Hadith 8995
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا أَفْلَسَ الرَّجُلُ ، فَوَجَدَ غَرِيمُهُ مَتَاعَهُ عِنْدَ الْمُفْلِسِ بِعَيْنِهِ ، فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a man is declared bankrupt and someone finds his own property with him in its original form, then he has more right to that property than others.
Hadith 8996
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ خِلَاسِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ يَعْنِي الصَّائِغَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لِلْمُؤْمِنِ زَوْجَتَانِ ، يُرَى مُخُّ سُوقِهِمَا ، مِنْ فَوْقِ ثِيَابِهِمَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every one of the people of Paradise will have two wives, the marrow of whose shins will be visible from outside their clothes.
Hadith 8997
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ اطَّلَعَ فِي بَيْتِ قَوْمٍ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِمْ ، فَفَقَئُوا عَيْنَهُ ، فَلَا دِيَةَ لَهُ وَلَا قِصَاصَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person peeps into someone’s house without permission and he is struck with a pebble which causes his eye to be gouged out, there is no blood money or retribution for it.
Hadith 8998
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not accompany a caravan in which there is a dog or bells.
Hadith 8999
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَفْوَانَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِلْمَدِينَةِ : " لَتَتْرُكَنَّهَا عَلَى خَيْرِ مَا كَانَتْ ، مُذَلَّلَةً لِلْعَوَافِي " يَعْنِي السِّبَاعَ وَالطَّيْرَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will come when people will leave Madinah Munawwarah despite it being in the best of conditions, and only wild animals and birds will remain there."
Hadith 9000
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَيَرْتَقِيَنَّ جَبَّارٌ مِنْ جَبَابِرَةِ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ عَلَى مِنْبَرِي هَذَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Soon, one of the oppressors from among the oppressors of Banu Umayyah will seize control of this pulpit of mine.
Hadith 9001
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : وَثَابِتٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever fasts in Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, all his past sins will be forgiven.
Hadith 9002
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ، إِنْ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُدْخِلُهُ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ " ، قَالُوا : وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ وَفَضْلٍ " وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, none of you will enter Paradise because of his deeds. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), not even you?" He replied, "Not even I, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his hand on his head.
Hadith 9003
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي بْنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ ، وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The child belongs to the (owner of the) bed, and for the adulterer there are stones.
Hadith 9004
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى الَّذِي يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard Abul Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: Whoever drags his lower garment on the ground out of pride, Allah will not look at him with mercy.
Hadith 9005
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْعَجْمَاءُ جُبَارٌ ، وَالْبِئْرُ جُبَارٌ ، وَالْمَعْدِنُ جُبَارٌ ، وَفِي الرِّكَازِ الْخُمْسُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The blood of one who is killed by an animal is wasted; the blood of one who dies by falling into a well is wasted; the blood of one who dies in a mine is also wasted; and for the buried treasure (found by someone), one-fifth (khums) is obligatory.
Hadith 9006
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ اشْتَرَى شَاةً مُصَرَّاةً ، فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ ، إِنْ شَاءَ رَدَّهَا وَصَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever buys a goat (being deceived) whose udders have been tied, then he should either keep the animal with himself (and settle the matter) or return the animal to its owner and along with it give one sa’ of dates.
Hadith 9007
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، وَعَطَاءٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَسْرِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَزْنِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَغُلُّ حِينَ يَغُلُّ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ، وَلَا يَنْتَهِبُ حِينَ يَنْتَهِبُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " ، وَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ 63 : " وَلَا يَنْتَهِبُ نُهْبَةً ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " ، قَالَ بَهْزٌ : فَقِيلَ لَهُ ، قَالَ : إِنَّهُ يُنْتَزَعُ مِنْهُ الْإِيمَانُ ، فَإِنْ تَابَ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَطَاءٍ : " نُهْبَةً ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person steals, he is not a believer at that moment; when a person drinks alcohol, he is not a believer at that moment; and when a person commits adultery, he is not a believer at that moment; when a person is dishonest with war booty, he is not a believer at that moment; and when a person commits robbery, he is not a believer at that moment.
Hadith 9008
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ ، وَمَا زَادَ اللَّهُ رَجُلًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلَّا عِزًّا ، وَمَا تَوَاضَعَ أَحَدٌ لِلَّهِ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wealth does not decrease by giving charity, and whoever forgives a wrong done to him, Allah increases him in honor, and whoever adopts humility for the sake of Allah, Allah grants him elevation.
Hadith 9009
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَاللَّفْظِ ، وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَاللَّفْظِ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لَهُ : مَا الْغِيبَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " ذِكْرُكَ أَخَاكَ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ " ، قَالَ : أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ فِي أَخِي مَا أَقُولُ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنْ كَانَ فِي أَخِيكَ مَا تَقُولُ ، فَقَدْ اغْتَبْتَهُ ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ مَا تَقُولُ ، فَقَدْ بَهَتَّهُ " .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! What is backbiting?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Backbiting is that you mention about your brother something regarding a fault which is not in him." Someone asked, "Please tell us, if my brother actually has that fault which I mention in his absence, then what is the ruling?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If the fault you mention is present in him, then you have committed backbiting against him, and if the fault you mention is not present in him, then you have slandered him."
