Hadith 9115
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يُبَالُ فِي الْمَاءِ الَّذِي لَا يَجْرِي ، ثُمَّ يُغْتَسَلُ مِنْهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No person should urinate in standing water and then perform ablution (ghusl) with it.
Hadith 9116
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَقُولُ أَحَدُكُمْ : يَا خَيْبَةَ الدَّهْرِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ هُوَ الدَّهْرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Do not say that the times have been ruined, because the Creator of time is also Allah Himself.
Hadith 9117
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " كَانَ نَبِيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ يَخُطُّ ، فَمَنْ وَافَقَ عِلْمَهُ , فَهُوَ عِلْمُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the group of Prophets (peace be upon them), there was a Prophet who used to draw lines on the ground (which is called the science of geomancy). Whoever's knowledge coincides with his, he knows it.
Hadith 9118
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ فُرَافِصَةَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ غِرٌّ كَرِيمٌ ، وَإِنَّ الْفَاجِرَ خَبٌّ لَئِيمٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A believer is noble and simple-hearted, whereas a disbeliever is deceitful and vile.
Hadith 9119
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا يَزَالُ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا دَامَ فِي مَجْلِسِهِ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ ، وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يَقُولُونَ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُ , مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: As long as any one of you waits for the prayer, he is counted as being in prayer, and the angels continue to pray for his forgiveness as long as he remains seated at his place of prayer, saying: O Allah, forgive him, O Allah, have mercy on him, as long as he does not lose his ablution.
Hadith 9120
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لَا تَبَاغَضُوا ، وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا ، وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا ، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا ، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا ، لَا يَبِيعَنَّ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ ، وَلَا تَلَقَّوْا الرُّكْبَانَ بِبَيْعٍ ، وَأَيُّمَا امْرِئٍ ابْتَاعَ شَاةً فَوَجَدَهَا مُصَرَّاةً فَلْيَرُدَّهَا ، وَلْيَرُدَّ مَعَهَا صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، وَلَا يَسُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى سَوْمِ أَخِيهِ ، وَلَا يَخْطُبْ عَلَى خِطْبَتِهِ ، وَلَا تَسْأَلْ الْمَرْأَةُ طَلَاقَ أُخْتِهَا لِتَكْتَفِئَ مَا فِي إِنَائِهَا ، فَإِنَّ رِزْقَهَا عَلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not harbor malice, envy, deceit, or sever ties of kinship with one another, and O servants of Allah, be brothers among yourselves. And let no townsman sell for a villager, and do not meet traders outside (the city) to buy their goods before they reach the market. Whoever buys a goat and then finds that its udder is tied, he may return it with a sa’ (measure) of dates. No man should send a marriage proposal over his brother’s proposal, nor should he sell over his brother’s sale, and no woman should demand the divorce of her sister (whether real or religious) so that she may gather what is in her sister’s bowl or vessel for herself; rather, let her marry, for her sustenance is also the responsibility of Allah.
Hadith 9121
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " يُوشِكُ الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ حَكَمًا قِسْطًا ، وَإِمَامًا عَدْلًا ، فَيَقْتُلَ الْخِنْزِيرَ ، وَيَكْسِرَ الصَّلِيبَ ، وَتَكُونَ الدَّعْوَةُ وَاحِدَةً " . فَأَقْرِئُوهُ ، أَوْ أَقْرِئْهُ السَّلَامَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَأُحَدِّثُهُ فَيُصَدِّقُنِي ، فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ ، قَالَ : أَقْرِئُوهُ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon, Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him) will descend among you as a just ruler. He will break the cross, kill the swine, and there will remain only one call (to faith). Convey to them the greetings of peace from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The narrator says that Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) affirmed this at the time of his death and also advised me regarding it.
Hadith 9122
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " الصَّدَقَةُ عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى , وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ ، وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: True charity is with contentment of the heart. The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and you should begin charity and alms with those who are under your responsibility.
Hadith 9123
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ : طُولِ الْحَيَاةِ ، وَكَثْرَةِ الْمَالِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In an old man, love for two things becomes young: a long life and abundance of wealth.
