Hadith 8915
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بن سعيد ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ مَقَابِرَ ، وَإِنَّ الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي يُقْرَأُ فِيهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ ، لَا يَدْخُلُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not make your houses graveyards, for surely Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited.
Hadith 8916
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بن سعيد ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بن محمد ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَعْنِي قَالَ لِنِسْوَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ : " لَا يَمُوتُ لِإِحْدَاكُنَّ ثَلَاثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ فَتَحْتَسِبُهُ ، إِلَّا دَخَلَتْ الْجَنَّةَ " ، فَقَالَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ : أَوْ اثْنَانِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَوْ اثْنَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to some Ansari women: "Any woman among you who sends ahead (loses) three of her children and remains patient over them, she will enter Paradise." A woman asked, "What if they are two?" He replied, "Even if they are two, the same ruling applies."
Hadith 8917
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " عَلَى أَنْقَابِ الْمَدِينَةِ مَلَائِكَةٌ ، لَا يَدْخُلُهَا الطَّاعُونُ وَلَا الدَّجَّالُ " .
It is narrated from the previous chain that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: There are angels guarding the gates of Madinah, therefore Dajjal and plague cannot enter here.
Hadith 8918
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا سَافَرْتُمْ فِي الْخَصِيبِ ، فَأَعْطُوا الْإِبِلَ حَظَّهَا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ ، وَإِذَا سَافَرْتُمْ فِي السَّنَةِ ، فَبَادِرُوا بها نِقْيَهَا ، وَإِذَا عَرَّسْتُمْ ، فَاجْتَنِبُوا الطُّرُقَ ، فَإِنَّهَا طُرُقُ الدَّوَابِّ ، وَمَأْوَى الْهَوَامِّ بِاللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you travel through a green and lush area, give the camels their due (and let them graze in peace), and if you travel through dry land, then pass quickly through that area. And when you wish to camp at night, camp away from the road, for it is the path of animals and the dwelling place of insects at night.
Hadith 8919
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible to sever relations for more than three days.
Hadith 8920
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَفَ عَلَى نَاسٍ جُلُوسٍ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِكُمْ مِنْ شَرِّكُمْ ؟ " قَالَ : فَسَكَتُوا ، فَقَالَ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبِرْنَا بِخَيْرِنَا مِنْ شَرِّنَا ، قَالَ : " خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ ، وَيُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ ، وَشَرُّكُمْ مَنْ لَا يُرْجَى خَيْرُهُ ، وَلَا يُؤْمَنُ شَرُّهُ " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that a group of people were sitting together when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to them and stood among them and said, "Shall I tell you who among you is the best and who is the worst?" The people remained silent. The Prophet (peace be upon him) repeated his words three times. Then one of them said, "Why not, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "The best among you is the one from whom good is expected and people are safe from his evil, and the worst among you is the one from whom no good is expected and people are not safe from his evil."
Hadith 8921
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ : هَذِهِ النَّارُ جُزْءٌ مِنْ مِائَةِ جُزْءٍ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ»
Qutaiba narrated to us: Abdul Aziz narrated to us from Suhail, from his father, from Abu Huraira: that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "This fire is one part out of one hundred parts of Hell."
Hadith 8922
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «لَا يَجْتَمِعُ الْكَافِرُ وَقَاتِلُهُ فِي النَّارِ أَبَدًا»
And it is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A disbeliever and his Muslim killer can never be together in Hell.
Hadith 8923
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ يَزِلُّ بِهَا فِي النَّارِ أَبْعَدَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Sometimes a person utters a word, considering there to be no harm in it, but as a result of that single word, on the Day of Resurrection, he will keep tumbling down in Hell over a distance between the east and the west.
Hadith 8924
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهْرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ ، مَا تَقُولُونَ ؟ هَلْ يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ ؟ " قَالُوا : لَا يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْءٌ ، قَالَ : " ذَاكَ مَثَلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ ، يَمْحُو اللَّهُ بِهَا الْخَطَايَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tell me, if there were a river flowing at the door of one of your houses and he bathed in it five times a day, do you think any dirt would remain on his body? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: No dirt would remain. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of the five daily prayers is like this, through which Allah Almighty forgives sins.
Hadith 8925
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْهَادِ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ لَمْ يَقُلْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 8926
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْإِيمَانُ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَسِتُّونَ بَابًا ، أَرْفَعُهَا وَأَعْلَاهَا قَوْلُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَأَدْنَاهَا إِمَاطَةُ الْأَذَى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Faith has sixty-four branches, the most excellent and highest of which is saying "La ilaha illallah" (There is no god but Allah), and the lightest of which is removing something harmful from the path.