Hadith 9010
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ " ، قَالُوا : قَصُرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ ؟ قَالَ : " فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) by mistake led two rak'ahs of Zuhr prayer and ended the prayer with salam. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted, "Has the prayer been shortened?" Upon this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, added two more rak'ahs, and after ending the prayer with salam, performed two prostrations of forgetfulness (sujood as-sahw).
Hadith 9011
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ائْتُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ السَّكِينَةُ ، فَصَلُّوا مَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ ، وَاقْضُوا مَا سَبَقَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Come to prayer with calmness and tranquility; whatever part of the prayer you catch, perform it, and complete what you have missed.
Hadith 9012
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنِ الْأَغَرِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " صَلَاةٌ فِي مَسْجِدِي هَذَا ، أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ إِلَّا الْكَعْبَةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The reward for offering prayer in my mosque is one thousand times greater than in all other mosques except Masjid al-Haram.
Hadith 9013
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ زُرَارَةَ بْنَ أَوْفَى يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا بَاتَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ هَاجِرَةً فِرَاشَ زَوْجِهَا ، لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a woman spends the night away from her husband's bed (due to displeasure), the angels continue to curse her all night until she returns."
Hadith 9014
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَارَةَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُطَوِّسِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فِي غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ رَخَّصَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ ، فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ الدَّهْرَ كُلَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever leaves or breaks a fast of Ramadan without any excuse, then even if he fasts for his entire life, those fasts will not be accepted in place of that one fast.
Hadith 9015
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ ، وَقَالَ : أَبُو عَوَانَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ ، وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ ، وَمَنْ أَطَاعَ الْأَمِيرَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَنِي ، وَمَنْ عَصَى الْأَمِيرَ فَقَدْ عَصَانِي ، وَالْأَمِيرُ مِجَنٌّ ، فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَقُولُوا : اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا وَافَقَ ذَلِكَ قَوْلَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ غُفِرَ لَكُمْ ، وَإِنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever obeys me has indeed obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed Allah. Whoever obeys the leader has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys the leader has disobeyed me. And the leader is like a shield, so when he says the takbeer, you also say the takbeer; when he bows (in ruku‘), you also bow; when he says "Sami‘ Allahu liman hamidah," you say "Rabbana lakal hamd"; and when he prays sitting, then all of you also pray sitting.
Hadith 9016
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ ، وَمَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا وَتَبِعَهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ " ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ انْظُرْ مَا تُحَدِّثُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَإِنَّك تُكْثِرُ الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ ، فَذَهَبَ بِهِ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ ، فَصَدَّقَتْ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : وَاللَّهِ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، مَا كَانَ يَشْغَلُنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّفْقُ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ ، مَا كَانَ يُهِمُّنِي مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا كَلِمَةً يُعَلِّمُنِيهَا أَوْ لُقْمَةً يَلْقُمُنِيهَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever offers the funeral prayer for someone will receive a reward equal to one qirat, and whoever waits until the burial is completed will receive a reward equal to two qirats. Upon hearing this hadith, Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: Abu Huraira! Be careful when narrating hadith, because you narrate a great number of hadiths from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) took his hand and brought him to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) confirmed the statement of Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him). Then Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Abu Abdur Rahman, by Allah, my dealings in the markets did not prevent me from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). My only purpose was that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would explain something to me or give me a morsel to eat.
Hadith 9017
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدِ بْنِ خُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِقُرَيْشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّهُ " نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْغَنَائِمِ حَتَّى تُقْسَمَ ، وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرَةِ حَتَّى تُحْرَزَ مِنْ كُلِّ عَارِضٍ ، وَأَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الرَّجُلُ حَتَّى يَحْتَزِمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale and purchase of spoils of war before their distribution and the sale and purchase of fruits before they are safe from every calamity. He also forbade performing prayer before tightening the waist-belt.
Hadith 9018
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا شَكَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسْوَةَ قَلْبِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " امْسَحْ رَأْسَ الْيَتِيمِ ، وَأَطْعِمْ الْمِسْكِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he complained to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the hardness of his heart. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: (If you want to soften your heart) then feed the poor and gently place your hand with affection on the head of the orphan.
Hadith 9019
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيه ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَخَذَ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ شِبْرًا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ ، طُوِّقَهُ مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضيِنَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever unjustly seizes a piece of land belonging to someone else, on the Day of Resurrection, a collar made from that piece, from seven earths, will be placed around his neck.