Hadith 9124
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ يَعْنِي الْعَطَّارَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى أَنْ تَتَزَوَّجَ الْمَرْأَةُ عَلَى عَمَّتِهَا ، أَوْ عَلَى خَالَتِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade marrying a woman together with her paternal aunt or maternal aunt.
Hadith 9125
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ يَعْنِي الْعَطَّارَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : " أَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ اسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَبَّهَا فَنَفَّسَهَا فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، فَشِدَّةُ الْحَرِّ مِنْ حَرِّ جَهَنَّمَ ، وَشِدَّةُ الْبَرْدِ مِنْ زَمْهَرِيرِهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once the fire of Hell sought permission from its Lord. Allah granted it permission to breathe twice a year (once in the cold and once in the heat). Thus, the most intense heat is due to the effect of the heat of Hell, and the most intense cold is also due to the effect of the coldness of Hell.
Hadith 9126
وَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ ، فَأَبْرِدُوا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the heat is intense, perform the prayer after it has cooled down, for the severity of heat is from the effect of the heat of Hell.
Hadith 9127
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ يُفْرَدَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ بِصَوْمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade observing a fast on Friday alone.
Hadith 9128
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ مِنْ أَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ أَنْ يُرَى رُعَاةُ الشَّاءِ رُءُوسَ النَّاسِ ، وَأَنْ يُرَى الْحُفَاةُ الْعُرَاةُ الْجُوَّعُ يَتَبَارَوْنَ فِي الْبِنَاءِ ، وَأَنْ تَلِدَ الْأَمَةُ رَبَّهَا أَوْ رَبَّتَهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the signs of the Day of Judgment is that shepherds of goats will become the rulers of people, the naked, barefoot, and hungry will begin to boast over one another in tall buildings, and a slave woman will give birth to her mistress.
Hadith 9129
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الرُّؤْيَا ثَلَاثَةٌ : فَبُشْرَى مِنَ اللَّهِ ، وَحَدِيثُ النَّفْسِ ، وَتَخْوِيفٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، فَإِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ رُؤْيَا تُعْجِبُهُ فَلْيَقُصَّهَا إِنْ شَاءَ ، وَإِذَا رَأَى شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلَا يَقُصَّهُ عَلَى أَحَدٍ ، وَلْيَقُمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Dreams are of three types. Good dreams are glad tidings from Allah; some dreams are what a person imagines himself; and some dreams are from Satan to make a person sad. When any of you sees a dream that pleases him, he should relate it if he wishes, and if he sees a dream that he dislikes, he should not mention it to anyone, rather he should stand up and begin to pray.
Hadith 9130
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ تَابَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا ، تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever repents before the event of the sun rising from the west, his repentance will be accepted.
Hadith 9131
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي ، وَلَا تَكْتَنُوا بِكُنْيَتِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Name yourselves after me, but do not take my kunya as your kunya."
Hadith 9132
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " النَّاسُ أَتْبَاعٌ لِقُرَيْشٍ فِي هَذَا الشَّأْنِ ، كُفَّارُهُمْ أَتْبَاعٌ لِكُفَّارِهِمْ ، وَمُسْلِمُوهُمْ أَتْبَاعٌ لِمُسْلِمِيهِمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the matter of this religion, all people are subordinate to the Quraysh; the common Muslims are subordinate to the Qurayshi Muslims, and the common disbelievers are subordinate to the Qurayshi disbelievers.
Hadith 9133
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " عَلَى كُلِّ عُضْوٍ مِنْ أَعْضَاءِ ابْنِ آدَمَ ، صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is charity due on every joint of the son of Adam.
Hadith 9134
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْ يَأْخُذَ أَحَدُكُمْ حَبْلًا ، فَيَنْطَلِقَ إِلَى هَذَا الْجَبَلِ ، فَيَحْتَطِبَ مِنَ الْحَطَبِ وَيَبِيعَهُ ، وَيَسْتَغْنِيَ بِهِ عَنِ النَّاسِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ أَعْطَوْهُ ، أَوْ حَرَمُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Allah, it is much better that one of you takes a rope, goes to the mountains, cuts wood, sells it, and through this becomes independent of people, rather than going to people and asking them (for something), whether they give him something or not, as per their wish.