Hadith 8927
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِلنَّاسِ : " أَحْسِنُوا صَلَاتَكُمْ ، فَإِنِّي أَرَاكُمْ مِنْ خَلْفِي كَمَا أَرَاكُمْ أَمَامِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the people: "I see behind me just as I see what is before me and in front of me, so perform your prayers well and properly."
Hadith 8928
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يُلْدَغُ مُؤْمِنٌ مِنْ جُحْرٍ وَاحِدٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A Muslim is not bitten twice from the same hole.
Hadith 8929
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، وَالْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " سَبَقَ دِرْهَمٌ دِرْهَمَيْنِ " ، قَالُوا : وَكَيْفَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " كَانَ لِرَجُلٍ دِرْهَمَانِ ، فَتَصَدَّقَ أَجْوَدَهمُا ، فَانْطَلَقَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عُرْضِ مَالِهِ فَأَخَذَ مِنْهُ مِائَةَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One dirham surpassed two dirhams." The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How is that?" He replied, "A man had only two dirhams, and he gave one of them in charity. Another man went to his vast wealth and took out one hundred thousand dirhams and gave them in charity."
Hadith 8930
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَنْ يَزَالَ عَلَى هَذَا الْأَمْرِ عِصَابَةٌ عَلَى الْحَقِّ ، لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ خِلَافُ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُمْ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A group will always remain steadfast on the truth in matters of religion, and the opposition of those who oppose them will not harm them, until Allah's command comes, and they will remain firm upon it.
Hadith 8931
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بن حكيم ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْمُسْلِمُ مَنْ سَلِمَ النَّاسُ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَيَدِهِ ، وَالْمُؤْمِنُ مَنْ آمَنَهُ النَّاسُ عَلَى دِمَائِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand other Muslims are safe, and a believer is one from whom people’s lives and wealth are secure.
Hadith 8932
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " عَلَى كُلِّ نَفْسٍ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ كُتِبَ حَظُّهُ مِنَ الزِّنَا ، أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ لَا مَحَالَةَ ، فَالْعَيْنُ زِنَاهَا النَّظَرُ ، وَالْآذَانُ زِنَاهَا الِاسْتِمَاعُ ، وَالْيَدُ زِنَاهَا الْبَطْشُ ، وَالرِّجْلُ زِنَاهَا الْمَشْيُ ، وَاللِّسَانُ زِنَاهُ الْكَلَامُ ، وَالْقَلْبُ يَهْوَى وَيَتَمَنَّى ، وَيُصَدِّقُ ذَلِكَ وَيُكَذِّبُهُ الْفَرْجُ " .
It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Allah has written for every human being his share of adultery, which he will inevitably get. The adultery of the eyes is looking, the adultery of the ears is listening, the adultery of the hands is touching, the adultery of the feet is walking, the adultery of the tongue is speaking. A person desires and wishes, while the private part either confirms or denies it.
Hadith 8933
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " يَكُونُ كَنْزُ أَحَدِهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ ذَا زَبِيبَتَيْنِ ، يَتْبَعُ صَاحِبَهُ وَهُوَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْهُ ، وَلَا يَزَالُ يَتْبَعُهُ حَتَّى يُلْقِمَهُ أُصْبُعَهُ " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: (Whoever possesses wealth and does not pay its due right) on the Day of Resurrection, that wealth will be turned into a bald snake with two fangs in its mouth, and it will pursue its owner until it takes his hand into its mouth and begins to chew it.
Hadith 8934
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ فِي حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ ، وَكَثْرَةِ الْمَالِ " .
And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In an old man, love for two things becomes young: long life and abundance of wealth.
Hadith 8935
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ يَعْنِي الشَّافِعِيَّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ ، وأبي الزناد ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " نَهَى عَنْ الْمُلَامَسَةِ وَالْمُنَابَذَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade buying and selling by touching or by throwing pebbles.
Hadith 8936
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الدِّينَارُ بِالدِّينَارِ ، وَالدِّرْهَمُ بِالدِّرْهَمِ ، لَا فَضْلَ بَيْنَهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A dinar will be for a dinar, and a dirham will be for a dirham, and there will be no increase or decrease between them.
