Musnad Ahmad

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Quraysh, Ansar, Juhaina, Muzaina, Aslam, Ghifar, and Ashja' tribes are my allies. They have no protector except Allah and His Messenger."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a fly falls into the vessel of any one of you, then he should remember that in one wing of the fly there is healing and in the other wing there is disease. Therefore, he should fully dip the fly into it (then using it is up to his discretion).

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a black woman or man who used to serve the Prophet's Mosque (by sweeping and keeping it clean). One day, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not see that person. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) about him/her, and they informed him that he/she had passed away. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why did you not inform me?" The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted that it was night time (so they did not consider it appropriate to trouble him). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Show me his/her grave." The noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) showed it to him, so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to the grave and prayed for his/her forgiveness.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the court of the Prophet while he (Hazrat Abu Huraira) was also present there, and asked: O Messenger of Allah! Which deed is the best? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To have faith in Allah and to strive in the path of Allah. He asked: Which slave's emancipation carries the greatest reward? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one whose price is highest and who is most valuable in the eyes of his owners. He said: If I do not have the means to free a slave, then what should I do? He replied: Help a laborer to stand on his feet or provide for a needy person so that he can earn. He asked: If I do not have the strength to do even that? He replied: Then keep yourself away from evil and sinful deeds, for this too is an excellent charity that you give on your own behalf.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the morning star rises, the calamities of the fields are removed.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard a sound which pleased him, so he said: "We have taken a good omen from your mouth."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah had made Friday obligatory upon the people before us as well, but they differed regarding it, whereas Allah guided us in this matter. Thus, now people follow us concerning this day. The day after (Saturday) is for the Jews, and the day after that (Sunday) is for the Christians.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not make your houses graveyards, for surely Satan flees from the house in which Surah Al-Baqarah is recited.

It is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the Imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you speak to your companion, then you have engaged in idle talk and rendered it void.

It is narrated with the same chain of transmission that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever seizes someone’s land unjustly, on the Day of Resurrection a collar made from a piece of it from the seven earths will be placed around his neck.

It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Woe to the heels from the fire of Hell on the Day of Resurrection."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If any one of you gets up from his place and goes away, then upon returning, he is most entitled to that place.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is better for any one of you to sit on a burning coal that burns his clothes and reaches his skin than to sit on the grave of a Muslim.

And it is narrated from the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate the meat of a goat's shoulder, then rinsed his mouth, washed his hands, and led the prayer.

And it is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ate some pieces of cheese and then performed ablution and led the ‘Isha prayer.

It is narrated from the same chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not harbor hatred, do not sever ties of kinship, and do not compete with one another. And O servants of Allah! Be brothers to one another.

It is narrated with the same chain that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When some people gather at a place and disperse without mentioning Allah, it is as if they dispersed from the carcass of a dead donkey, and that gathering will be a cause of regret for them on the Day of Resurrection.

It is narrated with the same chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every Monday and Thursday, the gates of Paradise are opened, and Allah Almighty forgives every servant who does not associate anything with Him, except for two men between whom there is a quarrel and dispute. Allah Almighty says: Leave both of them until they reconcile with each other.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The religion began as something strange, and soon it will return to its original state of strangeness, so glad tidings are for the strangers (who will remain steadfast to the religion)."

It is narrated with the previous chain that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In this black seed there is a cure for every disease except death.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The example of a miser and a spender is like that of two men who are wearing iron armor from their chest to their collarbone. Whenever the spender spends something, the armor expands in proportion to his spending and it opens up for him, while the miser’s armor becomes tighter and tighter. I heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) further say that the miser tries to loosen it, but he is unable to do so.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that some people asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Can you see the sun at midday when there are no clouds?" They said, "Yes!" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Can you see the full moon at night when there are no clouds?" They said, "Yes!" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, you will surely see your Lord, and you will not face any difficulty in seeing Him, just as you do not face any difficulty in seeing the moon and the sun."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Most of the punishment of the grave is due to not protecting oneself from urine splashes.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained the Quranic verse regarding those women who cut their hands, saying: If I had remained in prison for as long as Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him) did, and then I was offered release, I would have accepted it at that very moment and would not have sought any excuse.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not lawful for a wealthy person or a strong, healthy man to take zakat money.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Wealth is not in the abundance of possessions; true wealth is the wealth of the heart.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I came to you last night, but something prevented me from entering your house; there was either a picture of a man in the house or a dog.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: None of you will enter Paradise or be saved from Hell by virtue of his deeds alone, unless Allah bestows His grace and mercy. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" He replied, "Not even me, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy." After saying this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gestured with his blessed hand.

Jarir bin Zaid says that one day I was sitting with Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah, may Allah have mercy on him, near the gate of Madinah. A young man from the Quraysh passed by, and he had let his trousers hang below his ankles. Hazrat Salim, may Allah have mercy on him, said to him, "Raise your trousers." He apologized, saying, "Since these are made of linen, they fall down by themselves." When he left, Hazrat Salim, may Allah have mercy on him, said, "I heard Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrate from the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, that a man, dressed in a precious garment, was walking arrogantly, boasting about himself, when Allah caused the earth to swallow him up. Now he will continue to sink in the earth until the Day of Resurrection."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that whenever I went out at noon, I found the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performing prayer. (One day when I was present) the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), after finishing the prayer, asked in Persian, "Do you have pain in your stomach?" I replied, "No." He said, "Perform the prayer standing, for there is healing in the prayer."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will come when people will leave Madinah Munawwarah despite it being in the best condition." Someone asked, "Who will inhabit it then?" He replied, "Only wild animals and birds will remain there."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the charities of Banu Tamim: "These are the charities of my people, and these people will prove to be the toughest nation against the Dajjal." Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that previously I had great dislike for this tribe, but since I heard this statement of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I have started to love them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: How excellent is that slave who fulfills the rights of both Allah and his master. Ka'b added from his own side that Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth; there will be no reckoning for him and for the believer who is indifferent to the world.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah, I am also a human being. If I have caused harm to anyone (unknowingly) or cursed anyone, then make it a means of purification and closeness for that person.

The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul, on the Day of Resurrection, the rightful ones will be given their rights, to the extent that even the hornless goat will be given retribution from the horned goat that butted it.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Destruction is for the Arabs because of those tribulations which are near, such tribulations that will be like the dark portions of the night. In that era, a person will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the evening, or a believer in the evening and a disbeliever in the morning, and he will sell his religion for a small portion of worldly goods. And in that era, the one who remains steadfast on his religion will be like a person holding a burning ember in his hand.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah, I seek from You a promise which You will never break with me. If, being human, I have caused any harm to a Muslim, or spoken harshly to him, or struck him, or cursed him, then make it a source of mercy, purification, and nearness to You for that person on the Day of Judgment.
