Hadith 9075
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عن أَبِي يُونُسَ . ح وَحَسَنٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " الْمُكْثِرُونَ هُمْ الْأَقَلُّونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، إِلَّا مَنْ قَالَ بِالْمَالِ هَكَذَا , وَهَكَذَا , وَهَكَذَا " . قَالَ يَحْيَى : " وَقَلِيلٌ مَا هُمْ " . قَالَ حَسَنٌ : وَأَشَارَ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ , وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ , وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ , وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Those who possess abundant wealth and riches will be the ones in scarcity on the Day of Judgment, except for those who distribute it with their own hands, giving it to the right, left, and in front."
Hadith 9076
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ : أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي بِي ، إِنْ ظَنَّ بِي خَيْرًا فَلَهُ ، وَإِنْ ظَنَّ شَرًّا فَلَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "I deal with My servant according to his expectation of Me. If he thinks well, I deal with him with goodness, and if he thinks ill, I deal with him accordingly."
Hadith 9077
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَمْروٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَ خَلْقِي ؟ ! فَلْيَخْلُقْ ذَرَّةً أَوْ حَبَّةً " . وَقَالَ يَحْيَى مَرَّةً : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " وَمَنْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "Who can be more unjust than the one who tries to create like Me? Such people should try to create a particle or a grain."
Hadith 9078
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا ضَحَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَأْكُلْ مِنْ أُضْحِيَّتِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you offers a sacrifice, he should also eat from the meat of his sacrificial animal himself.
Hadith 9079
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " النَّاسُ مَعَادِنُ ، خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، خِيَارُهُمْ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ إِذَا فَقِهُوا فِي الدِّينِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People are like hidden treasures (mines), those who were the best in the time of ignorance are also the best in the time of Islam, provided that they become learned in religion.
Hadith 9080
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ بَيَّاعِ الْمُلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ : ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ وَقَلِيلٌ مِنَ الآخِرِينَ سورة الواقعة آية 13 - 14 ، شَقَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَنَزَلَتْ : ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الأَوَّلِينَ وَثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الآخِرِينَ سورة الواقعة آية 39 - 40 ، فَقَالَ : " أَنْتُمْ ثُلُثُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، بَلْ أَنْتُمْ نِصْفُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَتُقَاسِمُونَهُمْ النِّصْفَ الْبَاقِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when this verse was revealed: "A multitude from the former peoples and a few from the later peoples," this was very hard on the Muslims (that only a few from the latter people would be destined for Paradise). Then this verse was revealed: that there will be a group from the former and a group from the latter. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You will be a third of all the people of Paradise, rather half, and in the remaining half, they will be your partners."
Hadith 9081
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، نَبِّئْنِي بِأَحَقِّ النَّاسِ مِنِّي صُحْبَةً ، فَقَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، وَاللَّهِ لَتُنَبَّأَنَّ " ، قَالَ : مَنْ ؟ ، قَالَ : " أُمُّكَ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ ، قَالَ : " أُمُّكَ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ ، قَالَ : " أَبُوكَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the presence of the Messenger and asked this question: "Who among the people is most deserving of good companionship from me?" The Prophet replied, "You will certainly get the answer." He asked, "Who?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Your mother." He asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." He asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Your mother." He asked, "Then who?" He replied, "Your father."
Hadith 9082
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ ، قَالَ : " وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ خَلْقًا كَخَلْقِي ، فَلْيَخْلُقُوا مِثْلَ خَلْقِي ، ذَرَّةً أَوْ ذُبَابَةً أَوْ حَبَّةً " .
It is narrated marfu'an from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah Almighty says: Who can be more unjust than the one who tries to create like Me? Such people should try to create a particle, or a grain, or a fly.
Hadith 9083
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَيْرٍ يَعْنِي عَبْدَ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَال عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ : " أَشْعَرُ بَيْتٍ قَالَتْهُ الْعَرَبُ : أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللَّهَ بَاطِلُ . وَكَادَ أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said from the pulpit: The truest verse ever spoken by a poet is this: Beware! Everything besides Allah is false (perishable), and it was near that Umayyah bin Abi al-Salt would have accepted Islam.
Hadith 9084
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، يَرْفَعُهُ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا ، وَلَا تُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا ، أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى رَأْسِ ذَلِكَ , أَوْ مِلَاكِ ذَلِكَ ؟ ، أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ " . وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ شَرِيكٌ : " أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ ؟ ، أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu’ form that you cannot enter Paradise until you become a complete believer, and you cannot become complete until you love one another. Shall I not tell you the root of these things? Spread salam (greetings of peace) among yourselves.