Hadith 9020
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيه ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم قَالَ : " هُنَّ أَيَّامُ طُعْم " ، قَالَ أَبُو عَوَانَة : يَعْنِي أَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيق .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The days of Tashreeq are days of eating and drinking.
Hadith 9021
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيه ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قِيل : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , مَا الطِّيَرَةُ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا طَائِر " ، ثَلَاثَ مَرَّات ، وَقَالَ : " خَيْرُ الْفَأْلِ الْكَلِمَةُ الطَّيِّبَةُ " .
It is narrated from the previous chain that a person asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by bad omen?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "There is no reality in bad omen, but the best omen is a good word."
Hadith 9022
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم قَالَ : " إِذَا سَمِعَ أَحَدُكُمْ الْإِقَامَةَ , فَلْيَأْتِ عَلَيْهِ السَّكِينَةُ , فَمَا أَدْرَكَ فَلْيُصَلِّ ، وَمَا فَاتَهُ فَلْيُتِمَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you hears the call for Iqamah, he should come with calmness and tranquility. Whatever part of the prayer he catches, he should perform, and whatever he misses, he should complete.
Hadith 9023
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الرَّاشِيَ وَالْمُرْتَشِيَ فِي الْحُكْمِ " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In judgment, Allah's curse is upon both the one who gives a bribe and the one who takes it (especially).
Hadith 9024
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَنْظُرْ مَا الَّذِي يَتَمَنَّى ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي مَا الَّذِي يُكْتَبُ لَهُ مِنْ أُمْنِيَّتِهِ " .
It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you wishes for something, let him see what he is wishing for, because he does not know what has been written for him from his wish.
Hadith 9025
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أُحُدًا هَذَا جَبَلٌ يُحِبُّنَا وَنُحِبُّهُ " . قَال عبد الله : قَالَ أَبِي فِيهَا كُلِّهَا ، فِي هَذِهِ الْأَرْبَعَة : قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ .
It is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This Uhud mountain loves us and we love it.
Hadith 9026
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " خُذُوا مِنَ الشَّوَارِب ، وَأَعْفُوا اللِّحَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Trim the moustaches well and let the beard grow abundantly.
Hadith 9027
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا يَزَالُونَ يَسْأَلُونَ حَتَّى يُقَالَ : هَذَا اللَّهُ خَلَقَنَا ، فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ؟ " . قَالَ : فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَة فَوَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَجَالِسٌ يَوْمًا , إِذْ قَالَ لِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ : هَذَا اللَّهُ خَلَقَنَا ، فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَل ؟ ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَة فَجَعَلْتُ أُصْبُعَيَّ فِي أُذُنَيَّ ، ثُمَّ صِحْتُ ، فَقُلْتُ : صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ , اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الصَّمَد ، لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ .
And that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: People will continue asking questions until they reach the point where they say, "Allah created us, but who created Allah?" Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, says: By Allah, one day I was sitting when an Iraqi man came and said, "Allah created us, but who created Allah?" Upon hearing his question, I put my fingers in my ears and shouted loudly, "Allah and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, have spoken the absolute truth. Allah is One and Self-Sufficient. He did not beget, nor was He begotten, and there is none comparable to Him."
Hadith 9028
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَغَارُ ، وَمِنْ غَيْرَةِ اللَّهِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُ مَا حُرِّمَ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah Almighty is protective, and Allah’s protectiveness is that a person should not go near the things that Allah has forbidden.
Hadith 9029
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيُوتِرْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you performs istinja with stones, he should use an odd number of stones.
Hadith 9030
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا أَبَقَ الْعَبْدُ ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً : إِذَا سَرَقَ العبد فَبِعْهُ ، وَلَوْ بِنَشٍّ " . وَالنَّشُّ : نِصْفُ الْأُوقِيَّةِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When someone's slave steals and runs away, he should sell him, even if it is for a small price.
Hadith 9031
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الرَّاشِيَ وَالْمُرْتَشِيَ فِي الْحُكْمِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In judgment, especially, the curse of Allah is upon both the one who gives and the one who takes a bribe.
Hadith 9032
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّان ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَة ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " ثَلَاثٌ كُلُّهُنَّ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ : عِيَادَةُ الْمَرِيضِ ، وَشُهُودُ الْجِنَازَةِ ، وَتَشْمِيتُ الْعَاطِسِ إِذَا حَمِدَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are three things that are the right of every Muslim upon another Muslim: to visit the sick, to attend the funeral, and to respond to the one who sneezes when he says "Alhamdulillah" (by saying "Yarhamuk Allah").
Hadith 9033
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَة ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَش ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَكْثَرُ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فِي الْبَوْلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Most of the punishment of the grave is due to not protecting oneself from the splashes of urine.
Hadith 9034
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَشْكُرُ اللَّهَ مَنْ لَا يَشْكُرُ النَّاسَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever does not thank people does not thank Allah.
