Abdullah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once I prayed with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) at Muzdalifah. He led three rak'ahs of Maghrib and two rak'ahs of Isha with a single iqamah. Khalid bin Malik asked him about this, so he replied: "I have prayed these prayers at this place with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with a single iqamah."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer sacrifice in Madinah Munawwarah on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah, and if he was unable to perform nahr (slaughtering in the prescribed manner), he would simply slaughter it.
Hadith 6402
Qaqa’ bin Hakim narrates that once Abdul Aziz bin Marwan wrote a letter to Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying, “Present your needs before me (so that I may order them to be fulfilled).” Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied to this letter, “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin (giving) with those whose maintenance is your responsibility.’ And I understand that the upper hand means the giving hand, and the lower hand means the asking hand. I do not ask you for anything, nor will I reject the sustenance that Allah grants me from your side.”
Hadith 6403

This prophetic saying is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that envy (desire) is not permissible except towards two persons: one is the person whom Allah has granted the wealth of the Qur'an and he remains engaged in its recitation day and night; and the other is the person whom Allah has granted wealth and property, and he is made to spend it in the way of truth.

It is narrated mursal from Imam Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) would stone the first Jamrah, which is near the mosque, he would throw seven pebbles and say takbeer with each pebble. Then he would stand facing the Ka'bah, raise his hands, and make supplication, and he would stand for a long time. Then he would throw seven pebbles at the second Jamrah, saying takbeer with each pebble, and he would move to the left side towards the bottom of the valley, stand, face the Ka'bah, raise his hands, and make supplication. Then he would come to the Jamrah Aqabah, throw seven pebbles at it, saying takbeer with each pebble, and after that he would not stand there but would return. Imam Zuhri, may Allah have mercy on him, says: I heard Salim, may Allah have mercy on him, narrate the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) in the same manner, and Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would also do the same.
Hadith 6405
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No disease is contagious and there is no reality in bad omens. Misfortune could be found in three things: in a horse, in a woman, and in a house."

Once, a man from Iraq asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the ruling if a Muhrim kills a fly. Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied: "These people of Iraq come to me asking about killing a fly, while the grandson of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was martyred (without anyone asking about it), even though the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about his two grandsons: 'Both of them are my sweet basils from this world.'"

Saeed bin Amr, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once I was sitting with Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, when a man came. He asked him, "Which tribe do you belong to?" He replied, "To the tribe of Aslam." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said: "O Aslami brother! Shall I not give you glad tidings? It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a gold ring made. He would turn its stone towards the palm of his hand. The people also had rings made, upon which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw it away while on the pulpit and said: "I used to wear this ring and would turn its stone inward towards my palm. By Allah, I will never wear it again." Consequently, the people also threw away their rings.

The people also did the same. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from doing so. It is narrated, most likely as a marfu’ hadith, from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that whoever says "Insha’Allah" while taking an oath, then he has the choice: if he wishes to fulfill his oath, he may do so, and if he wishes to retract from it, he may do so without becoming a perjurer.

Saeed bin Jubair, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once he heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, saying that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, declared nabidh (fermented drink) made in earthenware jars to be forbidden. I went to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, and said to him, "Are you not surprised at Abu Abdur Rahman? He thinks that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, declared nabidh made in earthenware jars to be forbidden." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "He has spoken the truth. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, declared it forbidden." I asked, "What is meant by 'earthenware jar'?" He replied: "Anything that is made from baked clay."

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to fulfill his vow, so Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) set out from there. While he was still praying, he heard people saying that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had freed the captives of Hawazin, so he also freed his own slave.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave him a silk garment, and it began to hang below his ankles. So the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke harshly about this and mentioned Hell.

We asked him about the prayer of a traveler. He said: "It is two rak'ahs, except for Maghrib, which remains three rak'ahs." I asked, "If we are in 'Dhi al-Majaz', what is the ruling?" He asked, "What is 'Dhu al-Majaz'?" I said, "It is the name of a place where we gather, buy and sell, and spend twenty or twenty-five days there." Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said: "O man, I was in Azerbaijan, and I stayed there for four or two months (I do not remember exactly), and I saw the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, performing only two rak'ahs there. Then I saw with my own eyes the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, performing two rak'ahs during travel. Then he recited this verse: 'Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example.'"

Drops of water were falling from his head. I asked, 'Who is this?' It was made known to me that this is Sayyiduna Isa (peace be upon him). Then behind him I saw a man with curly hair, reddish complexion, blind in the right eye, and, according to my sight, he resembled Ibn Qatan the most. I asked, 'Who is this?' If I sold for dinars, I would take dirhams from the buyer, and if I sold for dirhams, I would take dinars from him. One day, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to ask about this issue. At that time, he (peace and blessings be upon him) was entering his chamber. Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I and Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) entered the mosque. We reached Syedna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and sat with him. There were some people performing the Duha prayer there. We asked him, "O Abu Abdur Rahman, what kind of prayer is this?" He replied, "It is an innovation." We asked him, "How many Umrahs did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform?" He replied, "Four, one of which was in Rajab." We felt shy to refute his statement, but at that very moment, we heard the sound of the Mother of the Believers, Syeda Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) using the miswak. So Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) said to her, "O Mother of the Believers, did you hear what Abu Abdur Rahman is saying? He is saying that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed four Umrahs, one of which was in Rajab." She replied, "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdur Rahman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed every Umrah with him present, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform any Umrah in Rajab."