Hadith 9085
وحَدَّثَنَاه ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، مَعْنَاهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 9086
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا يَرِيهِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is much better for a man's stomach to be filled with pus until he is satisfied than for it to be filled with poetry.
Hadith 9087
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ يُكْلَمُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ , وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ يُكْلَمُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ ، يَأْتِي الْجُرْحُ لَوْنُهُ لَوْنُ دَمٍ ، وَرِيحُهُ رِيحُ الْمِسْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever receives a wound in the path of Allah—and Allah knows who is wounded in His path—he will come on the Day of Resurrection with his wound fresh, just as it was on the day it was inflicted. Its color will be like blood, but its fragrance will be like musk.
Hadith 9088
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، رَفَعَهُ , قَالَ : " نَهَى عَنِ الْمُحَاقَلَةِ : وَهُوَ اشْتِرَاءُ الزَّرْعِ وَهُوَ فِي سُنْبُلِهِ بِالْحِنْطَةِ ، وَنَهَى عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ : وَهُوَ شِرَاءُ الثِّمَارِ بِالتَّمْرِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) in a marfu’ form that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the sale of Muhaqalah, that is, selling fruit while it is still in the clusters in exchange for wheat, and he also forbade the sale of Muzabanah, which means selling fruit in exchange for dates.
Hadith 9089
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، رَفَعَهُ , قَالَ : " لَا تَصْحَبُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ ، رُفْقَةً فِيهَا جَرَسٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Angels do not accompany a caravan in which there is a dog or bells.
Hadith 9090
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " يُبْعَثُ النَّاسُ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ شَرِيكٌ : يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: People will be raised according to their intentions.
Hadith 9091
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، فِي تَفْسِيرِ شَيْبَانَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَ الْحَسَنُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ كَانُوا يَغْتَسِلُونَ عُرَاةً ، وَكَانَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام مِنْهُ الْحَيَاءُ وَالسِّتْرُ ، وَكَانَ يَسْتَتِرُ إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ ، فَطَعَنُوا فِيهِ بِعَوْرَةٍ ، قَالَ : فَبَيْنَمَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام يَغْتَسِلُ يَوْمًا ، وَضَعَ ثِيَابَهُ عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ ، فَانْطَلَقَتْ الصَّخْرَةُ بِثِيَابِهِ ، فَاتَّبَعَهَا نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ضَرْبًا بِعَصَاهُ ، وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : ثَوْبِي يَا حَجَرُ ، ثَوْبِي يَا حَجَرُ ، حَتَّى انْتَهَى بِهِ إِلَى مَلَإٍ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، وَتَوَسَّطَهُمْ ، فَقَامَتْ ، وَأَخَذَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ثِيَابَهُ , فَنَظَرُوا ، فَإِذَا أَحْسَنُ النَّاسِ خَلْقًا وَأَعْدَلُهُمْ صُورَةً ، فَقَالَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ : قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ أَفَّاكِي بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، فَكَانَتْ بَرَاءَتُهُ الَّتِي بَرَّأَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Bani Israel used to bathe naked, while Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him), out of modesty, used to bathe alone. The people of Bani Israel began to cast aspersions on his private parts. Once, when Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) went to bathe, as usual he took off his clothes and placed them on a stone. That stone ran away with his clothes. Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) ran after it, saying, "O stone, my clothes! O stone, my clothes!" until he reached near a group of Bani Israel, and the stone stopped there. Their eyes fell upon the private parts of Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him), and they saw that Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) was extremely handsome and well-proportioned in body and appearance. They began to say, "May Allah's curse be upon those among Bani Israel who cast aspersions." In this way, Allah cleared Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) of what they accused him of.
Hadith 9092
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : وَأَحْسِبُهُ ذَكَرَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا هِجْرَةَ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ ، فَمَنْ هَجَرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ فَمَاتَ ، دَخَلَ النَّارَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not permissible to sever relations for more than three days. Whoever breaks off communication with his brother for more than three days and dies in that state will enter Hell.
Hadith 9093
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَرْقُدَنَّ جُنُبًا حَتَّى تَتَوَضَّأَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not sleep in a state of impurity (janabah), rather perform ablution (wudu) before sleeping.
Hadith 9094
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي ، وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Name yourselves after me, but do not take my kunya (patronymic name) as your kunya."