Hadith 9135
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ هُوَ ابْنُ عَمْرٍو الْهَجَرِيُّ ، فِيمَا أَحْسَبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " بَيْنَمَا امْرَأَةٌ فِيمَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ تُرْضِعُ ابْنًا لَهَا ، إِذْ مَرَّ بِهَا فَارِسٌ مُتَكَبِّرٌ عَلَيْهِ شَارَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ ، فَقَالَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ : اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُمِتْ ابْنِي هَذَا حَتَّى أَرَاهُ مِثْلَ هَذَا الْفَارِسِ ، عَلَى مِثْلِ هَذَا الْفَرَسِ . قَالَ : فَتَرَكَ الصَّبِيُّ الثَّدْيَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْنِي مِثْلَ هَذَا الْفَارِسِ . قَالَ : ثُمَّ عَادَ إِلَى الثَّدْيِ يَرْضَعُ ، ثُمَّ مَرُّوا بِجِيفَةٍ حَبَشِيَّةٍ أَوْ زِنْجِيَّةٍ تُجَرُّ ، فَقَالَتْ : أُعِيذُ ابْنِي بِاللَّهِ أَنْ يَمُوتَ مِيتَةَ هَذِهِ الْحَبَشِيَّةِ أَوْ الزِّنْجِيَّةِ ، فَتَرَكَ الثَّدْيَ ، وَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ أَمِتْنِي مِيتَةَ هَذِهِ الْحَبَشِيَّةِ أَوْ الزِّنْجِيَّةِ ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّهُ : يَا بُنَيَّ , سَأَلْتُ رَبَّكَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَكَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ الْفَارِسِ ، فَقُلْتَ : اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْنِي مِثْلَهُ ، وَسَأَلْتُ رَبَّكَ أَلَّا يُمِيتَكَ مِيتَةَ هَذِهِ الْحَبَشِيَّةِ أَوْ الزِّنْجِيَّةِ ، فَسَأَلْتَ رَبَّكَ أَنْ يُمِيتَكَ مِيتَتَهَا ! . قَالَ : فَقَالَ الصَّبِيُّ : إِنَّكِ دَعَوْتِ رَبَّكِ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِثْلَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، وَإِنَّ الْحَبَشِيَّةَ أَوْ الزِّنْجِيَّةَ كَانَ أَهْلُهَا يَسُبُّونَهَا وَيَضْرِبُونَهَا وَيَظْلِمُونَهَا ، فَتَقُولُ : حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ ، حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the Children of Israel, there was a woman who was breastfeeding her son. By chance, a rider wearing embroidered clothes passed by. The woman said, "O Allah, make my child like him." The child left his mother's breast, turned towards the rider, and said, "O Allah, do not make me like him," and then started suckling again. After a while, some people passed by, taking along a slave woman (whom they were beating on the way). The woman said, "I seek Allah's protection for my child that he may not die like this Abyssinian woman." The child immediately stopped suckling and said, "O Allah, make me like her." The mother asked the child, "Why did you wish for this?" The child replied, "That rider was a tyrant (so I prayed not to be like him), and people are abusing this slave woman, oppressing her, and she keeps saying, 'Allah is sufficient for me.'"
Hadith 9136
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . وَعَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا صَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمًا ، فَنَسِيَ فَأَكَلَ وَشَرِبَ فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ ، فَإِنَّمَا أَطْعَمَهُ اللَّهُ وَسَقَاهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you is fasting and forgetfully eats or drinks something, he should still complete his fast, for it is Allah who has fed him and given him drink.
Hadith 9137
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَسُبُّوا الدَّهْرَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الدَّهْرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not speak ill of time, for the Creator of time is Allah Himself.
Hadith 9138
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفُ بْنُ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " . قَالَ : قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : " عَبْدِي تَرَكَ شَهْوَتَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ ، ابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِي ، وَالصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. Allah Almighty says: Fasting is especially for Me, and I Myself will give its reward. My servant leaves his desires and food and drink for My pleasure.