Hadith 8937
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَبِعْ بَعْضُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ بَعْضٍ ، وَلَا يَبِعْ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ ، وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا ، وَلَا تَلَقَّوْا السِّلَعَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you should sell over the sale of another, nor should a townsman become a seller for a villager, do not deceive one another, and do not go out to meet traders outside (the city) to buy goods from them.
Hadith 8938
وَقَالَ : " مَطْلُ الْغَنِيِّ ظُلْمٌ ، وَإِذَا أُتْبِعَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى مَلِيءٍ فَلْيَتْبَعْ " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Delaying repayment by a wealthy person is injustice, and when any of you is referred to a wealthy person, he should pursue him.
Hadith 8939
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ خَوْلَةَ بِنْتَ يَسَارٍ أَتَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي إِلَّا ثَوْبٌ وَاحِدٌ ، وَأَنَا أَحِيضُ فِيهِ ، فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " إِذَا طَهُرْتِ فَاغْسِلِيهِ ، ثُمَّ صَلِّي فِيهِ " فَقَالَتْ : فَإِنْ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ الدَّمُ ؟ قَالَ : " يَكْفِيكِ الْمَاءُ ، وَلَا يَضُرُّكِ أَثَرُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that Khawla bint Yasar (may Allah be pleased with her) once came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I have only one garment and during my days of impurity, that is what I wear. What should I do?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When you become pure, wash the place where the blood has stained and then pray in that same garment." She submitted, "O Messenger of Allah, what if the mark of the blood does not go away?" He replied, "Water is sufficient; it does not matter if the mark does not disappear."
Hadith 8940
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ وَرْدَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَيُنْضِي شَيَاطِينَهُ كَمَا يُنْضِي أَحَدُكُمْ بَعِيرَهُ فِي السَّفَرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A believer makes the devils who follow him so lean, just as one of you makes his camel lean during a journey.
Hadith 8941
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الصُّوَرِ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَهَا ، يُعَذَّبُونَ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، يُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, those who make pictures will be punished, and it will be said to them, "Give life to what you have created."
Hadith 8942
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ ، وَالْفِقْهُ يَمَانٍ ، وَالْحِكْمَةُ يَمَانِيَةٌ ، أَتَاكُمْ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ ، فَهُمْ أَرَقُّ أَفْئِدَةً ، وَأَلْيَنُ قُلُوبًا ، وَالْكُفْرُ قِبَلَ الْمَشْرِقِ ، وَالْفَخْرُ وَالْخُيَلَاءُ فِي أَهْلِ الْخَيْلِ وَالْإِبِلِ وَالْفَدَّادِينَ أَهْلِ الْوَبَرِ ، وَالسَّكِينَةُ فِي أَهْلِ الْغَنَمِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Yemen have come to you; these people are soft-hearted, and faith, wisdom, and jurisprudence are very excellent among the people of Yemen. And disbelief is on the eastern side. Pride and arrogance are found among the owners of horses and camels, and calmness and tranquility are found among the owners of goats.
Hadith 8943
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بن سعيد ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَجْرِي فِي وَجْهِهِ ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَسْرَعَ فِي مَشْيِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَأَنَّمَا الْأَرْضُ تُطْوَى لَهُ ، إِنَّا لَنُجْهِدُ أَنْفُسَنَا ، وَإِنَّهُ لَغَيْرُ مُكْتَرِثٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he never saw anyone more handsome than the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it seemed as if the sun was shining on his (peace be upon him) forehead. And he never saw anyone faster than the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); it seemed as if the earth was being folded up for him. We would exert ourselves greatly to walk with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but no sign of exertion would be seen on the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 8944
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ النَّضْرِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " حُفَّتْ الْجَنَّةُ بِالْمَكَارِهِ ، وَحُفَّتْ النَّارُ بِالشَّهَوَاتِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hell has been surrounded by desirable passions, and Paradise has been surrounded by undesirable (difficult) matters.
Hadith 8945
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ دَرَّاجٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ حُجَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " سَافِرُوا تَصِحُّوا ، وَاغْزُوا تَسْتَغْنُوا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Travel and you will remain healthy, and perform jihad and you will remain independent.
Hadith 8946
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ فِي حُبِّ اثْنَيْنِ طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ ، وَكَثْرَةِ الْمَالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In an old man, the love for two things becomes young: a long life and abundance of wealth and property.