Hadith 9095
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَقِيَ آدَمَ مُوسَى ، فَقَالَ : أَنْتَ آدَمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ اللَّهُ بِيَدِهِ ، وَأَسْكَنَكَ جَنَّتَهُ ، وَأَسْجَدَ لَكَ مَلَائِكَتَهُ ، ثُمَّ صَنَعْتَ مَا صَنَعْتَ ؟ ! ، فَقَالَ آدَمُ لِمُوسَى : أَنْتَ الَّذِي كَلَّمَكَ اللَّهُ ، وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ التَّوْرَاةَ ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : فَهَلْ تَجِدُهُ مَكْتُوبًا عَلَيَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُخْلَقَ ؟ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : فَحَجَّ آدَمُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَام " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once, in the realm of souls, Hazrat Adam and Musa (peace be upon them) met each other. Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) said, "Are you the same Adam whom Allah created with His own Hand of Power, settled you in His Paradise, made His angels prostrate before you, and then you committed that act?" Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) replied, "Are you the one to whom Allah spoke and upon whom He revealed the Torah?" Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) said, "Yes." Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) asked, "Did you find this command written in the Torah before my creation?" He replied, "Yes!" In this way, Hazrat Adam (peace and blessings be upon him) prevailed over Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him).
Hadith 9096
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَكْثَرُ مَا يَلِجُ بِهِ الْإِنْسَانُ النَّارَ الْأَجْوَفَانِ الْفَمُ ، وَالْفَرْجُ ، وَأَكْثَرُ مَا يَلِجُ بِهِ الْإِنْسَانُ الْجَنَّةَ تَقْوَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَحُسْنُ الْخُلُقِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Two hollow things, that is, the mouth and the private parts, will take people to Hell the most, and what will take people to Paradise the most in abundance is piety and good character.
Hadith 9097
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْتُورُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَبَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، قَالَ : لَقِيَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْبَيْتِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَنْتَ نَهَيْتَ النَّاسَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " لَا , وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ ، وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْهُ " .
Muhammad bin Ja'far says that a man met Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah. He said, "O Abu Hurairah! Have you forbidden people from fasting on Friday?" He replied, "By the Lord of the House (Ka'bah), no! Rather, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden it."
Hadith 9098
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُخْتَارِ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ فَيْرُوزَ الدَّانَاج ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَافِعٍ الصَّائِغُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : ثَلَاثَةٌ حَفِظْتُهُنَّ عَنْ خَلِيلِي أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْوَتْرُ قَبْلَ النَّوْمِ ، وَصَوْمُ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ، وَرَكْعَتَيْ الضُّحَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have preserved three things from my beloved friend Abul Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him): (1) to perform Witr prayer before sleeping, (2) to fast three days in every month, (3) to perform two rak'ahs at the time of Duha (forenoon).
Hadith 9099
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ مَوْلَى حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَزْرَقِ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ، أَحَدِ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ بْنِ قُصَيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ جَاءَهُ نَاسٌ صَيَّادُونَ فِي الْبَحْرِ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا أَهْلُ أَرْمَاثٍ ، وَإِنَّا نَتَزَوَّدُ مَاءً يَسِيرًا إِنْ شَرِبْنَا مِنْهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ مَا نَتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ ، وَإِنْ تَوَضَّأْنَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ مَا نَشْرَبُ ، أَفَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ ؟ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَهُوَ الطَّهُورُ مَاؤُهُ الْحِلُّ مَيْتَتُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people who hunted in the sea came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and they asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), we travel by sea and carry only a little water with us for drinking. If we use it for ablution, we will remain thirsty, and if we drink it, there will be no water left for ablution. Can we perform ablution with sea water?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "The water of the sea is purifying and its dead (fish) is lawful."

Hadith 9101
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ : أَنْصِتْ ، فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the Imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you say to your companion even this much, "Be quiet," then you have engaged in idle talk.
Hadith 9102
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ ، فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ ، وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ ، وَيُمَجِّسَانِهِ ، كَمَثَلِ الْبَهِيمَةِ تُنْتِجُ الْبَهِيمَةَ ، هَلْ تَكُونُ فِيهَا جَدْعَاءُ ؟ ! " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every child is born upon pure nature; later, his parents make him a Jew, Christian, or Magian. Its example is like an animal giving birth to an animal—do you find any defect in it?
Hadith 9103
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ أَوْلَادِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once someone asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the ruling regarding the children of polytheists who die in infancy. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied that Allah knows best what deeds they would have performed had they grown up.