Hadith 9139
حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ فَأَرَادَ الطُّهُورَ ، فَلَا يَضَعَنَّ يَدَهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَهَا ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you wakes up from his sleep, he should not put his hand into a vessel until he has washed it, for he does not know where his hand spent the night.
Hadith 9140
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي شَرِيكٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي نَمِرٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيْسَ الْمِسْكِينُ الَّذِي تَرُدُّهُ التَّمْرَةُ وَالتَّمْرَتَانِ ، وَاللُّقْمَةُ وَاللُّقْمَتَانِ ، إِنَّ الْمِسْكِينَ الْمُتَعَفِّفُ " ، اقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ : لا يَسْأَلُونَ النَّاسَ إِلْحَافًا سورة البقرة آية 273 .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The needy is not the one who is turned away with one or two dates or one or two morsels; the real needy is the one who refrains from begging. If you wish, recite this verse: "They do not beg of people importunately."
Hadith 9141
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " نُصِرْتُ بِالرُّعْبِ ، وَأُوتِيتُ جَوَامِعَ الْكَلَامِ ، وَبَيْنَمَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ ، أُوتِيتُ بِمَفَاتِيحِ خَزَائِنِ الْأَرْضِ ، فَوُضِعَتْ فِي يَدِي "
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have been helped through awe; I have been sent with concise and comprehensive speech; and once, while I was sleeping, the keys to all the treasures of the earth were brought to me and placed in my hand."
Hadith 9142
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَهْبٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ الْبَرِيَّةِ ؟ " . قَالُوا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ . قَالَ : " رَجُلٌ آخِذٌ بِعِنَانِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، كُلَّمَا كَانَتْ هَيْعَةٌ اسْتَوَى عَلَيْهِ ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِالَّذِي يَلِيهِ ؟ " . قَالُوا : بَلَى . قَالَ : " الرَّجُلُ فِي ثُلَّةٍ مِنْ غَنَمِهِ ، يُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ ، وَيُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ . أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِشَرِّ الْبَرِيَّةِ ؟ " . قَالُوا : بَلَى . قَالَ : " الَّذِي يُسْأَلُ بِاللَّهِ ، وَلَا يُعْطِي بِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you about the best man among the creation? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Why not, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: The man who holds the reins of his horse and sets out in the path of Allah, and whenever needed, mounts it. Shall I not tell you about the one who is at the next level after him? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Why not? He said: The man who is among his flock of goats, establishes prayer, and gives zakat. Shall I not tell you about the worst man among the creation? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Why not? He said: The man who asks someone for something in the name of Allah, but receives nothing.
Hadith 9143
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ ، فَأُرِيدُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ ، أَنْ أَخْتَبِئَ دَعْوَتِي لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، شَفَاعَةً لِأُمَّتِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every prophet has a supplication that is certainly accepted, and I have reserved my supplication for the intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 9144
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " قَاتَلَ اللَّهُ الْيَهُودَ ، اتَّخَذُوا قُبُورَ أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ مَسَاجِدَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah's curse be upon the Jews, for they made the graves of their prophets places of prostration.
Hadith 9145
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ هُرْمُزَ الْأَعْرَجَ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ سَأَلهَ جَارَهُ أَنْ يَضَعَ خَشَبَةً فِي جِدَارِهِ ، فَلَا يَمْنَعْهُ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ ؟ ! ، وَاللَّهِ لَأَرْمِيَنَّ بِهَا بَيْنَ أَكْتَافِكُمْ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you asks his neighbor for permission to fix a beam in his wall, he should not prevent him. When Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith to the people, they began to raise their heads and look at him (as if they were surprised at this). Seeing this, Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: What is the matter that I see you turning away? By Allah, I will certainly enforce this among your shoulders (i.e., I will implement it among you).
Hadith 9146
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ، وَأَبُو الزِّنَادِ , عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، مِثْلَهُ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 9147
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَنَّ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ أَنْصِتْ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ ، فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When the Imam is delivering the Friday sermon and you say to your companion, "Be quiet," then you have engaged in idle talk.
