It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep your rows straight, for your rows are like the rows of the angels. Join your shoulders together, fill the gaps in between, be gentle in the hands of your brothers, and do not leave any space for Satan. Whoever joins the row, Allah joins him, and whoever breaks the row, Allah breaks him."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) advanced, took hold of my shoulder, and said: "O Ibn Umar! The part of the garment that touches the ground will be in Hell." The narrator says that after that, I saw Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) tying his lower garment up to half of his shin.

She came and asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about his opinion regarding silk. He replied that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has prohibited it (for men).

There are people more in need than me, give it to them." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take it, increase your wealth with it, then give charity from it. And remember! If wealth comes to you without your desire and without asking, then take it, otherwise do not pursue it." Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that for this reason, Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would not ask anything from anyone, but if someone gave him something, he would not refuse it.

The narrator says that mitharah refers to the skins of predatory animals, qasiyyah refers to garments made of silk that were brought from Egypt, and mufaddam refers to clothes dyed with yellow color.