Hadith 9104
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا أَمَمْتُمْ النَّاسَ فَخَفِّفُوا ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمْ الْكَبِيرَ ، وَالضَّعِيفَ وَالصَّغِيرَ " . وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ : عَنْ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ مولى عَمْرِو بْنِ خِدَاشٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When you lead the prayer as an imam, make the prayer light, because among the worshippers there are elderly, weak, and children as well.
Hadith 9105
حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ ، وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ ، فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The intensity of heat is due to the effect of the heat of Hell, therefore perform the prayer when it becomes cooler.
Hadith 9106
حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : كَانَ لِرَجُلٍ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سِنٌّ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ ، فَجَاءَهُ يَتَقَاضَاهُ ، فَطَلَبُوا لَهُ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلَّا سِنًّا فَوْقَ سِنِّهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَعْطُوهُ " . فَقَالَ : أَوْفَيْتَنِي أَوْفَى اللَّهُ لَكَ . قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِنَّ خِيَارَكُمْ أَحْسَنُكُمْ قَضَاءً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to demand his camel. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the companions (may Allah be pleased with them), "Find a camel of the same age as his and bring it." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) searched but could not find a camel of the required age; every camel was older than that. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Then give him an older camel." The Bedouin said, "You have paid me in full, may Allah give you in full." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The best among you is the one who is best in repaying debts."
Hadith 9107
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا جَلَسَ بَيْنَ شُعَبِهَا الْأَرْبَعِ ، ثُمَّ جَهَدَها ، فَقَدْ وَجَبَ الْغُسْلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a man sits between the four corners of his wife and makes an effort, then ghusl becomes obligatory upon him.
Hadith 9108
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ لِأُمَّتِي عَمَّا حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسَهَا ، مَا لَمْ تُكَلِّمْ بِهِ أَوْ تَعْمَلْ بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: My Ummah has been granted concession that they will not be held accountable for the thoughts that arise in their minds, provided that they do not act upon those thoughts or express them with their tongues.
Hadith 9109
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا تَبَاغَضُوا ، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا ، وَلَا تَنَافَسُوا ، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not harbor enmity against one another, do not deceive or envy one another, and O servants of Allah! Live as brothers among yourselves.
Hadith 9110
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَصْدَقُ كَلِمَةٍ قَالَهَا الشَّاعِرُ : أَلَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ مَا خَلَا اللَّهَ بَاطِلُ ، وَكَادَ أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The truest verse ever spoken by a poet is this: Beware! Everything besides Allah is false (perishable), and it was near that Umayyah bin Abi al-Salt would have accepted Islam.
Hadith 9111
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ الْأُكْلَةُ وَالْأُكْلَتَانِ ، أَوْ التَّمْرَةُ وَالتَّمْرَتَانِ ، وَلَكِنْ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي لَا يَسْأَلُ شَيْئًا ، وَلَا يُفْطَنُ بِمَكَانِهِ فَيُعْطَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The needy is not the one who can be turned away with two dates or one or two morsels; the real needy is the one who does not ask anything from people, and others do not know of his needs so that they may spend on him.
Hadith 9112
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : " الصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، يَدَعُ طَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ ، وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ : فَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يُفْطِرُ ، وَفَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يَلْقَى اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فِيهِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "Fasting is exclusively for Me, and I Myself will give its reward." The fasting person experiences joy and happiness at two occasions: when he breaks his fast, he is happy, and when he meets Allah and Allah grants him his reward, he will also be happy. By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
Hadith 9113
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ الْإِبِلَ نِسَاءُ قُرَيْشٍ ، أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍ ، وَأَرْعَاهُ عَلَى زَوْجٍ فِي ذَاتِ يَدِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best women who ride camels are the women of Quraysh, who are most compassionate to their children in childhood and are the greatest protectors of their husbands' honor.
Hadith 9114
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : " يَشْتُمُنِي ابْنُ آدَمَ وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يَشْتُمَنِي , وَيُكَذِّبُنِي ، وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ أَنْ يُكَذِّبَنِي ، أَمَّا شَتْمُهُ إِيَّايَ : قَوْلُهُ : إِنَّ لِي وَلَدًا ، وَأَمَّا تَكْذِيبُهُ إِيَّايَ : قَوْلُهُ : لَنْ يُعِيدَنِي كَمَا بَدَأَنِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty says, "My servant denies Me, though he should not do so, and he abuses Me, though he has no right to do so. The denial is that he says: 'Allah will not recreate us as He created us the first time.' And the abuse is that he says: 'Allah has taken a son.'"