Hadith 8947
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَحْلَاءَ ، عَنْ مُحْصِنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ وُضُوءَهُ ، ثُمَّ رَاحَ فَوَجَدَ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلَّوْا ، أَعْطَاهُ اللَّهُ مِثْلَ أَجْرِ مَنْ صَلَّاهَا أَوْ حَضَرَهَا ، لَا يَنْقُصُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْئًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever performs ablution and does it well, then goes out and reaches the mosque, but upon arrival finds that the people have already performed the prayer, Allah Almighty will grant him the reward of the congregational prayer, and there will be no decrease in the reward of those who performed it.
Hadith 8948
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَيُّمَا ضَيْفٍ نَزَلَ بِقَوْمٍ ، فَأَصْبَحَ الضَّيْفُ مَحْرُومًا ، فَلَهُ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ بِقَدْرِ قِرَاهُ ، وَلَا حَرَجَ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever becomes a guest with a people but remains deprived till morning, then to the extent of hospitality, he may take something from anyone and eat it, and there will be no sin upon him.
Hadith 8949
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْهَاشِمِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُبْسَتَيْنِ وَعَنْ بَيْعَتَيْنِ ، فَأَمَّا اللُّبْسَتَانِ : فَإِنَّهُ يَلْتَحِفُ فِي ثَوْبِهِ ، وَيُخْرِجُ شِقَّهُ ، أَوْ يَحْتَبِي بِثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ، فَيُفْضِي بِفَرْجِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، وَأَمَّا الْبَيْعَتَانِ : فَالْمُلَامَسَةُ أَلْقِ إِلَيَّ ، وَأُلْقِ إِلَيْكَ ، وَأَلْقِ الْحَجَرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade two types of buying and selling and two types of clothing. As for clothing, it is that a person sits wrapped in a single garment with nothing covering his private parts at all, and that a person wraps himself in his lower garment while praying. And he forbade two types of sales: (1) Mulamasa, that is, the buyer says, "You throw something towards me or I throw something towards you," and (2) the sale by throwing a stone.
Hadith 8950
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو زُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا مَرَّتْ بِهِ جِنَازَةٌ سَأَلَهُمْ : " أعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ ؟ " فَإِنْ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " تَرَكَ وَفَاءً ؟ " فَإِنْ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ، وَإِلَّا قَالَ : " صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when a funeral was brought to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he would first ask, "Does this person have any debt?" If the people said, "Yes," the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would ask, "Has he left anything to repay it?" If the people said, "Yes!" then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would lead the funeral prayer for him. But if they replied in the negative, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say, "You should offer the funeral prayer of your companion yourselves."
Hadith 8951
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، وَكَانَ مِنَ الْقَارَةِ ، وَهُوَ حَلِيفٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَحْمِلُونَ اللَّبِنَ لِبِنَاءِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَارِضٌ لَبِنَةً عَلَى بَطْنِهِ ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهَا قَدْ شُقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ، قُلْتُ : نَاوِلْنِيهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " خُذْ غَيْرَهَا يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيْشُ الْآخِرَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were carrying bricks for the construction of the mosque. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was also participating with them in this work. Meanwhile, I happened to meet the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and saw that he had placed a brick on his stomach. I thought perhaps he was having difficulty carrying it, so I said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), please give it to me." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Abu Hurairah, take another brick, for the real life is the life of the Hereafter."
Hadith 8952
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُ لِأُتَمِّمَ صَالِحَ الْأَخْلَاقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been sent only to perfect good character.
Hadith 8953
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " عَلَيْكَ السَّمْعَ وَالطَّاعَةَ فِي عُسْرِكَ وَيُسْرِكَ ، وَمَنْشَطِكَ وَمَكْرَهِكَ ، وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ " ، وَقَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ : الطَّاعَةُ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ : السَّمْعَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: In hardship and ease, in enthusiasm and laziness, and even when others are given preference over you, you must listen to and obey the leader.
Hadith 8954
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ نُمَيْلَةَ الْفَزَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ عِنْدَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَسُئِلَ عَنْ أَكْلِ الْقُنْفُذِ ، فَتَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ : قُلْ لا أَجِدُ فِي مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا سورة الأنعام آية 145 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ ، فَقَالَ شَيْخٌ عِنْدَه : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " خَبِيثٌ مِنَ الْخَبَائِثِ " ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : إِنْ كَانَ قَالَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ .
Hazrat Namila Fazari says that once I was present in the service of Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) when someone asked him about the "Siyah" (a particular kind of animal). He recited this verse before him: "Say: I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden..." to the end. Then an elder said that I heard Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) say that once this was mentioned before the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that it is among the filthy things. Upon this, Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that if indeed the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this, then it is just as the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said.