Hadith 9148
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : إِنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَخْبَرَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم : " إِنَّهُ ليُسْتَجَابُ لِأَحَدِكُمْ مَا لَمْ يَعْجَلْ ، فَيَقُولُ : قَدْ دَعَوْتُ رَبِّي فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِبْ لِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your supplication will certainly be accepted as long as there is no haste. Haste means that a person starts saying: I have made so many supplications to my Lord, but He does not accept them.
Hadith 9149
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عُبَيْدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَنَتَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ ، فَقَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ ، وَعَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ ، وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ " . قَالَ : فَوَافَقَهُ الْقَاسِمُ ، عَلَى أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَنَتَ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would rise from the bowing (ruku) of the second rak'ah of the Fajr prayer, he would supplicate: O Allah! Grant deliverance to Walid bin Walid, Salamah bin Hisham, Ayyash bin Abi Rabi'ah, and the other weak ones of Makkah Mukarramah from the oppression and tyranny of the Quraysh. Qasim agreed with them in this matter that the Prophet recited this supplication after the Qunoot of Witr.
Hadith 9150
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " فَضْلُ صَلَاةِ الْجَمَاعَةِ ، عَلَى صَلَاةِ أَحَدِكُمْ ، وَحْدَهُ خَمْسَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ جُزْءًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The superiority of prayer offered in congregation over prayer offered alone is twenty-five degrees more.
Hadith 9151
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَجْتَمِعُ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّيْلِ وملائكة َالنَّهَارِ ، فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ، قَالَ : فَيَجْتَمِعُونَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ ، قَالَ : فَتَصْعَدُ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّيْلِ ، وَتَثْبُتُ مَلَائِكَةُ النَّهَارِ ، قَالَ : وَيَجْتَمِعُونَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ ، قَالَ : فَيَصْعَدُ مَلَائِكَةُ النَّهَار ، وَتَثْبُتُ مَلَائِكَةُ اللَّيْلِ ، قَالَ : فَيَسْأَلُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ : كَيْفَ تَرَكْتُمْ عِبَادِي ، قَالَ : فَيَقُولُونَ : أَتَيْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ ، وَتَرَكْنَاهُمْ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ " . قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ : وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ ، إِلَّا قَدْ قَالَ فِيهِ : " فَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The angels of the night and the angels of the day gather at the times of Fajr and Asr prayers. Then those angels who have stayed among you during the night ascend to the heavens at the time of Fajr, and in the same way, they gather at the time of Asr, so the angels of the day ascend to the heavens and the angels of the night remain. Allah Almighty, although He knows everything, asks them: In what condition did you leave My servants? They say: When we left them, they were praying, and when we came to them, they were praying.
Hadith 9152
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِذَا رَجَعَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ أَنْ يَجِدَ ثَلَاثَ خَلِفَاتٍ عِظَامٍ سِمَانٍ ؟ " . قَالَ : قُلْنَا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَثَلَاثُ آيَاتٍ يَقْرَؤْهُنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْهُنَّ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Does any one of you like that he should return to his family with three healthy, pregnant she-camels?" The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "Yes (everyone would like that)." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites thirty verses of the Noble Qur'an in prayer, for him those three verses are better than three pregnant she-camels."
Hadith 9153
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي خُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ مِنْبَرِي عَلَى حَوْضِي ، وَإِنَّ مَا بَيْنَ مِنْبَرِي وَبَيْنَ بَيْتِي رَوْضَةٌ مِنْ رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَصَلَاةٌ فِي مَسْجِدِي كَأَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ ، إِلَّا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The area between my house and my pulpit is one of the gardens of Paradise, and my pulpit will be set up over my cistern on the Day of Resurrection. And the reward for offering prayer in this mosque of mine is like offering a thousand prayers in all other mosques except Masjid al-Haram.
Hadith 9154
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قال : حدثني الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْقُرَظِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَة ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ خُبَيْبٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصٍ ، لَمْ يَزِدْ وَلَمْ يَنْقُصْ .
