ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤَذِّنِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The imam is responsible and the muezzin is trustworthy. O Allah, guide the imams and forgive the muezzins.
Hadith 8910
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَسِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَسِيدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَوْلَى عَقِيلَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْقٍ الْغِفَارِيَّةِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُحَلِّقَ حَبِيبَهُ حَلْقَةً مِنْ نَارٍ ، فَلْيَجْعَلْ لَهُ حَلْقَةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُطَوِّقَ حَبِيبَهُ طَوْقًا مِنْ نَارٍ ، فَلْيُطَوِّقْهُ طَوْقًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُسَوِّرَ حَبِيبَهُ سِوَارًا مِنْ نَارٍ ، فَلْيُسَوِّرْهُ سِوَارًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، وَلَكِنْ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْفِضَّةِ ، فَالْعَبُوا بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wishes to make his friend wear a ring of fire should make him wear a ring of gold; however, use silver and amuse yourselves with it. And whoever wishes to make his friend wear a collar of the fire of Hell should make him wear a necklace of gold, and whoever wishes to make him wear bracelets of fire should make him wear bracelets of gold.
Hadith 8911
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ ، نَادَى مُنَادٍ : يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ ، خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ فِيهِ ، وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ ، خُلُودٌ لَا مَوْتَ فِيهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the people of Paradise enter Paradise and the people of Hell enter Hell, a caller will announce: O people of Paradise, you will remain in it forever, there will be no death here; and O people of Hell, you too will remain in it forever, there will be no death here.
Hadith 8912
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ الْجُلَاحِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ نَاسًا أَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : إِنَّا نَبْعُدُ فِي الْبَحْرِ ، وَلَا نَحْمِلُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ إِلَّا الْإِدَاوَةَ وَالْإِدَاوَتَيْنِ ، لِأَنَّا لَا نَجِدُ الصَّيْدَ حَتَّى نَبْعُدَ ، أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَاءِ الْبَحْرِ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَإِنَّهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ ، الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people came to the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: "We travel by sea and carry only a little water for drinking. If we use it for ablution, we will be left thirsty. Can we perform ablution with sea water?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The water of the sea is purifying and its dead (fish) is lawful."

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَة بن سعيد ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ ثَوْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَوَّلُ مَنْ يُدْعَى يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، فَيُقَالُ : هَذَا أَبُوكُمْ آدَمُ ، فَيَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ ، فَيَقُولُ لَهُ رَبُّنَا : أَخْرِجْ نَصِيبَ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ ، فَيَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ وَكَمْ ؟ فَيَقُولُ : مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ " فَقُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرَأَيْتَ إِذَا أُخِذَ مِنَّا مِنْ كُلِّ مِائَةٍ تِسْعَةٌ وَتِسْعُينَ ، فَمَاذَا يَبْقَى مِنَّا ؟ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أُمَّتِي فِي الْأُمَمِ كَالشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي الثَّوْرِ الْأَسْوَدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the first person who will be called will be told, "This is your father Adam (peace be upon him)." Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) will say, "O Lord, I am present." The Lord will say, "Take out the portion of Hell from your progeny." He will ask, "O Lord, how much?" It will be said, "Ninety-nine out of every hundred." We asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), please tell us, when ninety-nine out of every hundred of us are taken, what will remain behind?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The example of my Ummah compared to other nations is like a white hair on a black bull."
Hadith 8914
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُهَيْلِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيه ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اسْتَهَلَّ رَمَضَانُ ، غُلِّقَتْ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ ، وَفُتِّحَتْ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَصُفِّدَتْ الشَّيَاطِينُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained.
